If you want to be healthy, adopt sustainable habits. Here's how.
Are you ready to adopt sustainable habits that help you feel better, be more productive, and achieve more success? When you adopt sustainable habits you can create sustainable change in your life, mentally and physically. Best of all, you can create sustainable habits without feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.  If you have felt stuck or like you are struggling in any area of your life, it may be time to adopt sustainable habits for a healthier version of yourself.  It’s time to play Many times, especially once we hit mid-life, we feel something, go to the doctor, and he or she gives us a laundry list of things to do. This is overwhelming and oftentimes, things are forgotten, or it feels impossible to keep up with them.  Janet uses her PLAY method to help people adopt sustainable habits to create sustainable change in their lifestyles.  Robyn emphasized that people often use anxiety or hormones as excuses. Maybe symptoms or feelings are related to these, but they aren’t excuses. You must take action to navigate them instead of staying stuck using them as excuses. You can’t overcome struggle without action.  What is PLAY and how to use it to adopt sustainable change and create sustainable habits?  PLAY stands for Please Look After Yourself. Janet suggests that when change is necessary, start with your vision. What is the vision you have for yourself for your future? She mentioned the 5 Why’s, which were also referenced in episode 224 when talking about problem-solving with Sarah K. Ramsey. Janet emphasized that when you are aligned with your vision and your why, you can create sustainable change.  Your vision and your why are important when you want to adopt sustainable change Identifying your vision and your why is the first part of the PLAY method.  Second to identifying your vision and your why is recognizing that you do not have to go to a gym.  Janet referenced the Blue Zones by Dan Butner. One of the things that Dan discovered is that people who lived the longest and healthiest never went to a gym. They simply incorporated movement into their day. This is natural and playful. For example, gardening is a form of movement and is playful.  The minimum amount of movement everyone needs is 20 minutes a day or 150 minutes a week – this recommendation is the bare minimum to fight chronic disease.    If you are struggling go back to when you were a kid and what you enjoyed doing. Robyn referenced using the same concept to tap into creativity. More on living a healthy lifestyle. The third part of PLAY is to keep it simple.  Janet believes that when you are healthy and playful, life is better.  She is also the author of The Playbook, How to Get in the Habit of Good Health.  Learn more and connect with Janet on her website: Janet Omstead.  Have you or someone you know been struggling with anxiety? Lean into faith to find purpose
When you feel lost, confused, or even empty, lean into faith to find purpose. So many things in life can distract us but if we lean into faith to find purpose, God will show us what He has created us for. He will carry us through each season of the journey. Do you put God in a box? Susan shared her philosophy that people often walk the path right in front of them, for example, do what their parents did, go to college, join the family business, etc. It's often because they don't see another path. She thinks the path is already inside us, and maybe we are supposed to begin that path, that journey so that other people can follow us. Throughout the seasons, Susan feels like she has learned and simplified her life. The seasons and experiences along her path are what drove her to a deeper connection with God. She's developed rhythms and practices to connect to him, not connect with him through someone else. Our walk of faith is important, but what is more important is our connection with Him. He wants a relationship with us, but not through someone or something else. Sometimes it's walking through a tough season that brings us closer to a deeper connection with God. Intentionally create a space to connect with your creator, God. He will remind you whose you are and who you are. The outflow of that connection will help you put your hand in all the things he's calling you to do. Building a relationship with God versus going through the motions God wants us to have a relationship with Him. Yes, there are rules, but what He really wants is not fear, but faith and relationship. Without the relationship, we can't have true communion and communication with him. She is awakening, a seasonal journal series to you lean into faith to find your purpose. Susan is a multi-passionate woman. She's an abstract artist, a mom, and a podcaster. She found that where the fruit came from in her life was outside of the church. It made her want to share the light of Christ outside the church. God is so big that people experience Him everywhere and in unique ways. Creating her personal brand as an artist was a struggle. She was so used to everything being pointed at God that she was afraid of drawing attention to herself instead of toward God. Susan emphasized that God is the one who made and designed you. Even if it doesn’t make sense, because of what you see around you, He’s got a purpose for you. It may not be what you think it is supposed to be, but He has a purpose for you. Get still and lean into faith to find purpose. Psalm 46:10 - He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”   Read the full show notes.    Access the She is Awakening Seasonal Journal.    Download the free eBook - Ten strategies to start and grow your business without social media.

