S1: Ep17 Managing Expectations While Having Gratitude with Jae Day
Managing Expectations While Having Gratitude with Jae Day   The lovely Jae Day joins Maegan in the garden to talk about managing expectations while in a toxic relationship. Life has so many expectations already and when we have high expectations with a narcissist it is really hard to stay grounded. Narcissists are good at empty promises and saying they will deliver your dreams to then turn around and abuse you and not deliver those expectations.  Finding gratitude in those moments can help ease the pain of the letdown, keep you connected with you, and raise your vibration to begin to gain your control back of your own expectations. Staying connected to who you really are is key in dealing with a Narcissist.       The Divine Self YouTube https://youtube.com/c/TheDivineSelf     The Divine Self www.divine-self.com   Social Media Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDivineSelf Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MaeganDivine/     The Secret Garden Podcast on ALL Major Podcast Channels (click below for a direct link)   iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-secret-garden/id1528679352   Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkLnBvZGJlYW4uY29tL3RoZWRpdmluZXNlbGZzZWNyZXRnYXJkZW4vZmVlZC54bWw=   Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/ecc98e21-ab44-4d92-8155-d8a2d784f78c/The-Secret-Garden   iHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-the-secret-garden-70625598/   Podbean: https://thedivineselfsecretgarden.podbean.com   Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5jrYTBblUIYKTkPs3qcLSA   TuneIn Radio: http://tun.in/pj0ND Alexa: http://tun.in/pj0ND Listen Notes: https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/the-secret-garden-the-divine-self-host-maegan-fzFlYgb_6Pw/   Also, on Deezer, Pocket Cast and Castbox

S1: Ep14 Surviving the Holiday Blues with a Narcissist with Kevin from The Royal We
Surviving the Holiday Blues with a Narcissist with Kevin from The Royal We Joining me in the garden I have Keven from The Royal We here to talk about the Holiday Blues or the Holiday “Boohoos” with a Narcissist. One of the biggest triggers for Narcissistic injury is when you have true joy and happiness. During the Holidays, Birthdays, Anniversaries, work promotions, weddings, and all the moments of joy, the Narcissist cannot stand watching you be happy, so they must take that away from you. They will project their innermost insecurities on to you and make sure to ruin these moments of happiness for you. They start to chip away one little moment at a time. In this episode, we give examples of how they do this and tools to use to survive these moments and empower yourself to not let these moments affect you for the rest of your life.  The Royal We on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjl9RgJSokTXPR68wsrX7Zw   The Royal We Live Chat on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCslDOe-8gV49Kg_j374OJVw   The Royal We Fellowship https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOdSOLD7yyDVmDNdQa0nveA   The Royal We - www.jointheroyalwe.com Facebook and Instagram @theroyalwehost YouTube @theroyalwe   Maegan’s Information “The Divine Self” YouTube: https://youtube.com/c/TheDivineSelf  The Divine Self www.divine-self.com   Social Media Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDivineSelf Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MaeganDivine/

