Matt & Nick of Buckled
CW = Addiction/ Depression / Suicide The latest episode involves the legends Matt and Nick from Buckled who have just dropped a ridiculously good album and are about to tour with No Fun at All (Shoutout to Emetic Art for the great work on the cover art). We talked about what went in to the process of getting the album together, the state of the music scene currently and some general chit chat about life. The biggest talking point from this episode is about Addiction (based off their single Addict) and how much of a stranglehold it can have on your life, how it affects you day to day and in extreme cases; people you know and love can be taken away from addiction. (I talk about my own experience, not for recognition but for normality) In a world full of ridiculous struggle right now, it's so imperative to look out for one another and build strong and healthy communities for all of us to not only overcome these demons, but to be done with compassion and understanding. End It All (Skype)
The second venture over to WA involves hardcore legends End it All. With a new release coming out really soon we sat down for a chat through zoom and got to know the guys, their backstory and what's next on the agenda now that shows are really starting to hit their stride. You also get a sneak peak of a new track at the end of this episode so listen through, or don't and just listen to the song, either way hype up End it All and get them over to the East Coast. Be sure to check their tunes out and buy threads through the legend at Loudmouth Records also. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Liam and Seras of Hell's Horizon
Joining me on this installment is Liam and Seras of Hell's Horizon. As per usual we get on to tangents but we ultimately talk back on the origins of the band, how long the process has been to play shows, transitioning in uncertain times, what's next for the band and much more. Recording is happening in the near future and expect a few more shows to round out the year. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Brendan 'Pip' of Blackblood Audio
A week after their show with Hadal Maw at The Outpost Bar, Pip and I managed a catch up at his recording studio to talk about everything that went down. As well as playing in two bands on the night, organising shows with interstaters is back on the cards and recordings booked months in advance for his studio, it's inspiring to see the love for it all still shine through and most importantly, seeing it all come together on the night. There's new Resin Tomb and Snorlax material happening, more Descent shows lining up and if you have any projects needing some magic, Brendan is your dude for it. Hosted on Acast. Adam and Tegan of TeamGlasses Records
The last time these two were on, Adam was promoting Vestige's 2nd release? and Tegan was on promoting At The Drive Pin and From the Floor Up festival, which coincidentally over a year later is finally going ahead (cheers pandemic!) We get to plugging the upcoming Diploid weekender shows, the ridiculous festival weekender FTFU starting at The Junk Bar, arriving at The Triffid and finishing off at Vinnies Dive with bands like Rage, Masochist, Blind Girls, Outright, Salt Money, Apparitions, Shackles and loads more. New cassette releases are on the way (so keen for Lies In Ashes) and vinyl is coming back into the Teamglasses stable. This was a fun chat and a great catch up with two beautiful human beings who love music enough to put these incredible shows on for everyone to enjoy. Hosted on Acast. Andy Kelly of Loudmouth Records
This was purely a zoom call for logistical reasons as Andy is based in WA, he's the current honcho of loudmouth and crosscheck. We talk about upbringing, what got the label going, how it's been going balls deep in a short amount of time and a bunch more random stuff. He's got loads of artists signed already and heaps more planned for the year, including a fundraiser in the near future so make sure to check out his website and all of his platforms to keep up to date with what's next from someone who is absolutely in it for all the right reasons. Ben Trotter of YDR (Your Daughters Records)
We get off track fairly often on this episode, we're two dudes who were raised in the sporting culture, what else did you think was gonna happen. When we were focused though we talked about the comeback of the record label which back in the day had up to twenty bands going at once, the eventual need for a break and finding the spark to come back. This weekend starts that venture again with Driven Fear playing at King Lears Throne and Vinnies Dive Bar with interstate supports Knife Hands and Idle Threat. Lots of love for Ben and look forward to seeing more from him this year. He also used to play in a band called Vomit Bullets (super catchy dirty punk sounding) which is worth checking out in bandcamp, apparently they still have vinyls.. Hosted on Acast. Ben Hudson of Distorted Youth
Big thanks for Ben coming on. He's a photographer based in brissy who predominantly shoots black and white, having a keen love for the same style I wanted to learn more. We talked about the differences between digital and film(he shoots on film, I shoot on digital, we both wanna get better at the other, it was really cool) we talked about some of the shows we've been too and taken shots at and basically where the love of photography started for him. I highly recommend his snaps, be sure to keep and eye on his work and send him a message if you like what you see. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Toby of Entrapment (Ex Bitter Lungs)
Sorry in advance, my audio is just fine but Toby is a bit quiet (Nice one pleb) we sat down at Rock City Studios for an impromptu chat about music and a lot of nothing to be honest. That's not entirely true, we talk about new music on the way for the band, how it came about, the next lot of shows and you get a sneaky listen to a new song if you listen all the way through; or just skip to the end I don't care, just support Entrapment and bring Southport back to its glory days. We also talked about throwing axes and funny show moments too. Entrapment play the Cooly Hotel this Saturday with Clowns and Coffin.. Winner's Win Hosted on Acast. Mikey of Violent Soho
Mikey was kind enough to invite me over to his place for a chat so we'll consider this a live recording. It was a real pleasure talking to someone with such knowledge of the industry and not even realising how long Soho has actually been around. I also had a short Tarot reading which was incredibly specific and freaked me the fuck out, but I absolutely love that kinda stuff too so thank you Mikey! Catch Violent Soho playing next month up and down the coast before some super cool stuff happens in the new year Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Bridie & Storm of Edentulous
