#026... How to Cultivate the Healing Power of Gratitude...
#26 How to Cultivate the Healing Power of Gratitude Gratitude is an immensely powerful force that we can use to expand our happiness, create loving relationships, and even improve our health. Many scientific studies, including research by renowned psychologists Robert Emmons and Michael McCullough, have found that people who consciously focus on gratitude experience greater emotional well-being and physical health than those who don’t. In comparison with control groups, those who cultivated a grateful outlook: Felt better about their lives as a whole Experienced greater levels of joy and happiness Felt optimistic about the future Got sick less often Exercised more regularly Had more energy, enthusiasm, determination, and focus Made greater progress toward achieving important personal goals Slept better and awoke feeling refreshed Felt stronger during trying times Enjoyed closer family ties Were more likely to help others and offer emotional support Experienced fewer symptoms of stress If you want more happiness, joy, and energy, gratitude is clearly a crucial quality to cultivate. It is a fullness of heart that moves us from limitation and fear to expansion and love. When we’re appreciating something, our ego moves out of the way and we connect with our soul. Gratitude brings our attention into the present, which is the only place where miracles can unfold. The deeper our appreciation, the more we see with the eyes of the soul and the more our life flows in harmony with the creative power of the universe. Here are a few powerful gratitude practices for you to try: Keep a Gratitude Journal Since ancient times,

#025.... 9 Ways Positive Thinking Leads to Success... Change your life by changing your thoughts..
9 Ways Positive Thinking Leads to Success Author Jon Gordon shows you how being an optimist is a boon to your business. Most small business owners see the glass as half full. On the roller coaster of starting and running a company, it is really the only way to survive and thrive. Jon Gordon, author of The Energy Bus, believes that positive energy can actually be the difference between long-term success and failure in any business. In my full interview with Jon, he discusses how thinking positively can lead to success. Here are some takeaways. 1. You are the driver of your bus. You have the ability to choose the ride you want. As Gordon says, “You choose your energy and it will determine the ride, your attitude, how people respond." 2. Stop blaming others. In the long run, it’s not their fault. Being accountable for your own business is the reason you started a company, right? 3. Fuel your ride with positive energy. Gordon believes that “whether we feed ourselves each day with negative fuel or positive fuel, our attitude, our mindset, our belief, our optimism has a big impact on our day.” With positive energy fuel, you will be able to accomplish things that others thought impossible. 4. Lead with optimism. Gordon studied great teams, leaders and organizations. He shows that optimism is one of the defining factors of their success. “Optimistic salespeople outperform pessimistic salespeople," Gordon says. "Optimistic leaders are able to get their people in the right direction and … create success. I work for a lot of NFL teams, for instance, and I’ve seen this principle play out.” 5. No energy vampires allowed. Gordon quotes Gandhi: “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.” He points out that stress, business and fear are the main enemies of positive energy. 6. Stop complaining without

Being happy and having the ability to laugh certainly makes you feel better! 2) Positive thinkers have less stress in their lives and have much more control over how they react to events. 6 Ways to Become More Positive Today Perspective is destiny. Here's how to improve yours. WATCH Your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habit. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.” ― Lao Tzu Each of us has a set of messages that play over and over in our minds. This internal dialogue, or personal commentary, influences our words, actions, habits, relationships and ultimately, in the words of Lao Tzu, the destiny of our lives. Too often the pattern of self-talk we’ve developed is negative. This internal seed of negativity causes a dark ripple that extends to all corners of our daily lives. We walk around with a dark cloud hovering close-by, and view all glasses as half-empty. Our conversations always revert to all that is wrong with the world, and we’re constantly expecting the worst. This negative approach to life can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Concepts such as the law of attraction, “you reap what you sow,” and “birds of a feather flock together,” speak to the magnetic power of our thoughts. Many studies confirm the correlation between

7 Practical Tips to Achieve a Positive Mindset The “power of positive thinking”2 is a popular concept, and sometimes it can feel a little cliché. But the physical and mental benefits of positive thinking have been demonstrated by multiple scientific studies. Positive thinking can give you more confidence, improve your mood, and even reduce the likelihood of developing conditions such as hypertension, depression and otherstress-related disorders. All this sounds great, but what does the “power of positive thinking” really mean? You can define positive thinking as positive imagery, positive self-talk or general optimism, but these are all still general, ambiguous concepts. If you want to be effective in thinking and being more positive, you’ll need concrete examples to help you through the process. Here are seven: 1. Start the day with positive affirmation. How you start the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. Have you ever woken up late, panicked, and then felt like nothing good happened the rest of the day? This is likely because you started out the day with a negative emotion and a pessimistic view that carried into every other event you experienced. Instead of letting this dominate you, start your day with positive affirmations. Talk to yourself in the mirror, even if you feel silly, with statements like, “Today will be a good day” or “I’m going to be awesome today.” You’ll be amazed how much your day improves. 2.

