Big announcements in this podcast! Go to www.stephencourson.me and sign up for the newsletter if you want more details along with weekly wealth building tips (only takes 5 minutes to read).I just did episode #100 of The Stephen Courson Show, the podcast about money and chasing modern freedom. Thank you to everyone for your support. What podcasting for 2 years has done for me… Increased my network I’ve developed 5 different skills (audio engineering, video editing, social media management, graphic design and communication skills) Skill stacking makes you dangerous and valuable Learned new ways to make money they don’t teach you in school If you can do something purposeful for 2 years, it will change your life, many times in ways we don’t think. And if you are going, I can’t do anything for 2 years…think about things you would consider bad habits. Drinking 2x soda a day Eating candy daily Only brushing your teeth 3x a week Those were habits I had for over 2 years and I was DEDICATED. I was consistent. What did it get me? 5 cavities 2 root canals in 2 years (only had like 3 cavities my entire life before that) $7000+ in dental fees Was 19lbs over my ideal weight We are creatures of habit and therefore consistent in our nature. We don’t like change. You are consistent at something. The question to ask yourself is this… “Are my habits driving me towards the life I want?” If not, then ask this… ‘If I could cut one bad behavior down by 50% today and stay consistent with it, what would that do for me?” Start small. Think long-term. Change your life. Announcements… I will be launching a series of products in 2023 designed to help you get from $0-$100k net worth quickly 4-7 minute videos on my YouTube channel Exclusive offers on LinkedIN (so Connect with me) Digital products meant to help you change habits, make more money and free up time So go to my website and put in your email address to stay notified and get a weekly newsletter

#099 Giving Thanks Despite Personal Struggles And The Dirty Secret About Chasing Happiness
For this Thanksgiving episode, I take some time to open up and give thanks during what has been a very challenging year.Cancer. Moving. New jobs. Young kids. All of it.It's really made our lives difficult and put us in a constant state of change. It definitely hasn't made us "happy" all of the time. And that's totally fine because we don't focus on being happy. Our focus is on significance. Things that have deep meaning. Our culture preaches that doing what makes you happy is the ultimate desired state. Society couldn't be more wrong. It's impossible to be in a constant state of happiness. It's also very shallow. If you had a loved one dying in a hospital, would you not go see them because that would make you sad and not happy? Of course not. You would drive there as fast as possible. Why?Because those last moments would be significant. We get it mixed up. We think that if we are happy, we will be grateful. But the dirty little secret is that its the opposite. When we are grateful, we will be happy.

#093 If You Want To Get Rich Faster, Change How You Get Paid
Heroes! If you want to join my wealth-building and productivity focused newsletter that takes 5 minutes to read every week, then go to my website https://stephencourson.me How do people like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos or the millionaire next door that's only 35 years old become rich faster than everyone else? They change one crucial thing about their income. They get paid off of the results they produce instead of the time they put in.In this video, I'll compare how an administrative assistant can do the same job in the same amount of time but double her income!Working an 8-5 job brings stability and income predictability. There's nothing wrong with that, but unless you're in the 1% of jobs like doctor, lawyer or some other highly-skilled job that gets paid $300/hr+, you won't become rich quickly.

#091 Why Thinking In Percentages Like Millionaires Do Is So Important During Recessions
Society and our poorly run education system teaches you to think in amounts. But people building wealth and millionaires think about money in percentages.Society: A $4 item that goes to $5 is a $1 difference. No big deal.Millionaires: A $4 item that goes to $5 is a 25% difference. That's a big deal. If nothing is different about the item, is it still worth it or can I find something similar? Do I even need it?That is why its so powerful to think this way.Now this is a small example but then multiply it to hundreds and thousands of dollars with credit card bills and mortgages and its life-changing.
