TRM: Season 2: Episode 1 | Canadian BBQ Boys
In this episode you will learn: SHOCKING secrets about Dragon's Den, including the application process and taping. The disturbing truth about what's really inside your barbecue. Tips for starting a business with no prior experience in the industry (seriously, these guys knew nothing about barbecues). Overview: The Restless Millennial is back after a month-long hiatus. On this episode, I welcome two special guests - Matt Mccoy and Mike Sutton, the Co-Founders of Canadian BBQ Boys. The Canadian BBQ Boys are the hottest barbecue-cleaning service in Ontario, Canada.  Matt and Mike founded the company in Grade 12 after their parents experienced unsatisfactory barbecue-cleaning service from a competitor. After four years of growth, the Guelph University students made an appearance on a recent episode of CBC's Dragon's Den. With only two days to prepare for taping in April 2018, Mike and Matt decided to go for it. They understood their market and asked for $50,000 in exchange for 10 per cent of their business (a $500,000 evaluation). How did the Dragons respond? Listen to find out. And remember to follow The Restless Millennial on Instagram and Facebook and listen on your favourite podcast app!

TRM #22 | How to Pursue Your Passion and Keep Your Day Job
Thanks for joining me on The Restless Millennial Ben Simon! In 2013, 19-year-old Ben experienced a huge tragedy. His father was diagnosed with cancer and died later that year at the age of 49. Because his father didn't make it to his retirement, Ben developed a new lease on life. He wanted to make sure he loved his work, so that way he'd have no regrets if he suffered a similar fate. Both Ben's parents were elementary school teachers, and Ben was well on the way to becoming a teacher himself. But after his father's death he decided not to pursue a career in traditional education. Ben, a hardcore music fan and talented guitar player, started Ben Simon Guitar Lessons in 2016. Since then he's built his business to over 70 weekly clients. Early on, Ben taught guitar during the day and was prepared to work the night shift at a local grocery store. However, his business took off so fast that he never had to get a second job. I wanted to get him on The Restless Millennial to share his emotional story as well as to inspire youth to pursue their passions without quitting their day jobs. TRM #21 | How to Get a Job After College, Feat. Charles Havelona
Thanks for coming on The Restless Millennial today Charles Javelona! It was a pleasure to learn about what you're doing through Univjobs.ca to help young people find employment opportunities. 👔 Univjobs is a job sharing platform that gives college/university students and recent graduates employment opportunities that require little-to-no prior experience. 😱 If you are a recent graduate, you are probably familiar with the sentence "3-5 years experience required." That's not the case on Univjobs. Employers are not able to post a job posting if the position requires previous experience. ✔️ Charles believes in the power of youth and is a strong advocate for young people in the workplace. He said companies should hire more young people because they're motivated and willing to learn. Plus, they probably don't have the bad work habits that more experienced people might have. 🤔 This is a MUST WATCH episode if you're a recent graduate who's fed up with going through countless job postings on Indeed, Linkedin or Monster. Charles also gives us some great tips to help young people land their dream jobs post-graduation. 💯🎙 Guest: Charles Javelona Instagram: @charlesjavelona Facebook: @univjobs Instagram: @univjobs Website: www.univjobs.ca

Thanks for joining me on The Restless Millennial Raphael 💯 Raphael Wong is a fellow podcaster, and we had a great conversation about the benefits of podcasting for personal development 🎙 The Canvas Series is Raphael’s self-improvement podcast. He started it about a year ago and I was really surprised with his approach. Raphael doesn’t want to be a life coach. Instead, his goal is to improve himself and give people the necessary tools to live free and achieve their dreams through his guests’ stories. Our intentions are aligned there, and I’m glad to know there’s like-minded people out there. This is the episode for you if you are thinking about starting your own podcast. TRM #19 | A Chat With A Microsoft Intern
Thanks for joining me on The Restless Millennial @ptrochaniak. We had a great conversation about killing it at your internships, start-up culture and powerlifting 😄 Patrick landed an internship at Microsoft while he finished up his university degree. In the eight months he was there, Patrick made connections that helped open doors for him after his internship was done. ❗️ One of the biggest takeaways from this interview was an analogy Patrick used to describe his work ethic. As a competitive power-lifter, Patrick lives his life like he trains for lifting - always setting higher goals for himself. 💪 He lives his life in the extreme, and that's the reason why he's been successful, so young. Great to talk to you man! 💯 Stay tuned for TRM #19 on all your fav podcast apps! Instagram: @ptrochaniak Website: www.patricktrochaniak.com

TRM #17 | Live Bretter, Real Estate Advice for Millennials
Thanks for joining me on the show today Brett Wiederhold - Real Estate 🙌🏻 Brett is a 23-year-old real estate agent in Toronto and the GTA. He came on TRM to share some advice as to how millennials can begin investing in real estate and buy their first homes 🏡 Three takeaways from this interview: 👇 1️⃣ You have more money than you think. 2️⃣ Investing in real estate is better than the stock market because YOU have control of the 💰 you make. 3️⃣ Be patient. The market goes through ups and downs. Invest for the long-term. ☝️ Brett has been helping people reach their real-estate goals since last year. TRM #16 | Empowering Women to Join the Sports Conversation
Thank you to Roslyn McLarty and Ellen Hyslop for joining me on The Restless Millennial today to discuss sports, pursuing passions and how to survive in a fast-paced start-up atmosphere.

The GIST is a sports news website written by women, for women. The website includes articles, guides to each sport and a newsletter to empower women to join the sports conversation.

After spending four years of work in a corporate position in Toronto, Roslyn, Ellen and their other co-founder Jacie found that:

 👇
1️⃣Women are often left out of sports conversations simply because they didn't watch the game last night
2️⃣Their workplace relationships suffer because of that
3️⃣Most sports content is for a male audience
 👆

The three university friends then dropped their structured 9-5 jobs to pursue their dream. As sports fans, they were able to convey their sports knowledge in a way that is easy to understand for the female non-sports fan.

TRM #15 | How to Make Genuine Connections Online
What's up hustlers! Stefan here.

Today I had the pleasure to speak with Paul Deng, Founder of Passionfruit Inc.

Passionfruit is an up-coming social app that connects people with others who share the same passions. The most shocking feature of the app? There are NO profile pictures.

Paul says the one of the problems with most social apps like Tinder and Bumble is that they focus on quantity, not quality. People swipe right and left on hundreds of profiles solely based on physical appearance.

Passionfruit is changing the game by fostering quality relationships built on one thing that defines us: our passions. The app is set for full beta launch in late September, but you can test out the early beta on Google Play.

If you want to see more of Paul's tips for building quality relationships using Passionfruit visitpassionfruit.me ☺️👍

TRM #14 | The Uber Eats of Cannabis
Hey guys, Stefan here.

Just want to thank the Verda Innovations Inc. boys for coming on the podcast today to teach us about their company that I STRONGLY believe will have a huge impact on the recreational marijuana industry.

Evan Adcock and Max Fergusson co-founded Verda a year ago, shortly after the Canadian government announced a date (Oct.17) for legal sale and consumption of recreational marijuana. Verda is a service that connects persons of age with local marijuana dispensaries.

They are revolutionizing the way people interact with cannabis by providing it comfortably and conveniently to anyone anywhere. Retailers and suppliers can also put their products up for sale on the Verda platform, and Verda will send your order to your door within the same day.

It's the first of its kind, and I'm impressed with what these two 20-year-olds have accomplished in such little time.
