We’re late, we’re late, we’re late for an important date. In other words, uuuuuuugggggghhhh technology! We do apologise for the tardiness of this week’s podcast. We suffered a horrible technical glitch that caused a lot of cursing, fist slamming and grey hair. Our website blocked us, disowned us, shunned us like a disappointed mammy… we’re still not ready to talk about it. Followed by days (yes, daaaays) of WiFi-less hitchhiking and camping along the side of the Route 14 highway, the big ass road that leads all the way from Buenos Aires in Argentina to Igauzu in Brazil. Fun times. So now that we have grovelled for your forgiveness and promise to up our game for next week’s Costa Rica podcast, here is the long awaited episode 4 of The Ungraceful Guide aural adventures. On this episode, we introduce to you a country we never knew existed and could barely pronounce. We jump across the border into Nicaragua, one of the poorest countries in Central America yet definitley the most exciting. Where we saw hot molten lava, flew down active volcanoes on wooden boards, ventured over 30 hours via busses and boats to an isolated Caribbean island, and got trapped in a hostel by a scam artist in the volcano-made island of Ometepe (we’re sensing a theme here). But at the end of it all, the only question we need answered is this, how do you pronounce Nicaragua?

This week on our extremely ungraceful podcast, we pick you up from Mexico to bring you on an adventure by boat into Guatemala. From dodgy border officials to our first ride on a chicken bus and all things in between, our first few weeks in Central America were filled with flying turtles, man-crushes, a drunken St. Patrick’s Day and volcano roasted marshmallows. Turn it up to 11, and let’s take a spin through Guatemala and El Salvador Ungraceful Guide style. While in Tikal, James joined us for a spot of lunch, where he proved his love of cheese & crackers. Thank you for such incredible feedback on our first ever podcast. We aim to please, so here is Mexico, the second official podcast from The Ungraceful Guide, and it’s all your fault! This week, we take a trip to where our Latin America journey began, nearly a year ago now. We reminisce about our days staying in the ‘purple prince palace’, share some quirky customs we learned while in San Cristobal de las Casas (one that involves alcohol and a chicken), and Katie shares her most embarrassing life moment.
