Ho’oponopono Forgiveness Meditation
Poetry by Mary Oliver, thoughts on a low energy day and a meditation practice based on forgiveness. Traditionally, the Ho’oponopono prayer was used to heal relationships between two or more people. Each person would say the mantra to the other, beginning with “Please forgive me.” However, this prayer has evolved over time to include the relationship we have with our own self. It can be a powerful tool for coming back into wholeness. If it feels as if one part of you hates, judges, or demeans another part, this can help to bridge those inner divides. Whatever your intention is, whether to work on yourself or relationship with another, the prayer assists in clearing the energy of past hurts and traumas. In Hawaiian culture it is believed that withholding forgiveness leads to disease and disharmony. In many ways this prayer loosely translates as “to make right again.” It involves a simple mantra: Please forgive me I’m so sorry I love you Thank you It doesn’t matter if you seek to forgive someone or you are seeking more self-love and healing, the mantra works for all situations. The words are a way of clearing energy for the person saying the prayer. No matter who was involved or what happened, this will remove the associated energies on your end. It’s a way of saying to the Universe, “I no longer allow these dark and heavy energies to live in my body or my lifestream.” This isn’t something you would use in order to get another person to apologize to you, but rather a way to heal yourself, to choose your happiness and lightness above all else. If another person chooses to receive your intentions for resolution, higher perspective and an increase in love rather than hate, then they will act in a way that’s right for them. You may never know that your prayer reached them, as they may choose not to say something, but instead will go forward with greater love and forgiveness in their hearts. It’s entirely up to them, and that is why it’s important you use this prayer for your own healing first and foremost. The best thing is for us to focus on our own soul care and growth and let the Universe/God take care of the rest. This will help the energy to stay the most open and free following. Once you use this prayer you may find it has an onion layer effect, peeling back the layers that need healing until you find a new and lighter energy fills your life. This may happen in an instant, and I find the best way to move through the healing and transformation quickly is to expect nothing but be open to anything. Kintsugi, and loving the broken parts of yourself
Whether we admit it or not, we tend to dream of having a harmonious life, fulfilling relationships, successful careers, healthy bodies and high performing, attractive children – but life comes along and sometimes in small blows, sometimes in large ones takes these dreams and shatters them. This is what we often describe as being broken, and it’s not something we generally seen as positive, but what if we changed the way we looked brokenness and could find the beauty in our flaws? This is a recording of a talk I gave for a group of yoga teacher trainers on Kintsugi where I threw in some poetry, Ernest Hemingway, Brene Brown, Pema Chödrön and then we broke stuff and put it back together The post Kintsugi, and loving the broken parts of yourself appeared first on The Recovery Coach.

Yoga Nidra Meditation
Birthright Despite illness of body or mind, in spite of blinding despair or habitual belief, who you are is whole. Let nothing keep you separate from the truth. The soul, illumined from within, longs to be known for what it is. Undying, untouched by fire or the storms of life, there is a place inside where stillness and abiding peace reside. You can ride the breath to go there. Despite doubt or hopeless turns of mind, you are not broken. Spirit surrounds, embraces, fills you from the inside out. Release everything that isn’t your true nature. What’s left, the fullness, light and shadow, claim all that as your birthright.” ― Danna Faulds This meditation is done lying down with your eyes closed and works on healing your subconscious. You can listen to this to go to sleep or as a refocusing and healing meditation. Take some time to do some self care that heals and nourishes from the inside out. 15 Minute Meditation For Stress
Awakening Now Why wait for your awakening? Do you value your reasons for staying small more than the light shining through the open door? Forgive yourself, Forgive yourself. Now is the only time you have to be whole. Now. Now is the sole moment that exists to live in the light of your true nature. Perfection is not a prerequisite for anything but pain. Perfection is not a prerequisite for anything but pain. Please, oh please, don’t continue to believe in your stories of deficiency and failure. This is the day of your awakening. – Danna Faulds Take 15 minutes to recenter and destress.     The post 15 Minute Meditation For Stress appeared first on The Recovery Coach.