Women thrive in community
Are you ready to thrive and help create the domino effect of good in the world? A known fact is that women thrive in community. When they have the support and love they need, when they feel empowered, they create change and empower others. Being a speaker is possible. It may take overcoming fear, and nervousness may prevail, but it is possible to get on the stage and share your story. In addition, speaking on topics you are passionate about helps ease anxiety, fear, and stress around speaking. Listen to episode 206 in which Moira Ni Ghallachoir shares how to leverage public speaking for financial freedom. Raimonda emphasized how challenging it is to become an entrepreneur on your own. A key to success is building a community around you. A community of like-minded individuals. Creating a safe space because women thrive in community Raimonda saw a need that women had. They needed a safe place to share and ask questions. In addition, they needed resources. Building her community to inspire and help others began with a free event. From there, she created a membership. Women empowering women In her 20s Raimonda went through a traumatic experience and as a result, lost her voice. But gathering women in a community helped her realize that she wasn't alone. Many women go through myriad challenges and when they come together they can not only support each other but overcome. Having a safe space to share your story builds confidence and strength while inspiring others to do the same. Stories are connectors When we share our stories, it enables us to connect more freely. Robyn emphasized that any time we share our stories, we provide an opportunity to empower other people. People often don't see their journey as a story that can influence others. When we share our stories, we create a domino effect of good by helping others see the impact that telling their stories can have. Raimonda shared that stories are at the cornerstone of everything she does because sharing stories allows others to know they aren't alone. Shame and fear hold people back from sharing their stories or journeys. As a result, they stay stuck. But once a story is told and someone resonates with it, a new opportunity for inspiration, encouragement, and empowerment is brought to the surface. "It's so much more than sharing a story. Sharing a story can change lives." ~ Raimonda   Read the full show notes.    Learn more about and register for the Women Thrive Global Summit

You need "TIME" to create a brand story
Curious about how to connect with your soulmate clients? Create a brand story using the TIME method. When you create a brand story that resonates with your audience you can experience a steady stream of clients. Authors, artists, and creatives often have a difficult time creating personal brands. Art is subjective and as a result, it is an exercise in vulnerability to share your work and put promote yourself through personal branding. Vulnerability is a common denominator for all of us entrepreneurs. Others often see us differently than how we see ourselves. Therefore, it is helpful to hire a coach for a new perspective, an eagle's eye view, of your business so that you can create your brand story effectively. You don't know what you don't know and help may be necessary. Using "TIME" to create a brand story Sarah created the "TIME" method to help entrepreneurs create a brand story that attracts their ideal clients. Branding takes time. Like any great thing, creating a personal brand takes time. Success doesn't happen overnight. TIME = theme, intention, momentum, and empathy.    Read the full show notes and access additional links.    Register for the summit and access valuable content to help you grow your personal brand.    Download free resources on how to build a personal brand without relying on social media and how to build a solid foundation for long-term success.

Strategies for effective problem-solving with Sarah K. Ramsey
Many people struggle with effective problem-solving. Effective problem-solving is influenced by many factors, especially if you are a people pleaser, are overthinking, or are stuck in indecision. Being a people pleaser makes effective problem-solving a challenge People pleasers make decisions based on a few thoughts: Will I make the other person (people)  happy? How do I do the right thing - which is usually about keeping other people happy? What if people judge me and don't think I'm a good person anymore? People pleasers often do not have the ability to effectively make decisions. When you can't make decisions, you can't effectively problem-solve. Using a decision process help achieve effective problem-solving Sarah uses the analogy of taking spaghetti decisions and making waffle decisions. Spaghetti decisions are multi-faceted situations, they are complex with multiple people and challenges involved. When facing spaghetti decisions, you must waffle them down. Break down the decisions by individual problems. Not all problems are the same. When problem-solving, it is especially important to break out the emotional problem from the more tactical or strategic problem. People pleasers often have perfectionism and want to take care of everyone else first, putting themselves on the back burner so to speak. People often block the solution for practical problems with emotional problems. In order to problem solve, you must separate the two. Sarah used the example of public speaking. You may be nervous about speaking, but you also need to figure out what to say. Two very different problems. But the emotional problem of being nervous can block the ability to figure out what to say. Know the problem you are trying to solve Before you can solve a problem, you have to know the problem you are trying to solve. Instead of asking "why", ask "what problem am I trying to solve". Then ask "what problem am I really really trying to solve". And yet again, ask "what problem am I really trying to solve". Doing this exercise will help you achieve clarity around the problem. Information is available to us, but if we don't know the exact problem, we can find the solution.   Read the full show notes and access all links.

