I'm here with my allies Dietaku and the Hipster Snek! We are here to recite our death Haiku! For death is the only way out for ninjas! The Hipster Snek: [00:00:18] Domo, I am Snek Ninja. Dietaku: [00:00:19] Domo, I am Dietaku ninja. The Hipster Snek: [00:00:21] But please, please do not ask how a creature with no legs and no arms can be a ninja. If a turtle can do it. A Snek can do it. Dietaku: [00:00:29] Are you a trouser snek ninja? You got a little tube Gi. It's like a little tube. You'd wriggle through it. It's like a little Gi And you got your little mask.It makes sense. The logistics of it are not a problem. Cog: [00:01:21] Hello, everyone! So if you haven't guessed today on the podcast, we are going through Ninja Slayer. We've decided to actually do all of Ninja Slayer in one episode because the episodes are really subtracting the intro and outro only about 12 minutes long. So we're going to run through the whole season. Dietaku: [00:01:43] I mean, besides much like the series, we're just going to blow through it really quick. Don't worry, we'll have a little paper dolls. That'll just be like, talking with the dialogue and then we'll get really, really detailed when we're about to punch each other! The Hipster Snek: [00:01:58] And we'll just smack the two paper dolls together really, really vigorously. Cog: [00:02:04] Should we make a comment about the whole Funimation thing because this happened to be a Funimatino Dub. Dietaku: [00:02:09] Oh, man. You know, it's funny that you mention that because when Snek and I were rewatching it, we binged. I actually own this on Blu ray and we watched it about two months ago, actually. And so then we rewatched it and I was like, oh, that's right. This is a is a Funimation Dub.That's unfortunate because Funimation is self-destructing right now. Cog: [00:02:35] Yes, as of as of this recording, Funimation is imploding. But by the time this episode airs, it may be old news. Dietaku: [00:02:44] It probably will be. Unfortunately, the speed of the Internet and the caring of the Internet seems to be like sharks. They only care if there's blood in the water. The Hipster Snek: [00:02:55] And even then, they can only be bothered for so long. Dietaku: [00:03:01] Much like sharks or sneks, ravenous deep sea sneks. I'm sorry if that was a Snekist comment. The Hipster Snek: [00:03:11] Offense is only taken, never given. Dietaku: [00:03:14] You know, it's funny, actually. Unlike other ninja shows, there isn't actually a snek ninja in Ninja Slayer as far as I remember. There was the one dude who had a frog. It was like a frog ninja. But no sneks. So anyways, this series is actually really, really interesting is because it much like a lot of the shows that I have been trying to put forward. It started as a light novel series. The cool thing that I'm actually really jealous about this was the way that the two authors put it forward was they put a bunch of snippets together onto Japanese Twitter. But the way they framed this series of snippets was they would put them as, oh, guys, we got this manuscript from these two American authors, Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez and we're going to put out pieces of this on our Twitter and we'll just be like Ninja Slayer vs. Car Bomb, Ninja Slayer, you know, threw car bomb down on the road and blew em up. Ninja Slayer vs. bug flick. Ninja Slayer hit him with a giant weed whacker and blew him up, too. And it just more like eight ninjas. He just would proceed to just slaughter them. And I think they actually make a reference to this, because I want to say and like Episode 4, Dark Ninja is reporting to Laomotoand he has just a series of ninja portraits in the memorial photo style. And he goes, yeah, we've been losing a lot of ninjas. That's what they're referring to is actually the opening bit. When Ninja Slayer just wakes up after being revived and just goes on this rampage and kills just a butt load of ninjas. And as a as a writer, I'm actually kind of jealous because this is such a cool way of eliciting interest in your book, because honestly, Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez don't exist. This was entirely just a marketing move and it's pretty brilliant. I'd say I'm as I say, I'm kind of jealous. Yeah. So this this series is one near and dear to my heart because not only is it just really cool, it's also animated by Trigger who are just awesome in general. And I'm going to stop van blang now so you guys can actually get a word in edgewise.   WARNING - SPOILERS!   Credits: The Tomodachi Brothers are: The Hipster Snek, Cog and Dietaku. The Tomodachi Bros. Revue ep 3: Hyperdimension Neptunia The Animation