S1: Ep13 The Narcissist is Our Soul Mate with Rebecca Dettman
The Narcissist is Our Soul Mate with Rebecca Dettman (aka Soul Doctor) So many people ask survivors of narcissistic abuse and domestic violence “why don’t you just leave” not knowing the trauma bond between the abuser and survivor is very powerful. Rebecca joins Maegan in the garden today to talk about the spiritual connection the survivor and narcissist have between each other and if the survivor is willing, allowing the narcissist to be their greatest teacher. The Narcissist is so good and finding your insecurities and using that to mirror you during the honeymoon phase of the abuse cycle to then use those same insecurities to abuse you and make you feel unworthy of love and a healthy relationship creating a pattern of abuse that is almost impossible to break free from.   Meet Rebecca Dettman: Rebecca Dettman began her career working as a national print journalist for a decade, before branching into radio and podcasting. She formerly co-hosted the ACRA award-nominated Soul Sistas national radio show and the global Love-Life podcast, before launching her own Soul Doctor Show in 2016, which has been downloaded more than 100,000 times worldwide.   Since 2005 Rebecca has also worked in private practice as a psychic consultant and channel for higher wisdom. S1:Ep12 Self-Care and Surviving Narcissistic Abuse with Suzanne Falter
Self-Care and Surviving Narcissistic Abuse with Suzanne Falter Suzanne Falter joins Maegan in the garden in this episode to talk about self-care. What? What is self-care? Most of us in abusive and toxic relationships have no idea what boundaries are and what self-care is or to process it and become so detached from our emotions that we learn to put others before ourselves. Narcissists love to erode our boundaries and make you jump through hoops to stay focused on them, so you let yourself go little by little. In this episode, Suzanne and Maegan discuss what self-care is, how to start to take care of you, and begin to see where you need more boundaries in life.   Meet Suzanne Falter: Suzanne Falter is a writer, podcaster, and essayist whose work has been featured in SELF, O, More, Tiny Buddha, and The New York Times. She is the host of The Self-Care for Extremely Busy Women and Back to Happy podcasts, and has been heard widely on podcasts and radio including Coast to Coast AM. S1: Ep11 Holding Resentment and Looking at Toxic Relationships with Paul Filan
Holding Resentment and Looking at Toxic Relationships with Paul Filan   Joining me in the garden is Paul Filan. We talk about looking at resentment held in the body that is left over from a toxic relationship with a Narcissist. When we hold resentment in the body we tend to attract more toxic people or even have to take a look at all the relationships in our lives to see if maybe they are no longer serving us in our values and goals. When we are gaslight, lied to, and exploited in toxic relationships we tend to lose ourselves and hold on to so much resentment for our abusers and in turn, can make us physically ill.     DivineEarthCo https://www.etsy.com/shop/divineearthco/   The Divine Self www.divine-self.com   Social Media Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDivineSelf Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MaeganDivine/   Suggested Reading Dodging Energy Vampires by Dr. Christiane Northrup https://www.amazon.com/Dodging-Energy-Vampires/dp/1401954790/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=dodging+energy+vampires+by+christiane+northrup&qid=1601757896&sr=8-2 Psychopath Free by Jackson Mackenzie (great for relationships with a Narcissist) https://www.amazon.com/Psychopath-Free-Expanded-Emotionally-Relationships/dp/0425279995/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=psychopath+free&qid=1601758526&sr=8-2

S1: Ep10 Toxic Cycles and the Relationship with Alcohol with Jenn Kautsch (aka SoberSis)
In the Garden today, I have Jenn Kautsch (aka SoberSis) here to talk about our relationship with alcohol and the toxic patterns we have on our life. So many of us in toxic and abusive relationships struggle with our relationship with alcohol as it became a tool to help numb us out from experiencing the abuse or even becomes our friend to help minimize the deep sadness and loneliness we are experiencing. This can give us even more anxiety as we already struggle with our relationship with a Narcissist. Jenn is the founder of Sober Sis. Sober Sis is a wonderful community of women to begin to explore their relationship with alcohol in a judgment-free and rule-free community of like-minded women to find connection and hold the space for one another as they take the journey into exploring their drinking habits. It is truly a divine sisterhood.   Jenn’s Bio: I'm Jenn (aka SoberSis). I'm a new empty nester and people ask me all the time what I'm going to do in this next season of my life. Well, you're looking at it. I feel passionate about making it safe for women to have a conversation about alcohol without judgment, labels, or rules. I'm a retired "grey area" drinker. Around the middle of my 40's, I was tired, feeling stuck on auto-pilot, and ready for a change. I didn't want to enter the big 5-0 the way I did 40. I took a closer look at my life. My health...mental, physical, and spiritual. I began to find out ways to have more energy, better sleep, and really stay present in my own life. I began to realize wine wasn't doing me any real favors. In fact, it was undoing a lot of my hard work during the day (I call it the detox just to retox loop). It had also become like an emotional crutch to lean on during times of anxiety or even boredom!   So, I started the 21-day reset for women because I wanted to share what I have learned and experienced first hand. Currently, over 8,000 women from all over the world have participated. We're more of a sisterhood and a real community of women pursuing being present and soberminded. Each person has the opportunity and space to renegotiate their relationship with alcohol. We are not a sobriety club although many of us do choose to enjoy an alcohol free lifestyle.   I've spent time taking a break from drinking without having to use willpower or feeling deprived. In fact, I'd say it has turned into more of a mindful lifestyle. Learning the science behind what my body/mind was experiencing has empowered me to make different choices. It's like I was living a somewhat divided life, constantly feeling in conflict and stuck in an internal tug-of-war. God really brought me freedom by bringing together the mind-body-spirit connection so I could live a more wholehearted life. That's how I want to live as I get closer to my 50's and beyond.   Sober Sis Links: Sober Sis Home Page - www.sobersis.com/home Free Guide - www.sobersis.com Free Video Series - https://www.sobersis.com/new-videos 21 Day Reset Challenge - www.sobersis.com/21daychallenge Follow On Facebook   ~   Follow On IG @sobersis   The Divine Self YouTube Channel https://youtube.com/c/TheDivineSelf   The Divine Self www.divine-self.com   Social Media Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDivineSelf Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MaeganDivine/