Anxiety is not an excuse
The prevalence of anxiety is on the rise. In the past two years, the prevalence has increased by 25% – mostly in women and youth. Anxiety is not an excuse for staying stuck, procrastinating, or making bad choices, whether in life or business.  Let’s look at what anxiety is and is not. What is anxiety? Anxiety is an abnormal sense of apprehension and fear that is often marked by physical signs and symptoms. When one is anxious, they have self-doubt that they will have the ability to cope with the situation or person making them anxious. Being nervous is different than anxiety. When you are nervous, you may feel like being anxious, but the difference is that once the situation is past, you have done the thing, and you feel better. With anxiety, doubtful what-if thoughts continue to come into your brain and you don’t have a sense of peace. Worry is more of a dwelling on negative thoughts, and I believe it’s a choice. It’s possible for worry to lead to anxiety, but the worry is not genetic and despite environmental triggers, worry is something you can choose to stop whereas anxiety may not be without help from a therapist or medication. It is important to differentiate between the three – anxiety, nervousness, and worry. A pet peeve of mine is hearing people say they are behaving a certain way or making certain choices because they have anxiety. Anxiety is a clinical diagnosis but that doesn’t make it an excuse. Who has anxiety? Approximately 31% of adults in the US have anxiety. Women are twice as likely as men, 23% versus 14%. Only 37 percent of people with anxiety seek treatment. As I mentioned before, the prevalence of anxiety has increased by 25% over the past two years, most often in women and youth. Anxiety is not an excuse for not taking action in life and business Anxiety may increase your level of fear, or it may keep you stuck in a cycle of doubt, overthinking, and indecision. And, anxiety may cause you to think you want to give up. But you have a choice. You can choose to let anxiety control your thoughts, emotions, choices, and behaviors, or you can choose to take action to navigate anxiety and take control of your thoughts. Abundance follows your unique purpose with Melissa Evans Hughes
You have a unique purpose! And if God is calling you to it, he will provide all you need to accomplish it. God has given you a unique purpose and unique gifts to use to serve others. People often lose sight of their unique purpose because of the chaos of life and the distractions of the online world. But as God’s children, we were born for a life of abundance in hope, grace, and love. Also, abundance financially if we follow our purpose and use the gifts God has given us. When we accept God’s unique purpose for us, it can lead to an amazing life and legacy. If you sit on your purpose and don’t act on it, you are doing a disservice to the world. When you don’t live in your purpose, you may have the money, but you won’t have the joy. What is your intuition telling you about your unique purpose We are all born with the gift of intuition. But what you do with it is up to you. Melissa stressed that when you hear or feel your intuition, you have to make a decision. Deciding is a powerful place to be. However, sometimes we open the door to our purpose, and we don’t understand what we opened the door to. But you have to decide that you are ready to go – really to follow the purpose. Be unapologetic about your decision and don’t let others influence you to ignore it and stay put. Take inventory of your gifts and talents. You have unique abilities. These are transferable skills that you can take with you from your corporate career to starting a business. Look at the contributions you can make to humanity, and to the world. Then, ask yourself how you can create a business around these unique gifts. Lastly, make sure you are positioned in the marketplace. Corporations may not want all of you, but as an entrepreneur and business owner, you get to be all of who you are. Don’t dim your light because of others. Be all of you, not just what you do, but all of who you are.   Read the full show notes and access links.    Do you want to start and grow your business with simplicity, ease, and grace? Happiness leads to productivity with Rita Ernst
You have the choice to start behaving in a way that makes you happy, which will lead to more productivity. Happiness can seem elusive, out of reach. Sometimes, as entrepreneurs, we lose sight of what we value most, our cup gets empty, and we lose the sense of happiness. You can personally create your path to happiness There are three essential things that all people need to achieve their fullest potential in relation to contributing to the workplace. Autonomy to grow and have a sense of freedom Contributing - show our competence Affiliation - connection and community so that you don't feel isolation and loneliness The burning platform of change means you have to take action and create change. Your happiness in your work depends on autonomy, contribution, and affiliation. When those three things are present, we feel happy, we feel like our cup is full. Then we will produce our best work. In producing our best work, we create reinforcement. Happiness is the pathway to productivity but then there is a self-reinforcing loop once we begin producing what we want. It is also motivating to produce the results you desire. Change your behavior and don't wait for someone else to change Show Up Positive Rita wrote the book, Show Up Positive to address changes in the corporate climate resulting from Covid. During Covid, we lost community and autonomy. Commiserating quickly becomes complaining and when we start complaining, it starts a snowball effect of complaining and it erodes relationships within your business and in relationships. Comparison, doubt, and imposter syndrome escalate when complaining takes over conversations. Biologically we are programmed to need to know danger for survival. We are preconditioned, self-alert, to things that put us in danger, including our self-worth. And we give more attention to the negative things than positive ones - Negativity Bias. The only way to overcome the negative is to insert the positive. Rita used the analogy from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey, build a bank account with good messages so that when negative things happen you don't go into the red.   Read the full show notes and access all links.    Download the free eBook - 10 Strategies to start and grow your business without relying on social media.