The Tomodachi Bros. Revue ep 3 - Hyperdimension Neptunia The Animation! In this episode, the Bros. dive into the world of Hyperdimension Neptunia Directed by Masahiro Mukai and produced by Studio David Production.  To hear this episode Uncensored, Ad-Free and including The Tomodachi Brothers After Dark segment premium segment check out our podbean site: tomodachibrosrevue.podbean.com   Show Transcript: The Hipster Snek: [00:00:05] I am suffering from a terrible cold. Apparently that just kind of decided to kick my butt today. I am The Hipster Snek here with my dear, beloved companions and I apparently sound awful. Going to preemptively apologize. Dietaku: [00:00:21] You sound fantastic, my friend. You should get head colds more often. Cog: [00:00:25] You do, actually. You should do this more often and actually, everybody else normally has really crappy voices when they sound ill. You sound like an octave deeper. Dietaku: [00:00:36] Yeah, you sound fantastic. The Hipster Snek: [00:00:39] Actually, I would normally take that as just like, oh, hey, that's a good tradeoff. But no, I actually just wake up like every two hours during the night coughing. I already took the last Friday off for hopes that I would just get over this. And it just seems worse now. So as I was saying, I'm the Hipster Snek and these are my beloved companions with me today is, of course, world tree cycles. Dietaku: [00:01:09] Or Dietaku whichever. I answer too many names. The Hipster Snek: [00:01:14] Oh, I've introduced you my videos as world tree cycles due to your Twitter handle. Dietaku: [00:01:20] But I am also the Dietaku. I will answer to that, too. The Hipster Snek: [00:01:23] Over here we have Cog of Cog Sound Engineering Links now and all of my videos for the amazing sound editing work this man has put forth. Cog: [00:01:37] I appreciate that. Dietaku: [00:01:38] You know what? You know what? You better be careful after if you put your voice in now into his protocols with your sexy filter, you're just going to be like, it's just going to have the careless whisper. So you better be careful. I'm just saying. The Hipster Snek: [00:01:56] Ladies the Snek is single. Cog: [00:01:58] Oh, man. We're off to a banging start today. Dietaku: [00:02:01] Speaking of banging Neptunia. Yeah? What is it about? The Hipster Snek: [00:02:07] Hyperdimension Neptunia, the full official title. I actually double checked the official title of this. Anime is actually Hyperdimension Neptunia The Animation. Cog: [00:02:15] Probably for best results.Best to have already watched episodes one through twelve. Plus the episode 13 OVA which is the entire series right now. Dietaku: [00:02:29] There's actually David Productions is starting a new series based off of V2. Cog: [00:02:34] Really? Dietaku: [00:02:35] But right now this is the entirety of the Neptunia animation experience. So what is Neptunia? What is Neptunia? Is it a game? Is it a visual novel? Is it a deep sense of shame that your parents feel whenever they're like, hello Son!...Oh, and they walk away? The Hipster Snek: [00:02:52] The best part is, it's all that and so much more. You see Neptunia actually started off as a series of PS3 exclusives of JRPGs and the thing that's really maybe not great, but interesting is that first game in particular pioneered a lot of really previously unseen mechanics and how an RPG will run. And I'll talk more about that in the after hours. But to put a fine point on it, it wasn't really what one might accidentally call a good game on account that it wasn't. Dietaku: [00:03:30] Oh, I think you could accidentally call it a good game because that's not something you intend to do. The Hipster Snek: [00:03:36] Yeah, it's it wasn't really a good game. Now, what it was, was a thing of interest and clearly. Dietaku: [00:03:43] Extremely marketable. The Hipster Snek: [00:03:45] They saw something there that if they polished it and ran with it, they could make something much, much better. In fact, one of the game devs that vouched for Neptunia's authenticity very early on in its life was Keiji Inafune the Megaman guy. [00:04:02] Yes, because the next game in the series and I'm not I'm not pooping on anybody effectively is Breath of Fire 6 before a Breath of Fire 6 became a thing. It used the same battle system as Breath of Fire 5. And you replace the main characters with dragon people. I mean, that's basically what it would be. The main thing is transformation and using a movement based weird hybrid action RPG standard JRPG thing. The Hipster Snek: [00:04:34] The thing of beauty is that every game improves upon that which came before it.Then when it got to its third major game Victory, they ended up having a series of rereleases called the Rebirth series. And those are on steam for those who actually want to play them.Am I going to cover Neptune here on the Snek channel? Eventually, but not immediately. Maybe in 2020. However, after those games are released. David Animation's spend all their money making Jojo part 1 and 2 as awesome as possible, so they had to get cash in the direction as minimal effort as possible. So of course, lowest common denominator equals Hyperdimension Neptunia. Now I'm I'm being half facetious, half facetious. Cog: [00:05:23] It definitely comes across as a budget title. Dietaku: [00:05:25] I wish I could find it because the backlash after David Productions, you know, hit it out of the park with Jojo and then they saw that they were doing Neptunia to the next season. There were people who were butt hurt. And it wasn't just like the Jojo guys. JesuOtaku I remember this very vividly was like extremely put out by it. She's like, I'm not going to watch this anime porn. Like