It was so all over the place and unorganized, I decided to ditch it and start over. I'm glad because it's amazing how much more focused you get when you write yourself a little plan to stick to. It's Not My Ffff I've been having this itch to record something, but at the same time, I didn't really want to commit to a date with someone. And so, my first solo show is born! Will there be more? Maybe. Only time, and my laziness, will tell.  I went on about a few things I've been meaning to talk about. And I feel like it would've been a much greater discussion with...myself... If I would have planned it out better. I rambled a few times, but I had fun editing so it should be an interesting listen. Next time I do this I'll definitely have more of a plan, and maybe, just maybe, a little more confidence. Things Discussed While talking to myself I went off course a tad. But I think I stuck to the main thing I wanted to bring up. Gaming has been a part of me for a very, very long time. I always want to make time for it, I always get excited for advances in the industry, I still love the hobby and don't plan on quitting. I went on talking about my struggles with finding time to game, and when I do find the time, how hard it is to be excited for new games these days.  This is a subject I KNOW I'll bring up again. Other Stuff to Do After a needed mini mental break, I'm finally mustering the strength to get this show posted. Ridiculously huge apologies to Elaine! I feel horrible, I do. But trying to move forward, let's keep going. Episode 11, if you never heard it, was probably one of my favorite shows I've ever recorded. I'm so happy to have had Elaine on these back to back shows. If you can recall, we discussed a few very real topics. It felt as if it took a toll after the conversation, so episode 12 was great to chase it with as it's much more laid back. We talked about fun stuff. I tried to not discuss gaming as that's our go-to hobby that many already know about. I wanted to focus instead on other things we enjoy doing. Today's Positive: An awesome show Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye! On this, the 3rd day of February. Elaine, etdragon, OG,  pioneer of pioneers, originator of originators, was awakened at sunset from her trash panda haven, and spoke to me in Elainese and said: I will join you on your show!  So here we are! Still in Groundhog Day mode like we wear top hats, this is episode 11 and I'm joined by Elaine! We went over a ton of topics ranging from kids and the absolute joys of parenting them, how it was putting out podcasts waaaaaaay back before the internet was invented, and going through gaming fatigue.  But most of all, what I think is the main focus, is our talk about mental health. Who You Gonna Call? Not the Turtles! TEN EPISODES! Isn't that amazing! At double digits now! It's probably ok to retire now, right? Call it quits after hitting this milestone. Well, for this episode it's a nostalgic trip to our childhood, as Al and myself go back to the 80's and 90's to talk cartoons!  So many different shows defined many a childhood growing up. It would be nearly impossible to mention them all, or even give most of them justice. Especially after talking about The Real Ghostbusters so much LOL. Survey Says! Two shows in a row! One more, and it'll probably be some sort of record for me. Also a record, is the amount of shows done by two guys who quit their last show because they could never get together to record. (That's us!) Yup, Beardy and I are here another week and we're back to our old gaming antics. But we're not discussing current trends and the new hotness. No, we're going back over the past 7 years and talking about the best games and experiences of the last generation. PS4 and Xbox One gave us some of the most memorable games of all time. Ani-mani, and Totally Insaney Beardy and I are back and we're tackling the heavy hitting issues of today. Like when is the best time to take down your holiday decorations. How you should decorate for Valentine's Day. And much more!  We get into the excitement and adventure that is raising boys. It's a full-of-surprises kind of experience where one minute you can be greeted with a hug, and five minutes later you're staring down the barrel of a nerf gun listening to the demands of a terrorist. Good times! Speaking of terrorists, the U.S. Capitol was sieged last week. And while I typically stay far away from such topics, we couldn't resist touching on this historic event. We shared our thoughts and we both felt like we held back from being more blunt. But bottom line is nothing positive or any understanding reasoning  can be taken from the events of that day.  Anyway, topics got away from us and it turned into a 1.5 hour show. Who knew! Christmas Call-in Spectacular Ok, fine, "spectacular" isn't exactly the right word, but let's not dwell on that! LEGO Loving Fools It's been over a year in post-production but I'm finally getting this episode out! Once again, apologies to Mr. Ve6a5 for slacking so much. As Long As We Got Each Other WELCOME to episode 5! FIVE! That's so exciting and so sad at the same time. It's ok though, because as long as we got each other, we got the world spinnin' right in our hands. Yeah, that does sound familiar, doesn't it? Guess you'll have to listen to figure it out.  Speaking of listening, it wouldn't be a podcast in 2020 without talking about the pandemic and quarantine living! Beardy McWhiskey, the man who broke up with me and ended our previous podcast is back for another episode of The Talking Place. It's the first call-in show! This week's bonus episode is focused on Black Friday. Get the Meat Sweats Welcome to episode 2 of The Talking Place! Joining me today is my former partner in crime, Beardy McWhiskey, along with one third of the Bad Fodder Figures Podcast, Matt Helmer. By day - or.. night, whenever - they're video gaming fools, but when it comes time to feed their families, they know how to cook their meats.  This show was recorded back in August, when I was still debating the name of the show. I'm sorry, The Lingering Table. I hardly knew thee.  It was a blast talking to these two gentlemen about their meat smoking techniques. We went over a lot of info like the differences between smokers, what flavor chips to use with what, their go to meal they prepare when they're looking to impress, tips for beginners, and even a few recipes were discussed! Welcome to Episode 1! The very first guest on The Talking Place is the man behind the curtain. If you're a part of the EZFM gaming community, you may know him as Ve6a5. If you're not then allow me to introduce you to Matt Ulvila.  He is the co-founder of 3thought, a visual communications company that helps businesses with logos, websites, rebranding, graphic design, you name it.  We discussed different ways to build a brand, going over a few tips on how to get started with ideas, and what to try and aim for with what you want. It's funny how this was recorded back in June but almost everything that was discussed I found myself going through the past few weeks while trying to get The Talking Place up and running.  There were numerous ways I could've introduced the show but I felt this was the perfect first episode. WELCOME! It's been a long time coming for this little project of mine. I feel like the thought of it has been bounced around forever, and the actual process of getting it going has been going on for months. But here we are! Episode Zero! The original plan was to have a bunch of episodes up and going when I launched, but yeah, that wasn't happening. Best thing to do was to just take the leap and try flapping. A few months ago I imagined I was going to be all ready, like a plane taking off, all my instruments in sync, me in control flying gracefully through the sky. But in reality I'm that guy in a cardboard plane outfit running off the side of a cliff hoping it works. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee! There isn't much to this as it's just an intro of sorts. Letting you know what I'm planning, what to expect, all that good stuff. So sit back, relax, and I hope you enjoy what I try to do.
