She is a recent graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Human-Centered Computing focusing on digital accessibility, and is a published accessibility researcher. She is a member of the United Spinal Tech Access Group and currently works for Elsevier as a digital accessibility intern. Outside of school, Madison is a dancer focusing mostly on hip-hop and lyrical dance, as well as jazz and modern. She takes classes with the Rollettes, a wheelchair dance team based in Los Angeles, Madison also received a grant from the Kelly Brush Foundation in summer 2021 to purchase a custom racing handcycle to compete in national races. Get To Know Our GuestMichaela Devins is a mental health counselor who has been a C4-C5 quadriplegic for eleven years; in that time, she has lived in Upstate New York, Philadelphia, and now Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband Kyle and service dog Chicory.  She attended graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and completed her Masters there in professional mental health counseling in 2019.  Since then, she has worked in outpatient mental health in Center City Philadelphia and now in the Boston area. Get to know our Guest Ian Mackay was born and raised in San Diego, California. In 2001 he movedto Goleta, California and attended Santa Barbara City College. He had manyinterests in his early college years, beginning as a business major, and endingup getting an Associates degree in communication before delving into signlanguage for a year. Soon after, he took a field botany course and realizedthat his true interest was in the field of biology. He ended up moving to SantaCruz, California and enrolled at Cabrillo College. He took almost nothing butscience courses for the next few years and then transferred to UCSC.Ian was fortunate to live near campus where he could bike to school and usea vehicle sparingly. Cycling was one of his preferred hobbies as well as tabletennis, craft beer, nature photography, and bluegrass music. There was awonderful bike path that went up the large hill to campus and one of hisgreatest joys was riding down that path daily after school.