#021..15 Ways to Help a Fellow Human Being Today..Too often the trend in our society is for people to be separated from either other, to be cut off from the great mass of humanity, and in doing so to be dehumanized a little bit more with each step.
So strike back against the selfishness and greed of our modern world, and help out a fellow human being today. Not next month, but today. Helping a fellow human being, while it can be inconvenient, has a few humble advantages: It makes you feel better about yourself; It connects you with another person, at least for a moment, if not for life; It improves the life of another, at least a little; It makes the world a better place, one little step at a time; And if that kindness is passed on, it can multiply, and multipy. So take just a few minutes today, and do a kindness for another person. It can be something small, or the start of something big. Ask them to pay it forward. Put a smile on someone’s face. Don’t know where to start? Here’s an extremely incomplete list, just to get you thinking — I’m sure you can come up with thousands more if you think about it. Smile and be friendly. Sometimes a simple little thing like this can put a smile and warm feeling in someone else’s heart, and make their day a little better. They might then do the same for others. Call a charity to volunteer. You don’t have to go to a soup kitchen today. Just look up the number, make the call, and make an appointment to volunteer sometime in the next month. It can be whatever charity you like. Volunteering is one of the most amazing things you can do. Donate something you don’t use. Or a whole box of somethings. Drop them off at a charity — others can put your clutter to good use. Make a donation. There are lots of ways to donate to charities online, or in your local community. Instead of buying yourself a new gadget or outfit, spend that money in a more positive way. Redirect gifts. Instead of having people give you birthday or Christmas gifts, ask them to donate gifts or money to a certain charity. Stop to help. The next time you see someone pulled over with a flat tire, or somehow in need of help, stop and ask how you can help. Sometimes all they need is a push, or the use of your cell phone. Teach. Take the time to teach someone a skill you know. This could be teaching your grandma to use email, teaching your child to ride a bike, teaching your co-worker a valuabl

Tips for a Perfect Day of Weight Loss From our diet files: Here’s a perfect day of weight loss to help boost your metabolism, burn calories, and help eliminate… From our diet files: Here’s a perfect day of weight loss to help boost your metabolism, burn calories, and help eliminate belly fat. These come from the experts at Rodale Publishing: At 7:00 a.m., have two scrambled eggs and a slice of Canadian bacon. A study at Purdue University found that people who ate a high protein breakfast felt full longer during the day, and were less likely to overeat. Then, at 7:45, hit the gym and lower your weights slowly. A study at Wayne State University found that taking a full three seconds to lower the weights can boost your metabolism for up to three days. At 9 a.m., drink low-fat milk or have a low-fat yogurt for a snack. Numerous studies show that a diet with plenty of calcium-rich dairy products can boost weight loss. Then, at 11 a.m. – and again at 2 p.m. – take a brisk 10-minute walk. A study by the Mayo Clinic found that lean people walk 3-and-a-half miles more per day than obese people do. At lunch, eat a spinach salad, and grilled halibut with almonds slices. They all contain magnesium, a mineral that boosts metabolism. At 5 p.m., have a spicy 250 calorie mini-meal, like a whole wheat tortilla with jalapeno jack cheese or spicy hummus. Several studies found that spicy foods help burn fat and calories. Then, at 7 p.m., take a short walk before dinner to keep your metabolism running high – and to help you eat less that night. About an hour before bed, grab a good book or magazine, and kick back and relax while listening to music. Studies show that stress raises your levels of the hormone cortisol, which increases the accumulation of belly fat, and raises your risk of heart attack and stroke. Finally, about 10:30 pm, draw the shades so the

The Power of Positive Thinking Positive thinking is a mental and emotional attitude that focuses on the bright side of life and expects positive results. A positive person anticipates happiness, health and success, and believes he or she can overcome any obstacle and difficulty. Positive thinking is not accepted by everyone. Some, consider it as nonsense, and scoff at people who follow it, but there is a growing number of people, who accept positive thinking as a fact, and believe in its effectiveness. It seems that this subject is gaining popularity, as evidenced by the many books, lectures and courses about it. To use it in your life, you need more than just to be aware of its existence. You need to adopt the attitude of positive thinking in everything you do. Positive Thinking Is a Way of Life With a positive attitude we experience pleasant and happy feelings. This brings brightness to the eyes, more energy, and happiness. Our whole being broadcasts good will, happiness and success. Even our health is affected in a beneficial way. We walk tall, our voice is more powerful, and our body language shows the way we feel. Positive and negative thinking are contagious. We affect, and are affected by the people we meet, in one way or another. This happens instinctively and on a subconscious level, through words, thoughts and feelings, and through body language. Is it any wonder that we want to be around positive people, and prefer to avoid negative ones? People are more disposed to help us, if we are positive, and they dislike and avoid anyone broadcasting negativity. Negative thoughts, words and attitude, create negative and unhappy feelings, moods and behavior. When the mind is negative, poisons are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment. Positive Thinking Instructions and Advice In order to turn the mind toward the positive, some inner work is required, since attitude and thoughts do not change overnight. Read about this subject, think about its b

