Encore: The Dark Night of the Soul
I am thrilled to be joined by Michael Mirdad. Michael talks about when events occur in our lives that we don't recognize or understand. These events situations, whether large or small may show up once, or repeat, and can seemingly ripple into every facet of our lives. When this happens we are left shaking our heads, asking ourselves why? Wondering why me? We begin self talk, rationalizing, trying to make sense of this. We try day after day to rise above, and no matter what we do nothing goes right. Really? Why cant I get a break? We can often experience, fatigue, emptiness, sadness, a sense of depression and disorientation. This is what Michael calls the Dark Night of the Soul. We talk about what it is, how to recognize this in our lives He shares the five stages that occur during this process. Why this process is even necessary for us to go through, what to do when you're experiencing it. How long does this last? Is there anything we can do to help ease this?

Encore: A Marine's Mission Grounded in Love
Karen and Colin Archipley created Archi's Acres in 2006, as Colin returned from his third combat tour in Iraq. The Archipley's original plan after Colin completed his military service was to be a husband-wife team helping with real estate sales and loans. But when he returned started working the farm that's when everything changed. What they've done is created a new way of transitioning the veteran community. What they have found in the case of PTSD is that the diagnosis isn't being made until a year or two after discharge. In part that diagnosis results from a failure to re-integrate the veterans back into civilian life through occupational transition. He said When you start doing multiple deployments your personality changes, and you get separated from the general public. Today they serve many in the Veterans Sustainable Agriculture Training (VSAT) provides military veterans a transition to civilian life.