it looks like cute girls doing cute thing anime. I knew nothing about it at the time. And I mean, I was more or less right. Which just proves to you how how high my power level really is. And, you know, actually having got into this series, because here just for point of reference, I have played all the Rebirth games and V2. I have not done anything else. I did not play the original game, nor really am I going to, because going back to the Rebirth games after playing V2, it's like. I really miss V2's battle system. It's just it's so much better. The Hipster Snek: [00:06:33] A thing that does help with context a bit is I'm responsible for these guys knowing that an Neptunia exists. And that's because a friend of mine told me about it. And then I complained at great length that Jojo was being put on hiatus on its account to which I was. Dietaku: [00:06:54] So you were one of the butt hurt guys! The Hipster Snek: [00:06:55] I was! On the onset, I'll be honest from the onset.I was. And that's when my friend challenged me. And he said, Snek, you have to play it before you knock it. You can't just take a swipe at the series that you know nothing about, or you become just another one of those whining internet guys who doesn't have a basis to stand on it. And I said, fine, that's fair. Dietaku: [00:07:20] Yeah. He's got you there, dude. The Hipster Snek: [00:07:22] No, that's fair. That's fair. And then I. And I accepted it. I ran out to GameStop like two days later after that conversation, and I picked up a copy of the first game. I played it. And I was like, that wasn't a great game. This is in no way competition for Monster Rancher 4. But it had my interest and I felt that there was a lot of potential, especially since there are already sequels out. I'm telling the story a little bit of order. I actually play the second game first. The first game I wasn't able to play into later on. And that that puts things in context because like I said mechanically, the first game. It's not exactly great. Mark 2 I played first and I was about halfway through Mark 2 when I got the first. Dietaku: [00:08:08] Which introduced my favorite girl, which is a very important thing I feel right now. We need. Just before we go, because it's such a central aspect of the series. It's time. It is time for the Dietaku Power Hour.   Please Connect with us on the following Platforms: Subscribe on YouTube: The Tomodachi Bros. Before we get into it, I just had a couple of things I would like to outline for our listeners. I just want go over real quick how we basically arrived at our first series, which is gonna be Jojo season one, how we selected it, the process that we use and just the format of the show moving forward. So as Dietaku mentions in episode 0. The shows are gonna be selected at random, but we do have a method to our madness. Essentially, when it comes time to pick a new show, Dietaku, Snek and I are each going to put forward a show that we would like to watch. This can be a new show, an old show, something we've seen before. Something that just looks interesting to us. It doesn't matter. Then on top of that, there's gonna be a fourth option. The fourth option is going to be the random option. So with this, we're basically going to throw all our choices into a hat and we're going to roll some dice or use a random number generator and then we will decide the winner. So we've already done this process beforehand. That's how we arrived at Jojo Season 1 for our Episode 1 here. And I believe this was Mr. Snek's choice. So he won this round. Dietaku: [00:01:08] You won this round Snek! Cog: [00:01:10] But for future. Yes. You won this round. The Hipster Snek: [00:01:12] Always do. Cog: [00:01:15] But for future episodes moving forward, we will do this process on the show. And that way, you know, you guys know what we're going to be watching next. For those playing the home game anyway, without further ado, I'm going to hand it over to Mr. Dietaku, who will give us our Jojo synopsis. Dietaku: [00:01:33] Well, you see, Jojo Bizarre Adventure is actually an interesting case. The series is actually a meta series where upon it covers eight different stories. Each of them involving the Joe Star family, a heroic family that starts originally in Great Britain, but moves across the world in various different ways and just seems to keep getting into supernatural shenanigans. However, being as heroic and resourceful as they are, they will always fight for both the goodness and betterment of both themselves, their friends and the human race in general. So that being said, though, we're going to talk about part one Phantom Blood and the first bit of part two Battle Tendency, which I believe is actually Mr. Snek's favorite part. Isn't that right, Mr. Snek? The Hipster Snek: [00:02:29] Yep. My first, the first two parts really, I think are just one great cohesive story. Even separately or together, there are amazing. I love their leading men. Just love everything about them. Cog: [00:02:42] So for this episode, we're covering episodes 1 through 13. So those playing the home game and then the following episode are part 2. Basically, we're going to be moving