Learning to Receive
Welcome to Episode #31 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Melonie Taylor. So this week, our entire interview will be back on the footy field getting ready for the game of the season called “Learning to Receive” Summary of today’s game: Ball Magnet: Player who accumulates a large number of possessions of the ball is said to be a ball magnet Enjoy your life! You don’t have to be retired to stop working and enjoy your world, you don’t know I you’re going to make it that long! Thinking negatively or positively attracts more of the same, and actually affects how your life plays out.  Ball-up (also bounce or ruck): Restart of play after the ball has been whistled "dead" by the umpire. The opportunity to fix your life and make it better is always there, just hit that reset button and restart your life! Always introduce new and useful actions to your life, keep at it for 30 days and it will become a new habit! Boil Over: An unexpected upset in which a team not expected to win by any stretch of the imagination pulls off a victory No matter what, you always have the inner strength to approach and overcome life’s challenges. Be aware the way you judge yourself and how it affects you, you can always choose to treat yourself more kindly.  Final message from today’s game: Sometimes most of the stress in your life is created by you, so find where you can take some pressure off yourself.  Want to contact the guest? Find Your Worth Behind Bars
Welcome to Episode #30 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Ashley Noelle. So this week, our entire interview will be crafted around an Intramurals Soccer Game. Because even though intramurals are supposed to be for fun, it can sometimes get out of hand.  This game will be all about “Find Your Worth Even Behind Bars”. Summary of today’s intramural game: Signing Up - you have to book yourself into a program before you can begin Decisions can make things happen, but it’s constant action that makes them come out in full flight. As a parent, if you don’t take care of yourself first, you’re not going to fully take care of your kids as you should. Showing Up & Practicing - if you’ve ever been on an intramurals team, practice isn’t really a priority for many teammates - which can be frustrating for those who may be taking it a tad more seriously It’s not easy to change yourself, you have to try and you have to get out of your comfort zone. Sometimes you need to take everything back to basics, even just to feel grateful to have a healthy body.   Anger Management - it’s not what happens to you but how you react to it matters You should always consider what do you want to be remembered for? When you’re acting mean towards somebody, think about why you do it, and how you could feel much better by being their friend. Win/Lose Have Fun - there’s no need to beat ourselves up - enjoy the ride Blaming yourself will never solve anything, learn from your mistakes and move forward! Set attainable goals for yourself, get through the ups and downs, and roll with it. Sometimes success is to just never give up, have a plan and follow it to the end, because failure to plan is planning to fail. Final message from today’s game: You can be like a glue stick, sometimes you have to break before you can shine. You have value, even if you don’t see it, out of all the stars, galaxies, mountains, and oceans, it was still necessary to have you. Want to contact the guest? Healing Painful Family Relationships
Welcome to Episode #29 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Louise Armstrong.  This week, our entire interview will be crafted around the sport, Long Distance Running and particularly a 10KM Run.  Running is nothing more than a series of arguments between the part of your brain that wants to stop and the part that wants to keep going.  Today’s run will be all about “Healing Painful Family Relationships”. Which at times can feel like you’re running a 10KM or even a marathon for that matter... Summary of today’s run:  Get the Right Kind of Equipment - footwear and clothing are two essential elements required to optimise our run  First thing first – we have to decide that we are going to go on the run There’s no way in creating love connections if we don’t love ourselves Seeking for help – you’re not alone Focusing on ourselves – no one can make you feel anything Facing who we are – we cannot change something if you don’t know are we’re changing Feeling empowered through the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – how to change negative into positive thoughts Hypnosis techniques – accessing the mind’s subconsciousness   Lengthen Your Stride - things take time... The mother and daughter relationship Dealing with a destructive relationship with your mother – Louise’s personal story Think bigger. Never give up – there’s always hope   Believe In Yourself & Enjoy it - if you don’t believe in yourself, then how will you get there? Getting started with a gratitude journal and affirmation routines Law of Attraction – you’re going to attract whatever you have inside you Visualization techniques – how good do you feel arriving at your goal? Choosing how we react – nobody else has this power over us   Eat Well - To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art ... Celebrating every single little win we may have along the way Having a plan to keep us moving forward – the more we move forward the stronger we get The mind and body connection    *Final message from today’s 10KM Run: There’s hope for everyone no matter where you are However bad your situation is, you can always change it The hardest thing is to get started Reaching out as a signal of strength    Want to contact the guest? Dance Our Worries Away
