Greg invites Bodhi Campbell on to the show. Bodhi is the Founder of The Bodhi Spot, a place for healing and transformation. Bodhi is also an ordained Unity Minister and a psychospiritual transformation coach. Everything we do in life is a practice, and that practice does slowly evolve over time. Bodhi entered into recovery 27+ years ago, and believes that working on men’s emotional well being is just as important as recovery work. [41:15] Giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin. [45:45] Men’s work is just as important as doing recovery work. [51:25] What does masculinity really mean? 004: You See the Real Beauty in People After You've Gotten to Know Them.
Dawn Shaw was born with a tumor in her face. After some risky surgeries, the tumor was removed, but half of Dawn’s face remained paralyzed. Dawn has had people come up to her handing her their plastic surgeons’ business cards and each time she refuses to take them. She likes her face! Just because she has a different face, does not mean she wants to surgically fix it. Her face is her asset. And no, just because she looks different does not mean she also has intelligence challenges as well. Greg and Dawn discuss our concept of what beauty is, the media’s fixation on it, and so much more on this week’s show!   Key Takeaways: [2:40] Does Dawn shit? [4:10] Dawn opens up about her facial paralysis and the tumor that was in her face. [8:30] What kind of challenges did Dawn face when growing up with a paralyzed face? [11:55] We end up enabling people to be assholes if we don’t call them out on their shit. You’re doing them a favor by letting them know they’re being a dick! [14:35] People often care what other people think, and Dawn teaches them that it’s important to ignore them and keep being themselves. However, with that being said, when somebody is telling you consistently that you’re a jerk, then perhaps it’s important to listen. It’s a fine balance. [21:50] Dawn gets treated a certain way because of her looks, and her niece, who has done modeling, gets treated in a very, very different way as well, because of her looks. Neither contrasts are good. [25:25] Dawn has gotten used to the looks she gets when she’s out in public. [29:50] You see the real beauty in people after you’ve gotten to know them. [33:30] The media really skews our sense of self and what is ‘normal.’ [37:40] Just because someone has a different face does not also mean they have an intellectual challenge as well. [39:35] What kind of routines does Dawn have that help her with her personal growth? [48:30] Dawn reads one of her favorite quotes by Neil Gaiman on why it’s important to make mistakes. [58:50] Want some of Dawn’s signed books? Visit her website! She’s got a great special happening.   Mentioned in This Episode: Shitshow.ws Guestspeaker.directory Plumberswithoutborders.org Facinguptoit.com Email Dawn: Dawn@FacingUpToIt.com

003: Integrated Energy Therapy and Theta Healing for Helping Children with Autism
Greg invites Dottie Williams onto the show to talk about releasing a completely different kind of shit — your emotional baggage! Dottie became deeply involved in metaphysical science when her son started showing signs of autism. Being a mom, Dottie searched everywhere she could for answers and to help her son cope with hypersensitivity issues. Today, he’s a healthy adult, with some quirks, all thanks to the alternative therapies Dottie learned.   Key Takeaways: [4:20] Dottie talks about her autistic son, and why she decided to go into metaphysical science. [10:00] What is integrated energy therapy or theta healing? [13:15] The cool thing about theta healing is that you don’t have to re-live the trauma. [24:20] All of this sounds kind of crazy, but the science behind this is really opening a lot of folks up on the use of more alternative medicines. [31:40] What kind of positive effects have these treatments had on Dottie’s son? [40:45] In the South Florida area? Visit Dottie! [46:40] We all have our own shit in our lives, so Dottie is arranging an event where everyone can come together and then transcend to a higher place. [52:25] How many dates does it take before Dottie feels comfortable with pooping in front of her partner? [54:25] What is one of Dottie’s mantras? [56:55] Don’t believe everything Dottie says. Research this for yourself too! Take what helps you and discard the rest.   Mentioned in This Episode: Shitshow.ws Guestspeaker.directory Plumberswithoutborders.org Heartlinked.com Call Dottie: 931-691-3421 Don’t forget! Amanda Spiller is a nutritional coach that cuts out all the bullshit! She’s straightforward, blunt, and yes, she also shits! Amanda drops some serious value bombs on how to break bad habits, and busts some food myths on what’s really good for you, vs. just good old marketing. The best way to tell if you’ve eaten well for the day is to classify your food habits under one of three categories: nutrition, entertainment, or addiction. If you’ve only eaten entertainment or addiction for the day, it’s time to eat nutrition!   Key Takeaways: [1:40] Amanda, do you shit? [2:35] Why does Amanda think people eat like jerks? [3:20] Why did Amanda decide to become a nutritionist? [7:10] What advice does Amanda have to those who really want to eat better, but just don’t? How does Amanda help her clients get out of it? [14:00] The problem is, sugar is a very widely accepted addiction. [18:45] Really do your due diligence when it comes to getting certifications. Sometimes they aren’t worth shit! [22:30] What is Amanda's favorite productivity tool to help her get shit done? [26:45] Nonfat yogurt is stupid! You need the fat in dairy. [31:05] Greg was a vegetarian for 8 years! Despite that, he didn’t get thinner. He was still eating badly. [34:35] Are these foods shit or the shit? Let’s find out! [46:00] Ask yourself if what you're eating right now falls under one of three categories: nutrition, entertainment, or addiction. If you’ve only eaten entertainment or addiction for the day, it’s time to eat nutrition! [46:35] Amanda, serious question, how many dates does it take to comfortably shit in front of a boyfriend?   Mentioned in This Episode: Shitshow.ws Guestspeaker.directory Amandaspiller.com
