You could say Susan Gobbo is an expert on cultural shock: Her husband's job relocation to the United States 10 years ago was supposed to be temporary - until it wasn't. Gobbo, who was working as a successful physical therapist in Brazil at the time, found herself having to start over in a strange country where she not only had to learn the language but also navigate the everyday demands of raising a family, making new connections and becoming part of the community.
