We’re covering another busy month of major news and product announcements highlighted by the Microsoft Build conference! In this month’s episode, we focus on Microsoft’s open source software strategy and offerings. Many customers and partners would still be surprised to learn that Microsoft is embracing and integrating open source technology into it’s cloud services and software products. We interview Sunil Kamath from the Azure Data Services product team as well as Tim Walton from the field-based partner team for two different perspectives on what Microsoft is doing around open source. We also have a rundown on news items highlighted by the announcement of Azure Sphere, a new IoT offering slated to become generally available later this year.

The Microsoft Ultimate Partner podcast returns for its first episode in 2018! This month, we will discuss how partners can get started with building a partner practice around Microsoft Azure by focusing on some of the initial workloads that customers often start with when transitioning to the public cloud such as backup, virtual machines and disaster recovery. Rounding out this month’s content; we’ve got an interview with Andrew Liu, Program Manager on the Azure CosmosDB who will be answering questions about this fast-growing Azure database service. Finally, we’ve got loads of essential resources to highlight enabling partners to accelerate their Microsoft business!

Highlighting the show this month, we interview Lee Cox, Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft regarding Microsoft’s new Azure Stack appliance which allows partners and customers to implement a fully on-premises implementation of the Azure cloud.
