Spotlight Authors: Noel Goin
"Psalm 91: God’s Promises for his Children" Author Noel Goin is our guest. 12/5/15 Hosts: Kinte Graycon Noel Goin attended the acclaimed John S. Donaldson Technical Institute in Trinidad, West Indies where he majored in Graphic Communications. After graduation he joined the faculty at Saint Mary’s College teaching Fine Arts and became a contributing artist and administrator after joining the Trinidad and Tobago Art Society. He partook in numerous one man exhibitions as well as joint exhibitions with other society members including exchange exhibitions with the Venezuelan and German Art Societies. He immigrated to the United States of America and obtained his Bachelors degree in Illustration at the California State University, Long Beach. While at CSULB he took part in several exhibitions including one at the Alpert Jewish Community Center of Long Beach. He was awarded a Scholarship from the Art Center at Night program from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Noel Goin furthered his education at the University of Southern California graduating with a Masters in Film Production with an emphasis in Digital Animation and was awarded a Nickelodeon Studios Fellowship. While at USC, Noel took part in several student exhibitions including workshops and screenings at the Directors Guild of Los Angeles. During this time he worked at the Culver City Unified School District as an ROP Instructor teaching students and adults both traditional and computer animation and also a senior student advisor to the animation Master’s program at USC. Noel Goin has worked as a college animation instructor at Brooks College and at the Art Institute of California- Orange County. He is currently employed at Encore High School for the Performing Arts as the Visual Arts Instructor further establishing himself as a consummate educator interested in helping young people learn through the visual arts. Noel Goin is the owner and designer of ‘Get Goin Designs.’ He specializes in creating public service announcements designed to educate school aged children. In 2015 he and his lovely wife Carla, worked together on their first colorful illustrated children’s book, ‘Psalm 91: God’s Promises for his Children.’ This book presents a child friendly look at one of the most beautiful of the Old Testament Psalm chapters. They are now working on a follow up to this well received book.

Hosts: Kinte Guest: Matt Bille Matt Bille is an author in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also a naturalist, historian, science writer, and defense consultant. A former Air Force officer, he is the author of over 20 technical publications and articles on space-related topics. He is the lead author of the NASA-published history The First Space Race: Launching the World’s First Satellites (2004), a groundbreaking account of the early Space Age. He wrote two books on the world’s rarest and least-known animals, Rumors of Existence (1995) and Shadows of Existence (2004), and is working on his third, tentatively titled Seas, Sharks, and Serpents. He has been a freelance contributor to reference books including Grzimek’s Animal Life Encyclopedia and the Nature Yearbook of Science & Technology. He is a member of the National Association of Science Writers and is a member of the History Committee of the American Astronautical Society. He appeared on two television programs on mystery animals and blogs on the latest science and technology news at Matt's Sci/Tech Blog.