If spooky, obscure and limit pushing artwork and photography is what you like, the Edentulous exhibit is what you're after. Named after a lack of teeth, you get an idea into the brainstorming and concepts Bridie has in being the mastermind behind the project. Storm as well as playing in The Royal Artillery and recently featured on Chassm's latest release has come on board and help build the exhibition into a continuing performance for artists to have a platform to perform. The next exhibit happens this weekend at the Station located in the Valley (near common house) with new show pieces and three noise/rock bands performing as well. You can follow them on Instagram for the latest showcases and next exhibits from there. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sarah Meharg of Revelation Groove
Between her lack of sleep and my 2nd dose of the spicy protector, We pushed through and had a great chat despite our struggles. We talked about Sarah's upbringing into the musical world, where it all started and what it's like what playing in a Latin / Jazz / Funk infused crossover as well as a multitude of other bands in her lifetime to date. She's currently singing in Revelation Groove with dates to come and has her own solo music on CD and through bandcamp you can check out. Couldn't be a more genuine human being and I can't wait to go check out her music live. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Jem of DEAD (Skype)
Locked down has been an enduring presence on the Melbourne right now which os why the guys in DEAD haven't been able to get on the road. Jem and I got to talking about the mental effects being put on those experiencing times of hardship while also trying to make a living in a pandemic. Trying to book and cancel ans reschedule then postpone (you get the idea) You can go check out their music on bandcamp (and most streaming services) and follow them through insta and keep track of when they come to play because it'll definitely be worth checking out their tunes are fantastic. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Dean of Salt Money / Lumens House
We tried to get the list of releases out from Lumens Records but even now I don't think we've got round to all of it. We talk about his old bands and releasing music under anonymity, big mental health chats and what's coming next for Salt Money and the record label. I'm absolutely sure he's involved in more so you should definitely check out this episode. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Borgy of Bad Habit Records
The latest episode features local caveman and all round family man Borgy from Silicosis and the owner of Bad Habit Records. We talk a lot of nonsense, it was ultimately a catch up for both of us since we know each other outside of the poddy. You should definitely support his record store if you're ever looking to buy or even put out merch/music through. I haven't had a chance to catch his band yet but I've heard they're filthy as well. This episode also has an unreleased Black Deity song which will be coming out in the near future at the end. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Tom Tanuki (Skype)
CW = Swearing and a bad microphone my end) In a fresh start to a new season of TSOE Tom Tanuki (Yelling at Racist Dogs, Independent Australia) and myself sit down for what will be regular chats discussing current topics plaguing the world and in this episode as an example taking a look at the 'Freedom Marches' and how these kind of toxic movements are formed and the kind of people they attract into their fold. We also touch base on experiencing people close to us that fall into these rabbit holes and start to spread misinformation as well as 'influencers' and grifters jumping on the bandwagon like Avi Yemini and Egghead as an example ( Will Connolly ) and how we can work as a community to weed through the garbage and follow the right advice. Cat of Nine Lives Media
If you haven't guessed this episode is definitely a guilty pleasure I've wanted to talk about for a while because I think everyone at some point thinks they can take photos for a living, get that perfect shot and have every opportunity thrown at you(myself included), but there is genuinely a lot more that goes into it all behind the scenes. Cat is an absolute gem with such a great eye for a candid snap and a bubbly personality it's no surprise to hear of her great reputation. We touched on the passion developing into a job as well as where it all started and what's next in store for the future. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Bragg and Polly of Mitch, Please / Freakshow Nightmare / Kids With Class Kicking Arse
We got lost in a lot of tangents, but it was super fun and a great time was had by all. We got Bragg and Polly from Mitch, Please, Freakshow Nightmare and frequent 4ZZZ presenters on to talk about what's going on with their current bands and future shows/projects as well as a brief background on what got them both into music and dealing with the new normal. You can catch these two beautiful humans playing this Friday at Tomcat with Wolfpack, Goon On The Rocks, and The Square Tugs and it'll no doubt be a fantastic show. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Elijah of Bled Out, Chassm, Daedric Armour, Watch you Die and The Royal Artillery
Another musician who can't seem to get enough of playing in multiple bands and me having to catch my breath every time I introduce him, Elijah and I had a fantastic chat about his upbringing into music, coping during strange times and the joy brought on by being on the stage. You can catch Elijah playing next weekend at The Station in Fortitude Valley then a support slot the following week for Justice for the Damned at The Brightside. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Tegan of At the Drive Pin / Swimdown Stitches / Teamglasses Records
Pins and badges were never really my thing until I started getting them when I buy cassettes from Teamglasses Records and found out Tegan was the legend behind it. We talk about recently signing her first band to the label (Regionals), putting on a music festival in the near future (Sneaky line-up announcement), and being able to use your passions as a drive to continue making art. Tegan's doing incredible considering her line of work outside of music has been pretty chaotic, it's a testament to sticking to what you love doing. Hosted on Acast.
