In the hay days of local television Phil was a Cameraman/Director at Adelaide's Channel 7 in 1971. The throught the 80's moved to Melbourne to work for Great Southern Films Then to Hong Kong and Singapore from the late and through the 90's Returns back to Australia in 1998 to Brisbane and works as a Freelance Director for the next 7 years. One of his projects was working with the late Steve Erwin of Crocodile Hunter Fame. Steve ventured to the remote part of Indonesian islands to observe the largest lizard in the world, Komodo Dragon. in 2005 tries something different and become a small business owner of a cafe back in Adelaide. Which bring us to 2013 and the creation of Brilliant Careers the ultimate video resume service. A Personal Marketing System for secondary school / university students and graduates as they seek employment. Startup Weekend is an intense 54 hour event which focuses on building a web or mobile application which could form the basis of a credible business over the course of a weekend. The weekend brings together people with different skillsets –primarily software developers, graphics designers and business people – to build applications and develop a commercial case around them. Joy and Resonance – Interveiw with Shan Watts of Joy and Resonance
Podcast with Shan Watts of Joy and Resonance Shan has held many jobs: From car cleaner through to Corporate Trainer and Operations Manager. She has her own businesses including a Clinical Hypnotherapy and Life Coaching practice and a Locum Medical Secretarial Service. She lost her Husband when her daughter was aged 2. She’s raised a daughter with Asperger’s Syndrome and Type 1 Diabetes. Spent 8 months living with her daughter in a 4 man dome tent and a 3 door hatchback, traveling up and down the east coast of Australia. She Threw in a government job, moved to Bega Valley Shire on the far south coast of New South Wales. Got a Job in Bega for a Local not-for-profit organization, co-coordinating social support and working with nearly 100 volunteers. Retrenched Then started a new Business ( Joy and Resonance) with a wealth of experience and a heart to change the world. In this podcast, we spend a fascinating 45 minutes chatting to Shan about her journey so far, her mentors, planning her steps in business and creating a boundless future. Crowdfunding is the application of this concept to the collection of funds through small contributions from many parties in order to finance a particular project or venture. &nbps Crowdfunding models involve a variety of participants. They include the people or organizations that propose the ideas and/or projects to be funded, and the crowd of people who support the proposals.
