Episode 3: Six Quarantine Hacks For Photographers
Are you feeling scared about what’s happening during quarantine? Are you nervous about the future of your photography business? Are you conflicted about what you should be working on?In this episode of The #PHOTOBESTIES Podcast, I am going to be discussing six quarantine hacks for photographers, which basically means six things that you could be doing RIGHT NOW in your business. I wanted to have an honest discussion about what’s happening in the world and what the future looks like (to warn you, it’s REAL HONEST and not what everyone is telling you right now).Work on the backend stuff. From your why, to branding, to upleveling your customer experience or updating your skills - this is a great time to catch up on the things that you haven’t made a priority but might make all the difference in booking clients in the future.Apply for grants or assistance if needed. I don’t have too much information about this, but there are many online resources out there to help guide you through this time.Relax. Let’s take a minute and enjoy the positives of being with our kids more and not having to wake up and hustle the day away. None of this meant to be insensitive, but we have to make lemonade out of lemons, and this can very well be a time for rest + family connection.Book sessions or create promos. I’ve been hearing of some neat things happening! There is a large debate about the Front Porch sessions, but depending on your state and if you can do it safely, more power to you. I’ve also been hearing about photographers collaborating, and offering unique promos like “Buy One, Get One For a First Responder.” This is a time where you can be super creative and serve the community!Sell something of value. You all have knowledge about something (photo biz or not) that would help someone else. If you know more than 10% about something than someone else does, you have something to teach them. From developing presets, offering album design, editing iPhone photos to selling lessons on how to curl your hair - think about how you serve someone with your expertise and make money in the process while diversifying your revenue. Want to know how to launch and make money off of something like this? Watch the Recession Proof Masterclass Here.Do what you need to do to survive. I might be burnt at the stake for saying this right now, and y’all can take what you want for it. Be safe out there and do your due diligence. But you have a constitutional right to protect your property. Your business is your property. If you’re struggling, do whatever you need to do to take your security back (obviously nothing criminal). But truly, we are in a unique time and we live in a freedom oriented country, not a communist one. Don’t forget that.To conclude, do what feels right for you right now. It’s not going to be the same for everyone! But if you’re looking for a proven strategy to market + launch something of value in your business right now, go watch my free recession proofing masterclass.EPISODE LINKSWant to make money during quarantine and not sell gift certificates or book sessions?Watch the Recession Proof Photo Biz MasterclassWant to be in my exclusive Facebook Group?Join Free Facebook Training CommunityNeed a CRM + Project Manager System that ROCKS?Get 50% Off Your First Year of HoneybookInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/ashleyjuneco/

Episode 2: Overcoming Photography Industry Burnout (With Guest Star Ashley Mckenzie Photography)
Are you feeling overwhelmed in your photography business? Feel like you have to work during the most beautiful nights and weekends of the year? Do you lack balance in your personal life and don’t know what to focus on during the week in your business? In this episode of The #PHOTOBESTIES Podcast, my best friend and wedding photographer, Ashley McKenzie, from Ashley Mckenzie Photography, joins us for a chat all about burnout in the photography industry. We chat about the different times in our businesses when we were feeling overwhelmed, and the steps that we took to allow us more freedom in our businesses.Every photography season, there seems to be anxiety that we are running into a new busy season without feeling rested from our previous year. Anything from booking out all of your nights and weekends, to committing to double (even triple!!) header wedding weekends that leave you exhausted or fall family sessions up the wazoo. When we are constantly running full steam ahead, how does that impact our client experiences? Are we truly able to give them the experience that they deserve, or are we leaving them unimpressed and feeling like they’re not the top priority? Some of the things that have helped both of us are theming days in our weeks for specific work that needs to be completed, and shooting a maximum amount of sessions or weddings per week or month. We recommend keeping promises to yourself, and being comfortable setting boundaries. It’s not always an easy thing to implement, but we all eventually feel the pain of needing to make changes. What’s holding you back from making these changes? Maybe your pricing is not setup to be super sustainable? Maybe you feel bad saying “no” to your clients? But remember, you start to reach a point where when you are constantly working and reaching regular burnout, that your ROI (return of “time” investment) just isn’t there. We are more productive when we rest and have focus.Overall, one of the most powerful lifestyle changes we can make is reducing decisions we make on a daily basis - this could be anything from meal planning to having a “work” uniform. The more simple you keep your life and business, the more productive you will be. But it’s HARD as creatives to discipline ourselves at times. To begin, choose one thing to focus on and work on that right now. Reassess your boundaries and make the needed changes you’ve been craving.Want even more help streamlining your decisions? Snag 50% OFF of Honeybook (aka a $200 discount for your first year). Episode 1: Top 3 Ways To Photo Biz Success
Are you dreaming of the time & money freedom your photo biz can give your family? Well you have come to the right place. In this pilot episode of The #PHOTOBESTIES Podcast, I talk all about my photography journey and how I was able to create a photography business that fit my life design so I could be home with my family and build a life I loved. It all started in 2009, when I had a bad breakup with a boy who had a camera. That exposure lead to me into the photography world right out of college pursuing a fun and creative outlet. A few years later, I met my husband and we got married. I had thought about starting a photography business, but it wasn’t until I was fired from my first “real” job that I decided to whole-heartedly jump in.When I first started my business, it was a slow grind. But as the years went by, I discovered that I had built an incredible business while my peers were struggling to book clients, yet alone bring in substantial income for their families. Why was I so successful?Building ConnectionsIf I hadn’t built incredible connections with photographers in the industry and other business owners, I would have never had the opportunities that I did then (and still do even today!).Business ObsessionWhen other people were watching Netflix, in my seasons of hustle I was consuming marketing & strategy trainings. I didn’t quit even when business felt slow, and would always bring in new and innovative strategies that I learned outside of the photography industry.Perfecting One ThingWhen I was a photo biz newbie, I decided to spend my time learning SEO and working on getting my website ranked. I quickly was able to rank on the first page for “Denver Wedding Photographer,” and throughout the years, SEO brought me qualified and consistent leads and helped feed the health of my business. Even when I stopped taking photography clients, I got over 250 inquiries that year without an ounce of marketing and non-existent social media profiles because I deleted or changed them. Are you ready to perfect one thing? We all need consistent leads if we want to be booking enough clients. I think Facebook Ads are where it’s at right now. Here’s my TOP 10 TIPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS RUNNING FACEBOOK ADS if you want to start learning how to run Facebook Ad campaigns that convert.EPISODE LINKSDownload Top 10 Tips For Photographers Running Facebook AdsGet Free GuideWant to be in my exclusive Facebook Group?Join Free Facebook Training CommunityNeed a CRM + Project Manager System that ROCKS?Get 50% Off Your First Year of HoneybookInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ashleyjuneco/