forward. We're gonna be splitting seasons in half. Dietaku: [00:02:56] For those of you who are not, who want specifics, what he's referring to is we're gonna be watching 13 episode chunks. So a single season if we're talking about anime seasons. Cog: [00:03:06] Yes. All right. So.Phantom blood, gentlemen. Dietaku: [00:03:11] First off, I suppose I need to sorry, not sorry, you guys, because I kind of am the reason why you all are actually familiar with Jojo at all. Really? Yes, yes. Yes, that's right. So sorry. Not sorry. Because basically what happened was is back in 2006. God, I was on this certain website. I believe it's a underwater basket weaving forum called 4chan. And they started having just out of context bits of the manga show up and I go, what the heck is this? So I look into it and I find a text translation of Part 3 Stardust Crusaders. I read it over the course of thirty six hours and I fall in love with it. Then I find veggies jojo scanlations which I don't even think exists anymore. And I started watching it or rather reading it. And then I know I'm at college at that time, and I come home and I meet these two guys and I go, Guys. This is the best thing, and they're a little bit skeptical at first, but, well, being good friend, I can't not let them, you know, get involved in things I like. So that's where we are now. Cog: [00:04:32] We were in high school. The Hipster Snek: [00:04:34] We were in high school. Dietaku was preparing to go off for college, I believe. The first thing I actually saw of Jojo was actually a fight fairly early in Part 3, and that was pretty much all it took to sell me on it. And now, as a quick aside to all listeners, you don't need scan translations anymore. Jojo's part 1 through 3 are available in complete translated official release form through viz media. You can find them everywhere now. They are really high quality hardback release that comprises several manga volumes together and they are starting on Jojo part 4 now. Please support the official release. Dietaku: [00:05:16] Yes. Yes, please do. You cannot imagine how many hands and arms I would have given for something like this. About 10 years ago it wouldn't have been my hands and arms, but it would've been somebodies hands and arms. Cog: [00:05:32] Yeah. I mean, man, it's been really interesting actually doing this and going back through the series and everything because I personally have nothing but nostalgic feelings about Jojo. I mean, even when I found out they were doing the anime, my first thought was, oh, Jojo.Oh yeah, I remember that from high school. Also, I know the manga has been around from in Japan for like twenty five years. Dietaku: [00:05:55] It started in nineteen eighty six I want to say. Cog: [00:05:57] Right. But I mean it was so weird back then back in high school because if I talk to anyone about anime or Jojo like outside of the two of you guys at the time, I mean God forbid I brought up Jojo. I would just get these sideways. Looks like Jojo What's that? I love Naruto! But yeah, it's been interesting. I think I remember after the Dietaku introduced it to you, Mr Snek. You definitely schooled me on it because I can recall several days where we would sit and go through just chapter after chapter together of the manga scans. And then when we got tired of that, we would like take a break and go binge watch Kamen Rider because we were getting into our deep dive of Kamen Rider at about the same time. And then when we got tired of that, we would go play. It was it was like to Jojo PlayStation game at the time. Dietaku: [00:06:51] Yes. Heritage for the Future. The Hipster Snek: [00:06:53] Yep. Which was released on the PS1 and the Dreamcast. And even though I owned both, I had the PS1 version. Cog: [00:07:00] Yeah man, and I remember so many hours playing that game trying to get the WRYYY and the Dio steamroller combo and everything like that. The Hipster Snek: [00:07:10] For people who may have been lurking on the Internet for a long, long time. On Albino Blacksheep and several other flash animation websites. There was a compilation of Jojo soundbytes because there were actually Jojo games going into the PS2. Both for part 1 and part 5 and obviously the Part 3 game Heritage to the Future where stickmen would act out the different stand punch flurries. And we actually saw those out of context before we ever saw Jojo. And then we actually realized that's where you soundbytes had come from. It was kind of. Oh, wait, that's where that comes from. Kind of thing. Dietaku: [00:07:49] Yes. And I mean, just so people are clear, we are by no means fighting game aficionados, but we played these games to such a high degree and we knew the characters. So inside and out, we actually basically made our own tier lists and even had banned characters and basically got to the point where it's like if someone was to play as DIO or Jotaro and you didn't have a comparable character, you were officially that guy and you probably get punched. So yeah. The Hipster Snek: [00:08:23] That is true facts, especially when each of us started clicking into our own best characters. Similar rules had to be installed.   WARNING - Content beyond this point contains SPOILERS!    Credits: The Tomodachi Brothers are: The Hipster Snek, Cog and Dietaku. The Tomodachi Bros. Revue ep 0: The Interview