Self Development Tips As long as you are still alive, you are capable of changing and growing. You can do anything you want to do, be anything you want to be. Listen to some positive thoughts on how to continue your self development and then apply them in your own life. Accept personal responsibility for your own growth; no one can do it for you. What you do today will determine your readiness for tomorrow. Take time every day to do something for yourself. Take classes to stay current in your field of expertise. The world is changing rapidly and you must learn to manage change to avoid obsolescence. The way Will Rogers put this was that "Even if you are on the right track, if you just sit there you will get run over." Never look back to the past-you only can control your actions in this instant, so what should you be doing right now? Learn from "other people's experience" rather then having to try everything for yourself. It shortens the time needed to learn. Dealing with a problem helps you learn patience and strengthens your management skills; it is good mental exercise. Analyze, in a non-judgmental way, mistakes in which you were involved. It will help you to prevent these in the future. Reward yourself when you catch yourself working on the most important priorities. Never say something can't or won't be done. Keep looking for ways to do it.

These "ten tips on using the positive power of the spoken word" are to remind ourselves our words matter. Everything we say, or think, has the potential to either heal or harm. Our words can destruct or construct, be positive or negative. 9 However, whatever choice we make, to harm or heal, it is never the words themselves directly causing the outcome. Words, simply 'are'. It is how we use, and what we bring or associate with them, creating the end result. Because the words we speak either aloud, or in the privacy of our minds, embody our intentions, they are a carrier of ourselves, our energy. And as you know we can have good, bad or indifferent word moments or even days. Most of us will have experienced the negative power of the spoken word. It can color our personal lives and ripple far beyond us to affect everything and everybody. That is why "Ten Tips on the Using the Positive Power of the Spoken Word" is vital. #014... 20 little things you can do to HELP and EMPOWER others...Service to others will change your life, it just feels good !!
empowering other people puts out the positive vibes into the atmosphere that will be returned to you, not in any sort of karmic sense necessarily, but in terms of improving your own sense of self-awareness and confidence. This can be achieved in a number of little ways that can range from simply boosting someone else’s mood to helping them realize new aspects of their personalities. We are all in this life together, and helping others achieve their goals can get our own on track. The following are 20 little things you can do to empower other people and get started down this path. 1. Give out compliments that you mean. Most people can see straight through a phony compliment, but if you think your friend looks especially nice today with that new hairstyle, tell her so. Just be open and direct in your interactions. 2. Speak and act with honesty. If you always speak with integrity and believe in your own words and actions, others will also pick up on this and mimic it, fostering an atmosphere of trust. 3. Listen to others. Always listen to what other people say. I used to zone out when others were speaking but now make a point of looking into their eyes and listening to their words, which has made a world of difference in personal interactions. 4. Help illustrate your points with visual aids. When leading a meeting or presentation, realize that many other people are visual learners. My girlfriend can’t understand a concept without a diagram to back it up. 5. Teach a class. If you have a skill or knowledge to share, why not teach your own class that helps spread it to others? 6. Get involved in community art projects. Artistic projects in the community are a great way to help get everyone involved in making the city a more beautiful place to live, instilling a sense of pride in all residents. 7. Mentor a child or student. Getting involved in one child’s life, especially if they are at-risk, helps you both make connections throughout your lifetime. 8. Volunteer with local organizations. These can be community discussion groups or of a more volunteer-oriented nature. 9. Lead a group on a travel expedition.