Do you get enough sleep? with sleep expert Tanessa Shears
The right sleep can transform your life and business. Sleep is imperative for clarity, consistency, energy, and positivity. When you get the right type and amount of sleep you will achieve more goals and have more success. Sleep is a foundation that supports everything else in our life and business. When you have a bad sleep, how likely are you to show up in your business, or exercise, and how irritable are you? The complications from a lack of sleep Without sleep, your brain doesn't fully recover during the night. The science behind sleep is that you have spinal fluid that will give your brain a bath and clean out the metabolites and toxins you don't need. When you wake up foggy, you most likely didn't get enough brain restorative time. That happens during deep sleep. The other end of the spectrum is time spent dreaming. This phase is the mental restoration needed for mental health. This gives us a balance check for our emotional state. When you have good sleep, you have better clarity, are more creative, can problem-solve, and can read expressions and body language better. These things factor into being a good entrepreneur. Without good sleep, you aren't as productive. Sleep helps you show up and make good decisions to achieve a successful life and business. Read the full blog post and access all links.

Create compelling copy that converts with Kris Jones
Have you avoided writing for your business because you believe you aren't a good writer? Whether you believe yourself to be a good writer or not, following this method you can create compelling copy that converts. To create compelling copy that converts, think about telling a story. Your audience becomes their own here while you are their guide to get to a specific solution. You have a story to tell Every experience you've had has led you to where you are today. You have the expertise and God has placed a calling on your heart to serve others who need the gifts and talents you have garnered on your journey. There are people waiting for you to tell your story so that they can connect with you and build a relationship with you and ultimately hire you to provide the solution they need. Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller Beautiful design for your website means very little unless it's paired with meaningful copy. With meaningful copy, your website can become your biggest marketing tool. Storytelling is an essential part of being your own brand.  Copy and SEO Robyn emphasized that you can't have good search engine optimization without good copy. Your copy should have good readability and include the use of keywords and key phrases throughout. In addition, it should be separated by headers and subheaders for readability. The written word connected with beautiful imagery helps you build an emotional connection with your soulmate clients. Include professional images of yourself on your website that help tell the story you are sharing through your copy. Images are also a good opportunity for SEO. How to create compelling copy that converts in five minutes Kris explained that when we've been in our niche for a period of time, we forget that other people don't know what we know. She calls this the curse of knowledge. We may talk over our client's heads or simplify it down to something that doesn't engage them. Kris's method for storytelling can be broken down into three parts. Hero. Every story has a hero with a problem that they don't know how to solve. Guide. Hero's meet a guide that can solve their problem and help them be the hero of their story. You are the guide. Success. The guide provides the hero with a plan that guides them to success. This process is more about inviting your audience into the narrative with you than telling a story. This way they see themselves in the story together with you. This is a helpful process to use to create compelling copy that converts. If your copy makes you the hero, your audience will be less likely to get pulled into the story because they want to be the hero. Read the full show notes and access all links. Want to be a leader, do this! with Shea Smith
Do you consider yourself a leader? Women tend not to own their leadership roles. We are often accidental leaders and forget the experiences we’ve had that make us a leader. If you are questioning whether you are a leader, look back on all your experiences and how you’ve led in the past. Maybe your leadership roles began with student government. Maybe being a chairperson of a committee. The role of vulnerability in leadership Doubt, a lack of confidence, and insecurities often prevent us from seeing ourselves as leaders. However, a lack of confidence does not mean you cannot be a leader. There are other assets that contribute to one being a successful leader. Shae suggested that the best thing you can do to model what a successful businessperson looks like, what a leader looks like, is to share these feelings with your team. Let them see the work you are doing to gain more confidence. You are not expected to be infallible or perfect. Vulnerability is where leadership really excels. Robyn emphasized that the more we accept vulnerability, the more we can grow and the better we are able to lead. No one perfect. If you are struggling with perfectionism, delegate being perfect to someone else. Perfect is not in the definition of being a leader Being a leader is not about being perfect, it is about being the point person. Delegate things to others so that you can take care of yourself as a leader. Otherwise, you won’t be able to be present as a leader. Myths