Ep36 – COVID-19 Business Interruption Insurance Update
Many businesses have been impacted by COVID-19 and all should have business insurance, but the big question this last few months has been do they have business interruption cover in that policy and can a claim be made to cover the losses that have been sustained? A huge test case was decided at the back end of 2020, but that decision was appealed by the insurers involved and this month the Court made a decision on that appeal. This episode sees solicitor, Jonathan Field review that decision, the points that were considered and the subsequent implications. For more information and details of the full range of services on offer, you can visit the Johnson & Boon Solicitors website. Ep28 – Relief from Sanctions
Sometimes even the best laid plans can go wrong. Mistakes happen, occasionally things are misunderstood or you forget to put important dates in your diary. Whatever it might be, when it comes to legal cases, it can be the difference between your case being dismissed on a technicality or not. In this weeks episode Mark Johnson goes through some of the occasions when such problems might arise and more importantly how you can fix them. During the episode we mention the importance of understanding service of document timescales as determined by the rule and not when it physically might be received. Here is the section that specifically deals with this issue – Service of Documents  For more information and details of the full range of services on offer, you can visit the Johnson & Boon Solicitors website. Ep25 – Getting a Security for Costs
There is a fundamental principle that UK Citizens can enforce their rights through the court process. Unfortunately some start cases out of malicious intent, others with no real prospects of success and others knowing full well that were they to lose they would be unable to pay the other sides costs. In this episode Robert Boon discusses what defendants can do to protect their position if they believe one of these applies. How to ensure they have as good a chance as possible to recover their costs if they have been success in defending their rights.