Elisa is trained in a technique called Fitzmaurice and we discuss how to use the voice, body, and breath to connect to your true self, find your voice and, release trauma from the body. During toxic and abusive relationships, we tend to shrink down and lose our voice and disconnect from who we truly are. It is hard to find a connection to ourselves after we leave a narcissist who has mentally and emotionally abused us or find our voice when finally deciding to put boundaries up with the Narcissist. We open you up to explore where you might need to work on finding our voice or where in the body you are holding unwanted negative energy.   Connect with Elisa to do a Fitzmaurice Workshop https://www.fitzmauriceinstitute.org/new-gallery-teachers-back-up/2017/11/30/elisa-gonzales   The Divine Self YouTube Channel https://youtube.com/c/TheDivineSelf   The Divine Self www.divine-self.com   Social Media Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDivineSelf Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MaeganDivine/

S1: Ep5 The Pressure Cooker-Narcissist Victims Syndrome with Tom Murry
Back in the garden, Tom Murry and Maegan discuss Narcissist Victims Syndrome and the pressure-cooker of a toxic and abusive relationship. When your soul is slowly being chipped away at and your values destroyed you start to be under so much pressure that you feel like you're going to die. The stress can be so bad from being in these relationships that they physically make you ill and you eventually get angry.   What is healthy anger and how do the people in your life support you with this anger so you can release the trauma and let go of the patterns in life so you can have a happy and healthy relationship.    The Divine Self YouTube https://www.youtube.com/c/TheDivineSelf/featured   The Divine Self www.divine-self.com   Quoted in this episode:   Abraham and Esther Hicks https://www.abraham-hicks.com/   Dr. David Hawkins on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZOPIbidfIQ   Les Brown https://lesbrown.com/

S1: Ep3 A Man's Perspective on Narcissistic Abuse with Tom Murry
When we think of toxic and abusive relationships, we mostly think about women. In this episode, Maegan dives deep into a discussion with Thomas Murry and how men are abused, manipulated, and exploited all the time just like women. Men tend to not walk to talk about their experiences as our society tells them to “be a man” or “it's not that bad” and they suffer in silence. Maegan realized this was a hot topic when doing her coaching from her YouTube channel and more men than a woman reached out devastated from being in the wake with a Narcissist. Tom Murry was Maegan’s neighbor in New York City, and they were close friends for many years. As Maegan fell down the rabbit hole with her Narcissist, Tom was there to coach her through the tough times as he had been down the rabbit hole years before. Both Tom and Maegan discusses in this episode how important it is to have grounding people in your life when in an abusive and toxic relationship and that those people will save your life.   Maegan’s YouTube Channel The Divine Self https://www.youtube.com/c/TheDivineSelf/featured The Divine Self Website www.divine-self.com
