[VIDEO] Grow Your Business 10 Times Faster & Attract Better Strategic Alliances by Niching
How does a bookkeeper for restaurants grow at 10 times the rate of a general bookkeeper and experience one fifth of the stress? Many of us underestimate how easy it is to run a successful business when you niche. In fact, this was reinforced by a recent American Express small business survey across the Asia Pacific region, which revealed that the small businesses that were thriving, were the ones with a well defined niche. I had the pleasure of interviewing one of our favourite friends of PartnerUp, Andrew Roberts the Founder of Podiatry Hive, about his successes in business since niching his target market (and how niching helped him secure lucrative strategic alliances more easily). In this candid, entertaining and deeply insightful interview, find out how one of Andrew’s clients turns over a seven figure profit working a little as 3 days per week. Andrew also uses a great analogy about standing on the shore of the ocean taking pod shots at fish, when you could put some fish in a bucket and hit it with a'machine gun'. You're going to be way more effective with way less effort. In the full interview (available to members of our ongoing support program), Andrew shares specifics on how he approached the Podiatry associations with a win win approach using the law of reciprocity, and with an attitude of abundance (some of the keys to successful strategic alliances). He also demonstrates how powerful it is to activate your ‘partner friendly’ radar, and take action when opportunities arise. He also talks about how he secured promotional exposure worth over $7,000 to his business for just a few hundred dollars, and a response rate that was far higher than what he would have achieved if he’d marketed directly to Podiatrists, rather than working via his strategic partners. Andrew generously shares his top 3 tips in niching, for attracting amazing strategic alliances and marketing partners, easily growing your business 10 times faster with a fraction of the stress. Here’s a snapshot for you of Andrews top tips for niching. 1. You don’t have to niche your product, you just have to niche your market - many clients and strategic partners will feel privileged that you’ve chosen their industry. 2. You can’t steer a parked car – you need to go with your gut and take action - it doesn’t take long to become an expert when you focus on a niche market and you will develop very sought after assets. 3. Test the marketplace – line up one mar

[PODCAST 003]: Top 3 tips for successfully leveraging a group buying site to grow your business
Katrina McCarter is the Founder of Bubbler, a group buying site targeting family deals to mums with kids under 12.  Launching, in only January 2012, she quickly, and successfully grew her business off the back of a clever strategic alliance strategy (be sure to watch part 1 and part 2 in this series). Despite the bad reputation many group buying companies have earned by not being partner friendly, find out how you can successfully partner with a group buying program to catapult your results, and protect your business. In this week's blog, Katrina shares her top 3 tips for running a group buying campaign. The fact that many of her merchants return every year, is testament to the successes they achieve through partnering with Bubbler. Choose your partner wisely, and be selective – how does the group buying business align with your business?  Target market alignment is more important than the size of the database.  How do the brand attributes of the group buying site link in with your own brand attributes?  Do your research, and read reviews to ensure your brand is well represented Get your offer right – give the group buying customers a taste of what you do, but don't give it all away!  Group buying is about bringing in new customers – it's about brand awareness and bringing new customers in, and you must keep this in mind at all times.  Don't commit to an offer you can't sustain, that will compromise your ability to maintain the best customer service; Expose yourself (not in a way that will get you arrested!) – consider elements of the group buying campaign offer, like how much promotional exposure you're getting through the campaign, check that you aren't being promoted alongside your competitors etc. If you're serious about catapulting your results, and joining a community of other dynamic partner friendly businesses, click here to find out more about our next 2 day intensive programs.

[PODCAST 001]: The 4 key ways Bubbler used strategic alliances to successfully grow to 30,000 members in under 2 years! – Part 1
Katrina McCarter, Founder of Bubbler, is a kindred spirit when it comes to our love of using strategic alliances to successfully, and quickly grow a business. Bubbler is a group buying site targeting family deals to mums with children aged 0-12. During this 3 part podcast with Katrina, we learn about her success strategies from her time in grocery, to launching and quickly growing her own business. Hear about how she's building on that success as a part of the PartnerUp Community, and learn how you can successfully use a group buying campaign to grow your business. Want parts 2 and 3? If you're subscribed to our newsletter, you'll receive these shortly. Otherwise, like us on Facebook to be updated as these become available. Learning about the power of alliances during her time in the Grocery industry, Katrina had cleverly used strategic alliances in the following 4 ways to build her business quickly (she only launched Bubbler in January 2012!): Given the bad reputation group buying programs have earned among merchants and clients Katrina set out to establish credibility and trust by aligning with Playgroups WA; Katrina believes in learning from others further along in their journey and formed alliances with key players in her industry; Marketing partnerships were a key focus in growing her database to over 30,000 mums in such a short time!; Cause marketing is a key strategy for giving back to the causes that matter to the Bubbler audience (I.e. Schools and playgroups). Katrina topped the honours list when she joined the PartnerUp Community, forming successful alliances off the back of our half day Seminar. Then whilst extending her knowledge and skills at our 2 day Intensive, she launched a campaign with a fellow attendee, just 3 days after the event! She is a shining example of what is possible when you have a partner friendly mindset, and you surround yourself with the right people. If you'd like to catapult your results and mingle with other dynamic, partner friendly businesses, join us for our next half day Seminar in Sydney (28/2), and Melbourne (7/3).