of what true leadership is Some of the myths of being a strong leader include: You have to be high up in a company Speaking from big stages On a pedestal so to speak You can lead right where you are. It is about having a mindset shift to own your leadership authority. You can lead right where you are and doing so will help you become a better leader as you grow and get to higher levels. How to begin to see yourself as a leader As a leader, you are also a cheerleader. You are acknowledging every win, every milestone, every success along the journey. In addition, you are holding it all together, whether leading your family or leading a team within your business. Celebration is the most underutilized tool in entrepreneurship. Celebrate everything. Don’t wait to celebrate once you achieve a big goal. Celebrate throughout the journey to avoid becoming exhausted and burnt out. Shea uses her staircase method when working with her clients. To start and grow a business you need these strategies
Do you struggle with knowing where to begin to start and grow a business? If yes, you are not alone. With all of the chaos online, it’s easy to get distracted, confused, and discouraged. If you don’t know where to begin to start and grow a business follow these strategies. The number one mistake people make when they attempt to start and grow a successful business – is they don’t build the foundation first and the result is doubt and confusion. Both result in a lack of confidence and a lack of trust. Build the foundation first Building the foundation doesn’t mean starting with social media.  Start with creating your personal brand, and then move to the critical strategies provided below.  It means starting with the foundational elements, which are:  Faith – ask the Lord to be the foundation of everything you do. What feels impossible is possible with him!  Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. Don’t wait to begin mindset work. It is important to address negative thoughts of doubt and fear from the beginning. In addition, it’s important to avoid distractions because they will induce doubt which leads to confusion, and fear. Here’s an example of how your brain will distract you. I had a conversation with a 1:1 client yesterday and she said she was questioning her pricing – she thinks she’s charging too much – there is zero proof of this thought. In fact, when we set her packages and pricing she felt confident in them. But one thought drug her into the basement of despair and doubt over her entire business model.  You have to trust yourself or you people won’t trust you. Start with systems and processes, SOPs, create your package, and set your pricing. This is key if you want to start and grow your business for long-term success. Without systems and processes in place, you will not be able to serve your clients effectively and may lose referral opportunities. This step includes defining your soul mate client. What values and characteristics do you want and need them to have? What do you need them to believe about you and themselves? For example, they are ready to invest time, energy, resources, and money, they believe in your offer, they trust you, and they trust themselves to make decisions. These are all important for creating copy for your website and building trust with your audience. You NEED a website – you do not need social media – start with SEO-ready pages and blog posts – at least three with CTAs. Think about credibility. If someone is using social media to build their business and does not have a website, are you going to trust their credibility? A website is your introduction to the world and it is your opportunity to connect emotionally and build trust. Build your email list. Start with your community – they know you and trust you and are willing to share you with their community. Give them an opportunity to follow you on your new journey or to unsubscribe. Stay front of mind.   If you want to start and grow a successful business the key is my success equation, mindset + strategy + action = results. This is the basis of my Purpose to Results™ Method.  Download the free eBook: How to build a solid foundation for long-term success.

Every brand marketing strategy needs Pinterest with Kate Ahl
Pinterest marketing is an incredible tool that every online business should be using as part of their brand and business growth strategy. It isn't only a DIY resource, it is a powerful tool for search engine optimization for your online business. Pinterest marketing is search engine optimization at its best. Using a Pinterest marketing strategy helps to drive traffic to your website so that you can attract more clients. Where does Pinterest fit into your overarching brand marketing strategy? Kate describes Pinterest as similar to Google and YouTube. It is a content element. People use Pinterest as a place to seek answers to their problems. They do not care about you, they care about the benefit they can find by solving their problem. Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok are platforms where people go to get to know you. Think of Pinterest as a bicycle wheel with the spokes going out. You are identifying with cold users who aren't interested in your brand yet, they are interested in what you have to offer. You have to approach Pinterest differently than how you approach Instagram or other social platforms. Pinterest is a long-game approach to brand marketing, like Google and YouTube. You must make the decision to invest in Pinterest for one to two years and the momentum will build like snowballs. Read the full show notes and access all links.