#013... 5 important tips to de-clutter your home and living a simpler, more focused, and happier life.
5 Strategies To Declutter Your Home For A Happier Life A house is a representation of a person’s mind, and a cluttered house represents a cluttered mind that cannot focus properly. You look at scattered cardboard boxes, clothes which you have not worn in a year, and feel intimidated at the prospect of trying to clean all of this up. But as great men like Warren Buffet and Henry David Thoreau can tell you, simplicity is one of the great virtues. By not wasting so much and by living a simple life where you only have what you need, you can gain focus and will, especially without that useless clutter annoying your mind. Here are 5 important tips to declutter your home and living a simpler, more focused, and happier life. 1. Do A Little Bit at A Time Cleaning up a cluttered home is similar to starting a new exercise routine. If you try to do everything at once, the only thing that will happen is that you feel overwhelmed, give up, and end up accomplishing nothing. Start small. Focus on one area of the house every day and try to keep clutter away from that one place. Devote a few minutes every day or at least once a week to keep that place clean. Then expand that area a bit at a time, picking up stuff which you have not used. If you can spend 30 minutes every day, if not every week removing stuff and trying to store it, that can go a long way towards removing immediate clutter and turning organization into a routine. 2. Come Up with An Organizational System You need to have a planned system before you can properly organize. What that system looks like can vary according to your tastes and what you believe you need. One recommended method is the four box method. This method sees you look at every single object you have cluttered away and decide whether to keep the item, sell or donate it, trash it, or store it. But the method you use matters less than the fact that you have a method. Make a list which determines what items are valuable and what items you are hoarding for a “rainy day” that will actually never come.

#011 Positive Life Hacks Edition...3 Instant Energy Boosters, 4 Secrets To Make Your Relationship Last, Make Your Workout More Effective...
Need more energy? You’re not alone. Because as the days get shorter, we’re exposed to less sunlight – which our bodies need to suppress melatonin, the hormone that makes us feel sleepy. So, here are some expert tips, to give you an instant energy boost: Include some protein in your breakfast. Because breakfast sets the stage for the way our blood sugar behaves the rest of the day. Meaning, if you skip breakfast, you won’t be providing any new energy for your brain and muscles. And if you only eat something with refined carbs - like a bagel - you’ll experience a brief sugar spike, followed by an energy crash. So, have a meal that includes at least 10 grams of protein – which is what you’ll get from two hard-boiled eggs. That’ll digest slowly enough to provide steady energy right through your lunch break. Replace your morning coffee with a cup of green tea. A recent study shows that drinking a cup of green tea gives you a longer-lasting energy boost than a cup of coffee. Nutritionists say it’s because green tea contains compounds – called flavanoids - that promote focus and calmness. Take a chat break. It turns out, nothing drains our energy more than routine. That’s because the body needs occasional breaks from our routines to generate new heart and brain cells, and reinforce our memories. That’s why it’s important to get plenty of sleep each day. But if you can’t take naps at work, a new NASA study shows that a 7-minute “chat break” with a coworker may be the next best thing. That’s just long enough to break up your routine, and refocus your energy. 4 Secrets To Make Your Relationship Last If you take a “glass half full” look at relationship statistics, 60 percent of people who get married stay that way. Here are 4 ways to help make sure you’re part of that 60 percent: Use terms of endearment. A study in the

Focus on today. “Don’t take tomorrow to bed with you.” Focusing on this day today and on tomorrow when it arrives can save you a lot of stress and improve your focus and performance. Of course, you may need to plan for tomorrow. But thinking about it compulsively will just shatter your focus and ensure that you won’t be able to concentrate on what’s in front of you today. You can – over time – build a habit of spending more time in the present and less time in imagined future scenarios or old memories. You may do this through things like focusing on your breathing or on your inner body. You can read about in 8 Ways to Return to the Present Moment. Don’t walk around with the world on your shoulders. “Drop the idea that you are Atlas carrying the world on your shoulders. The world would go on even without you. Don’t take yourself so seriously.” I won’t spend much time on this point because I mentioned it just a few days ago and have written about many times before. It’s important though and can really change how you see the world and your life. It makes most things lighter. #009 16 proven ways that can make you more productive, happy and successful in life.
It doesn’t matter your age, how much money you have in your bank account, your marital status or what you do for a living, we all want to be more successful in our lives. Of course, defining success is different for each us, but here are 16 proven ways that can make you more productive, happy and successful in life. 1. Be committed. No matter what goals you have set for yourself in life, you have to be committed. It’s through commitment that you’ll continue to make the improvements needed to better yourself. Whether it’s taking a chance on launching a startup, getting a gym membership to improve your physical well being, or taking a cooking class because you want to become a chef, commitment is what drives us all to become more successful. 2. People care about you, not your success. Let’s be honest. People don’t care about the expensive clothes you wear, how big is the house you own or the car your drive. That’s not to say that they don’t respect your achievements or possessions. Instead, they care you as an individual and they’ll support you no matter what -- because they love you. Believe it! Related: Embrace True Transparency, and You'll Experience More Success 3. Be grateful everyday. According to researchers Martin Seligman, Robert Emmons, and Michael McCullough, being grateful can result in feeling better about your life, more enthusiastism and more willingness to help others.