Conversation with Sofia Husnain of Healthy, Wealthy & Wise
Here’s my conversation with Sofia the founder of Healthy, Wealthy & Wise and a force of nature for health, wellness and empowering women. Sofia Husnain was born in Pakistan and moved to the United States in 2001. She has a passion for service, and so choose nursing as her first career. She realized there were barriers that came with being an employee. Her pursuit of service while also achieving complete time and financial freedom led her into the entrepreneurial world. After silently suffering from her own health crisis, God led her to a company called Yoli where she experienced a complete health, emotional and financial transformation. She has now been a part of the Yoli family for 4 years and has made it a mission to provide free education to the community on health and provide them with the correct tools to get started. She has also started a community movement through her Healthy Wealthy and Wise platform where women get educated on health, wealth, legal and leadership topics and also become empowered and inspired to step into their greatness, discover their soul’s purpose and take on more leadership roles. Sofia lives in Aurora with her mom, husband and daughter. The post Conversation with Sofia Husnain of Healthy, Wealthy & Wise appeared first on The Recovery Coach.

Conversation With Patti
With 28years of sobriety between us Patti and I talk about our lives with and without alcohol, getting sober with young children, within marriages and navigating a demanding career. We talk about consequences and circumstances that led us to sobriety and the lives that we led since. We talk about shame, friendship, poetry, and the adventures we’ve had – and remember! – in sobriety. Below are her words describing part of her journey. Sudden Death Sudden death is a ruthless game. Church-singing-smiling one day, brain-tumor-dead the next. Of course Pat didn’t look quite herself in the coffin. They never do. But the snapshot beside her in that same elegant gown, twirling, arms outstretched, a veritable Ginger Rogers at her daughter’s wedding is proof that this stoic face is really her. The line of mourners is long – an hour or more. Emotionally and physically parched, I’ll join a few that gathered after to remember her and toast to her life. Once, Twice, Three times… I lost count. In an instant my universe imploded. How does an eggshell survive when the carton is crushed? This thought would not enter my foggy brain until the next day upon viewing the wreckage and reading the accident report. The two young gentlemen I so elegantly struck Were barely 17. And beautiful. And unharmed. Thank you (god?) I imagine Pat must have been checking out the church for her funeral the next morning. Making sure the flowers were arranged just so. and when I drove by she just reached out to the street to nudge me into the other lane… while she kept the cargo safe. Just enough to give me a big fucking message. I looked death in the eye twice yesterday. I blinked. Chardonnay and Killians mixed with Chivas and Jose Cuervo looks distinctly like piss when it swirls down the drain and doesn’t smell much better. Hi. My name is Patti. I am an alcoholic.   ruthless no, you cannot go today not while you still gaze upon the goddess and sob visions of dew dancing sorrowful through goldenrod gardens though only ghosts of tears grace your face, languid language tears drip freely from your pen so you cannot go, not while fable rainbows bleed from your brush in happy lion orange and zebra purple praise you cannot go today, for the world is not ready to be ruthless   Steps It’s a slower mode of going, renders you incapable of towing unnecessary cargo. Plan to plot your path with purpose, pace your journey’s stride as if a tortoise, your thoughts slow with the tempo. Drum feet slap to breathing’s rhythm, rustled trees decide on singing with ‘em, a symphony of wind rhymes. From the crack of dawn to sundown once I walked up Half Dome’s peak and ran down, a triumph of a past prime. Twelve short rises run this stairflight, Start at dawn, you know you’ll need the daylight. Feet one by one climb lifetimes. The post Conversation With Patti appeared first on The Recovery Coach.

What Are You Focused On?
Our attention is a valuable thing in an overstimulating world. When we allow our attention and our focus to be drawn randomly from one external stimulus to another we lose the small wise voice of our own inner intelligence. Stop for a breath. Pause. Decide what is worth your attention. The post What Are You Focused On? appeared first on The Recovery Coach.