Hello, one and all!  This episode 0 contains a short prelude interview with the hosts of our show! Meet the bros, Dietaku, The Hipster Snek, and Cog! Show Transcript:  Alien Robot: [00:00:04] Hello. Hello. And welcome to your regular scheduled test of the emergency Dietaku system for your entertainment. We will now be listening to smooth jazz for the next 18 years. Fascinating. Dietaku: [00:01:04] Hello, everyone. I am here at the top of Tomodachi Brothers anime podcast with my fellow hosts, Mr. Cog. Cog: [00:01:13] Hello Everyone. Dietaku: [00:01:13] The one and only Hipster Snek. The Hipster Snek: [00:01:17] You can call me Snek for short. Dietaku: [00:01:19] And I am Dietaku the Tomodachi Brothers podcast was going to be a review show where we break down the plot characters, themes and various other points of shows chosen at random. Let's begin. Dietaku: [00:01:33] So the question here is what is the one, what is that one, the anime that got you really into liking anime Cog? What? What about you? Cog: [00:01:44] I would say first anime that really captured my attention was a show called Robotech. I found out later that was like a re-designed version of the show Super Dimensioned Fortress Macross and it was like the first series in what is now the Macross franchise. When I think back when I was a kid, don't exactly remember what age I was, but I felt like a lot of the western cartoon shows at the time were like really pandering to kids. There were really only a few shows that really grabbed me and kind of made me feel like, I don't know. They kinda respected my intelligence a little bit more and that was essentially Batman the animated series and when I found the show Robotech because, well, first off it, had jets that could transform into robots. But on top of that, it had a moving narrative. Cool characters that developed relationships or oh, man, even get killed! And then I think it was that adult content that really kind of grabbed me as a kid. After I got out of that shows stuff like Gundam was a super easy sell and I actually found out that some of my family members at the time were also really into anime and they introduced me to Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Princess Mononoke and some of the early Ghibli stuff. And I'll admit that kind of made me become a bit of a purist because I had this attitude like, oh man, if you've seen these movies or you don't own a copy of them, then you can't call yourself a real anime fan and ya I'd say probably at that point I was I was hooked. Dietaku: [00:03:16] Awesome. Fascinating. So, Mr. Snek, what about yourself? The Hipster Snek: [00:03:20] When I was a little kid. I saw episodes of Speed Racer, but I didn't even know that was from Japan till years later. The actual show that really hooked me and was Ronin Warriors. I had a lot of friends who were anime fans already who were watching, Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon were the big two, but I was like, Ronin Warriors is the coolest show from Japan, obviously. I loved that they took the essential superhero team formula, added elements of the samurai code of honor and all that good stuff. And it was just a really fun action series. And from there going forward, I was hooked. Dietaku: [00:03:58] Awesome. Dietaku: [00:03:58] As for myself, I know this isn't going to be original at all, but honestly, the first one I can remember that is mine was Casshern and I didn't even know that it was Casshern. It was just that one cool show where upon the one robot guy blew up a lot of bad robots and had a cool robot dog. It was years and years later that I discovered what it was, but it was Dragon Ball or actually Dragon Ball Z , the Ocean Dub. It really got me into it. Yes. Is it corny? Absolutely. Was it censored to all Heck. Also, yes. I mean, even as an 8 year old, when I watched it, I knew what they meant when they said, Ah! We're being sent to another dimension! I knew what it was. They were getting exploded. They were dying. But at the same time, the fact that they had the guts, kind of what you were talking about, their Cog, about the fact that they had the guts to actually kill the main character, at the very beginning of the show, that blew my mind when I was 8. And even though it's very silly, I still like it a lot even now. So that's what it is. Dietaku: [00:05:10] So moving on. What is your most beloved anime trope and what is your most loathed anime trope? Let's let's start off with Mr. Cog again. Cog: [00:05:21] My most favorite anime trope. I guess I like a lot of the big over the top. Courageous. Larger than life heroes. Stuff like Gurren Lagann and Gaogaigar. I guess that would be super robots. I also like a lot of hard science fiction and world-building and things, and Gundam has a lot of that. So I guess the answer would be Mecha and super robots in that case. Stuff I hate. I would say shows with like lots and lots of filler. I just. Dietaku: [00:06:01] Well, that's kind of just a consequence of, you know, the ongoing anime. Cog: [00:06:06] Yeah. See, that's probably one of the problems I have. I tend to enjoy more shows that feel, I guess more tight and focused vs some of these shows that just keep going on and on and on for like five, six, seven hundred plus episodes. I feel like most of them usually get really dull and just hard for me to get through. Dietaku: [00:06:29] Well, I recommend don't ever watching One Piece then because my goodness. Cog: [00:06:33] That's one. Yeah, that would be one that I have not gone through yet. Becuase I know it's like 70 percent filler. Dietaku: [00:06:40] Yes, it kind of is. All right. So, Mr. Snek, what about yourself? What's your favorite trope? And one you just cannot stand. The Hipster Snek: [00:06:48] My favorite is what's usually referred to as the shonen monologue, where all the chips are down. The hero stands up and explains. This is why I'm here. My friends are here. And basically, it's the bad ass boast. No, I've come this far. I'm not going to be stopped by the likes of you, sort of thing. Always gives me a chill down my spine when I see a really well-written one of those. That's definitely my favorite. As for least favorite. That's a little bit harder, I think. Well, I'll be honest. I think honestly, one of the most annoying maybe not a trope more of this maybe considered a genre thing. I'm not a fan of 90 percent of harem anime because they follow so closely to the old stock cliches. Nothing will ever adapt or change because someone will be mad at their wifu who wasn't the one that the protagonist chose. So the only option is no option whatsoever. Meaning that you just got done watching twenty six episodes of literally nothing happening. Dietaku: [00:07:56] Now I'd have to disagree with you on that one. Just because Tenchi is a thing and I know you're going to disagree with me on that. Cog: [00:08:02] Tenchi is a thing. The Hipster Snek: [00:08:03] Not not a fan. But to each their own. Dietaku: [00:08:07] It's quite all right. So for me, I am. Absolutely. I'm not even sure if there's really a name for it. Apart from maybe calling out your attack. Just the entire conceit of having an identifiable name for your special move is something that I think is distinctly Japanese and is something that I just can not really get into western comics for just the fact that I mean, I know it's silly, I know it's dumb, but it's just, you know, the fact that Spider-Man just. Oh, I shoot. They tried to do this in video games. Oh, I shoot my web in a particular way. It's the spider bomb or whatever. Except that they do it's very done very artificially. Whereas in anime, you know, you know, it's the Kamehameha, you know, it's the the One for All you know, it's, you know, the United States of Smash and what have you. Because they proceed to yell it at the top of their lungs and then proceed to do it. As for the most loathed I know, I guess I'm a little bit of a hypocrite because I just don't understand the entire Imouto little sister thing. As a man with three little sisters, I just cannot, for the life of me, understand why someone would be able to do that. It just breaks my immersion and I just don't understand. Anyways, so moving on. What do you look for in anime? What's that secret thing that gets you hooked? What about you, Mr. Cog? Cog: [00:09:44] Things that I definitely look for is stuff like animation style. Whether I like it or not, is it a focused show? Am I able to enjoy it from start to finish? Or is there a load of filler? Okay, look, let me retract some of what I said before. Yes, filler is a part of the production in anime, but when it comes to these shows where you can literally skip tons of episodes. I mean, Naruto comes to mind because you can skip multiple seasons of that show and never miss a beat. And when you can do things like that, it absolutely makes me feel like the show's a total waste of time because I mean, that stuff just always brings me back to when I was a kid and you get all hyped, becuase oh man! Dragon Ball Z is gonna be on and then you go watch it and Goku spends the whole time doing push ups or Vegeta would be charging for 20 minutes and just how much of a complete bummer that would be to watch. Dietaku: [00:10:43] I hate to break it to you Cog because that's the way it is in the manga too. He is 90 percent of the time Goku is doing push ups. Cog: [00:10:51] Right. But I mean, again, I'm gonna bring up Naruto. Once Jiraiya leaves and is like, "I'm going to go investigate the bad guys" You can literally skip. It's like a hundred and twenty, a hundred and thirty some odd episodes in there, all the way to the last episode of the show when he comes back. And is like,"Oh, by the way, I'm back." And everything in there is just this void circular fetch quests with just no substance whatsoever. But yes, tons of filler in a show. Absolutely. Turns me off. It's part of why I do tend to stay away from some of these longer shows like Shippuden, Bleach has this problem One Piece. But I mean, back to what I look for. I really enjoy shows with fast, fluid animation, focused, well-written shows, cool characters.I want to be able to enjoy the whole ride from start to finish without getting
