We continue our journey with the great Cassi O'Peia! Cassi is a successful Novelist, Blogger, candlemaker, and Podcaster and in this episode, we pick up where we left off discussing her first Novel about Jack the Ripper. The Sisters power couple left an inspiring impression upon me in my own life and it was a blessing to have them on the show. Garry “Moog” Roth is a master artist and storyteller within the circles of The RiosVerse, and he also just so happens to be one of my best friends in this Life. Garry and I met in the early years of high school and have been almost inseparable for the majority of the time since. *almost 20 yrs, sighs in “old”* In this episode we talk about how life tricked us into abandoning our fate to claim our Divine titles of “best film directors in the world”, as well as how those dreams are still present but needing a different path to realization. The Muses have not abandoned us yet! We cover his time as one of Orlando’s most beloved body painters and also the unfortunate competitive nature of the art world. We take a detour into tale about the connection between obesity and chicken soup and finish with how as grown Men we will never surrender our right to wear cargo shorts. The Paper Crowns Podcast has been away for far too long, but we are BACK with a revitalized focus of pursuing the artist’s Journey of Creativity! This episode we talk about our time away and the struggles faced there in. We also talk about the artist’s purpose in life and how the world needs a universe of creativity to overcome the trials of today.

It has been a long and emotional Journey of Understanding as to why it is so important to say that BLACK LIVES MATTER. As we continue to navigate these times of sorrow and civil unrest it is key to understand the path to which brought us to this place. This is why The RiosVerse and The Paper Crowns Podcast felt it was imperative to create this series of episodes exploring Black History and the plague of Systemic Racism that is apparent within our country. Our goal was to educate friends and family on either side of the isle as well as those in between. Although it is our feeling that there is only one way to correctly view these times, we must not forsake those who still have kindness in their hearts, even though their perspective may be misplaced. It is through a dialogue and respect that we must hope to appeal to the better nature of those who stand opposed to reason. In past episodes we covered the pain of slavery, the frightening sins committed during Jim Crow and Reconstruction, as well as the birth of the Civil Rights Movement. During this episode, we dive deeper into that movement and the corruption of a government hell bent on reclaiming control over the Black Community. We discuss, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., The Black Panthers, The War on drugs, The Prison Industrial Complex, and Police Reform. The RiosVerse & The Paper Crowns Podcast continues to stand in solidarity with BLACK LIVES MATTER. In efforts to help bring a level of Understanding & Empathy to the movement, we continue through a timeline of Black History to build clarity to the struggles of that community. We hope to instill a great amount of compassion into those who have distanced themselves from acknowledging the truths of systemic racism and inequality in our society today.

The RiosVerse and The Paper Crowns Podcast stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. This has been a very emotional couple of weeks that the podcast has been away and as those who believe in equality and justice march in the streets, it did not feel right for us to post anything that would compete with their voices. Instead we aim to do what we can to help elevate their voices and support them in their mission to bring awareness and justice to those who need it during these trying times. With this in mind, we felt it was imperative to really center on the Understanding of WHY Black Lives Matter. To do that we tackle how the roots of our nation are grown deep into the soils of Systemic Racism and how the sorrows of our past echo with a deafening clarity into our present. It was an emotional journey that we hope appeals to the better nature of those opposed or on the fence pertaining to the movement. Above all, we hope to educate and restore empathy and compassion back into the difficult conversations we are having as a people.
