Episode 3 - Fatima Jakoet - "Make Your Dreams Come True"
Fatima Jakoet is currently a Senior First Officer at South African Airways. She joined SAA in June 2005 where she started her career at SAA on the Boeing 747-400 and a year later the Airbus 340 series operating the international routes. She currently operates the Airbus 320 and is based in Cape Town. Fatima's flying career started as a cadet pilot at the BAE Flight training college in Adelaide, Australia where she graduated with her frozen Airline Transport Pilot License. She joined the South African regional carrier Airlink in November 2002 where she operated the Jetstream 41. She graduated with her MBA the University of Stellenbosch Business School in 2009 and achieved a distinction for her thesis entitled: A safely culture survey amongst Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. In 2010, Fatima established a foundation to create aviation awareness and develop skills amongst learners from grade 1-12. To date the Sakhikamva (xhosa: building a future) Foundation has interacted with more than 70 000 learners and has run more than 12 programs and projects on a rotational basis. She developed and launched the world's first Science Technology Robotics Engineering Aerospace and Mathematics (STREAM) laboratory in June 2015 and a second one at Lanseria International Airport. The STREAM laboratory is an interactive space for the development of essential skills for youth in the aerospace sector. Fatima has received the Harvard African Scholarship in 2016 and is a graduate of Harvard Business School where she completed the Program for Leadership Developement. Fatima serves on as non executive director at the Polyoak Packaging Group and Cape Aerospace Technologies. She is also a director at the Teachers Plus Foundation and trustee on the Polyoak Family Trust as well as the Get Ahead Foundation.

Episode 2 - Dave Romero - "The Ups & Downs of Entrepreneurship"
We caught up with one of my mentors... Dave Romero Dave qualified as a Professional Accountant (SA) in 1987. He Joined a Corporate Finance Company after qualifying where he got the first taste of Venture Capital. Dave became the Financial Director and later, the Managing Director of Equivest, a Venture Capital Group. During 1991, Dave established his own Venture Capital Company which was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange on the 25th of November 1997. REF Finance and Investment Corporation Ltd focussed on the ICT industry. Highlights of this company include being ranked 21st in a Business Times Top 100 Companies survey during 1998, ranked the 40th fastest growing company in South Africa, with investors receiving a 1,800% return over a five year period. During 2005, Dave bought into Isibane Holdings (Pty) Ltd, formed a Private Equity company called Isibane Capital Ltd and was elected as the Joint CEO. 2009 saw the merger of the company with Pulse Private Equity. In 2012 Dave founded the Caban Group of Companies to help entrepreneurs succeed by providing a comprehensive service offering to small businesses as risk in return for equity. The success of this model lead to the founding of Caban Capital, the Group Holding company, in the UK through which the business model is being applied internationally. On the 14th of September 2018, Dave, in partnership with Seedslife, listed an Impact African Venture Capital Fund on the Gibraltar Stock Exchange called Seedslife Caban Impact Fund. This fund will assist entrepreneurs across Africa. Dave’s passion for developing entrepreneurs often takes him out of the boardroom and into the local communities where he can be found offering advice as well as creating innovative solutions to the funding requirements of public benefit organisations. He has over the course of his career helped hundreds of companies to get started. Dave also serves on various boards including Ruben Richards Foundation, The Atlantis Dream Team.

Episode 1 - Sufyaan Altalib - Why "The Power of Mentorship"?
Sufyaan was fortunate to matriculate from the prestigious South African College High School (SACS), receiving distinctions in all examinable subjects and achieved 90% for Maths. Sufyaan furthered his studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT) where he completed a Bcom in Accounting with a distinction in Financial Reporting. He has also made the Dean’s Merit List (Average of 70%) and is a member of Golden Key Honours Society (Membership is by invitation only and extended to the top 15% students, as identified by their universities across all degree programmes). He was also awarded the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship and is An Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellow (The Foundation seeks out young people who have the potential to change the world with their energy, curiosity and new ways of seeing and understanding the problems we face, and how to solve them. They then nurture this potential using their ecosystem of partners, programmes and resources.) In addition, over the last few years he has attended various personal development courses ranging from NLP and Holistic Health to Mind Power. He is passionate about education, mentorship and entrepreneurship. In addition to being the Host of The Power of Mentorship Podcast he is the founder of the tuition centre Haytham Academy, a professional speaker and an author currently writing two books. A topic I am extremely passionate about is mentorship. Hence with the support of two mentors Khalil Aleker and Dave Romero I will be hosting The Power of Mentorship Podcast which is powered by Caban Investments Limited. The Power of Mentorship Podcast’s vision is to provide every person on the planet with mentorship, from the worlds most accomplished people, across all fields, through the podcast medium. I truly believe that mentorship is a transformative power in creating a successful and meaningful life.
