During the interval on Saturday’s St Albans Funk Show Dave Ellis found his way backstage to talk to some of the top musicians, singers and songwriter Tony Larking plus Nora, makeup artist to the stars..

Radio Verulam’s Dave Ellis Soul Show visited the team behind St Albans Funk at the local studio in London Colney where they are recording a debut album of songs written by local songwriter Tony Larking and friends Bryan Smith of local band The Push and Mo Pleasure top musician and former musical director of Earth Wind and Fire. Together with Meesh Jay former lead singer with Rebel MC this is a unique opportunity to find out how an album is put together by some of the worlds top performers right under our noses here in the great city of St Albans.

Not so much an outtakes programme, the Soul Show only has one ‘take’, but a few bits and pieces from past shows carefully chosen (or picked at random) to show what a wonderfully unpredictable, although some may say ramshackle programme the Soul Show can be, thanks of course to its broadcast from the legendary Soul Towers right here in St Albans.
