Kickstarter and New Product Development Episode009
After a few months, I've recorded a new podcast. Lately I've been playing around with a new business idea in the solar industry and have done a TON of research to get educated on the science and vocabulary of the solar market. I discuss my Kickstarter Project ambition as well as YouTube, manufacturing domestic vs China, prototypes, and other issues I've run into as I've developed this idea into an actual "seedling" of an idea/venture. No rubber meeting the road yet, but this is where I am and maybe it'll help you out, too! VIDEO LINK HERE (coming soon)

College Degree for Entrepreneurs? You definitely…- EPISODE 007
Is a college degree really necessary in today's business world? Everyone has an opinion, and here is mine. Definitely YES... and maybe NO. Is that clear enough for you? Entrepreneurial minded folks can have a hard time in a formal setting like college, so what should you do? In this podcast I talk about the benefits and risks that go with college education and even graduate school. I talk about the value in manual trades that are often looked down on in our society, yet these skills are CRUCIAL to our world and SOMEBODY has to do them... and they can make a successful (and potentially very lucrative) career by using these "less marketable/trendy" skills. I also talk about the two BIGGEST LIES our society tells us. I get a little scatter-brained toward the end but... hey, I'm still new at this. VIDEO LINK HERE

Real Estate (part 2): Flipping, Rentals, Land Development – Episode 006
This is part 2 of what started in Episode 005. Many entrepreneurs have the desire to either invest their money or make their money in real estate. In this episode I finish up the "flipping" topic and move on to income housing and land development. Developing real estate could easily be an entire episode, and I may tackle it in the future, but this should give you a good vocabulary on the entitlement process and the basics of zoning, platting, and adding value to land or real property. Real Estate for Entrepreneurs: Flipping, Income Property, and Development (Part 1) Episode005
So many people want to get rich quick, or maybe just get rich, "doing" real estate. Well, this episode will tell you things you MUST know before even trying to "do" what you saw on TV or read about in those books. Real estate is my favorite subject. Someone can make a great living by purchasing, adding value, and selling a property (aka "flipping"). Others may want to hold on to it, rent it out, and make a long term investment out of it while maybe enjoying a little cash flow in the meantime. Then there are the typically larger and more complicated development and construction deals. I'm gonna discuss them all in the next few episodes. There's so much to cover in real estate that I'm having to make multiple episodes out of it. Get ready to increase your vocabulary, learn how short sales work, understand foreclosures, and see how flips work. I'll also get into the entitlement process of land and development. Remember to subscribe and review on iTunes or one of the podcast links on the right. PLEASE leave me comments and questions so I can do better! VIDEO LINK HERE

Sourcing, Supply Chain, China and More!: Episode003
Before you can sell anything, you must BUY it first! Product sourcing, supply chain, procurement, purchasing, call it what you want. This is a very important aspect of starting a new business. Entrepreneurs MUST understand how logistics work in our global society and most importantly how to take advantage of the resources out there. This podcast will help you spend capital wisely, maximize your profit margins and minimize your risk. I also talk about ways to find the best suppliers from China and other overseas companies. Do You Have What It Takes?: Episode001
prac·ti·cal ˈpraktək(ə)l/   Meaning: of or concerned with the actual doing or use of something rather than with theory and ideas.  Are you an entrepreneur? Are you a practical one? Practitioners are the ones out there doing the work. Theories are great and I always like a new idea, but at some point you have to get your hands dirty and make tough decisions. Is now the time to quit my day job? Is my idea good for Amazon? Can I find an investor to help? This podcast is an introduction to what I'm gonna be doing each week. I address some of the basic questions and concerns of the aspiring entrepreneur. Be sure to leave questions, comments and suggestions and I'll try to address them in future podcasts! Please add me to your RSS feed by clicking the link, download podcasts directly from this website, or you can even view the vlog on our YouTube Channel! I'm new at this so please be patient if you find a dead link or hiccup with the website. VIDEO LINK HERE Thanks! Brent