Welcome to Episode #28 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Sharon Somekh. So this week get ready to break it down with our interview being crafted all over the dance floor as our teacher, Sharon teaches us Zumba! Put on your running shoes, get in comfy workout clothes, grab a bottle of water & let’s “Dance Our Worries Away!” Summary of today’s dance: Zumba Gear You need to wear appropriate clothing for comfort. You want to be free to break it down, right? Don’t get lost in the responsibilities, remember to have fun! Seeking help and support is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s ok to make mistakes, just be aware and learn from them. If you don’t take care of yourself first, you can’t care for someone else properly. Basic Salsa Salsa is a major step in Zumba and there’s different variations of Salsa, but the basic salsa has 7 steps... There is a difference between giving people what they want, and what they need; what they want isn’t always going to make them happy. Taking too much care of someone isn’t always good, you need to teach them to be responsible and to handle the hard parts of life. Only you can put yourself in a bad mood, and only you can take you out of it. Reggaeton Time Reggaeton is the latin form of "hip-hop." It is a high energy dance. You know that means? Attitude please! You must start by thinking about your goals, and change your attitude to bring you closer to these goals. Your feeling of guilt, frustration, or anger, isn’t serving anyone well; you need to find and solve the issues causing it.  Zumba 411 Let loose and have fun! It’s your choice to be happy with your life, and enjoy the ride! Every new experience is a new challenge, don’t fear it, embrace and learn from it. No matter what you’re experiencing right now, good or bad, it’s not going to be forever.  Final message from today’s dance off: It’s not the problems or the frustrations you face every day, it’s your attitude towards them that really matters. Learn to be Unapologetically Awesome
Welcome to Episode #27 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Vicki O’Connor.  Tennis can be played as singles or doubles and this week our match will be played in doubles. As sisterhood, a team or even a relationship relies on two individuals becoming one. We can all accomplish more if we work together. So let’s put on our running shoes, grab our rackets and get on the court for our practice session called “Learn to be Unapologetically Awesome” Summary of today’s practice:  Serving – A tennis serve is a weapon only when the technique is correct. When the serve technique is not correct, then the serve is often more a liability than an asset. Self-acceptance – it’s okay to be who you are You don’t have to give up your identity after becoming a mom/dad We cannot pour from an empty cup – Doing what we love in order to be able to give more Energy can be read – The energy we put out in the world can be felt by everyone else Energy communication – feminine and masculine energy Drop Shot – A soft shot that drops just over the net. Acknowledging that you’re doing the best you can with the knowledge you have now Giving yourself permission to do it right or wrong – You can’t teach what you don’t know We all come here to learn big and small lessons – There’s no such thing as a perfect parent Would’ve, could’ve and should’ve are irrelevant Do it for yourself - Don’t live up to meet societal external expectations Acknowledging your wins and congratulating yourself for them Strength comes from acknowledging and embracing both of your strength and weakness Match Results - winning or losing… how do you take it? It’s not all about the winning but the journey – losses teach your things Definition of success – having people you love and who loves you around that can be called friends Jam - To hit the ball near or at your opponent’s body, causing an awkward or weak return. Feminine and masculine energy are present in every human being Focus on self-acceptance – it’s okay to be who you are, how you are and where you are The energetic impact of self-acceptance – it helps you feel better and be less judgmental about you and everybody else  *Final message from today’s practice: Accepting yourself as you are Accepting everybody else as they are Letting yourself and other people off the hook Supporting each other – You don’t lose because I win and vice-versa  Want to contact the guest? Building Your Pyramid On and Off The Field
Welcome to Episode #26 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Fabi Paolini. So this week, our entire interview will be constructed around The World Cup Semi Finals in Soccer. This game will be all about “Building Your Pyramid On and Off The Field”. Summary of today’s match: Character - in any sport and life character matters. It’s defined by what we do when no one is looking... A strong foundation is essential for a strong and successful business. Your unique character and mindset are the foundations of your commitment to your purpose Believe in yourself first. Competition - it’s everywhere & the best part of competition is that through it we discover what we are capable of - and how much more we can actually do than we ever believed possible It’s hard to create something completely new in our modern world, always focus on being one of a kind instead. Always focus on your Six S’s: Style, Skills, Successes, Superpower, Stories, and Steps. Bring out what makes you different. Uniform - All sports have a uniform and for most people, when they put that uniform on - they feel the most proud of themselves. You need to understand who you are at the core, to know where you’re coming from, in order to know where you’re going. You need to understand who your audience are, too. It’s always good to have some help with your work, but hands on experience and continues work is your way to success. Final message from today’s soccer game: Build your foundation first, a strong foundation is the base of every success. If you’re a parent or expecting, building your own business might be the best thing you could do for your kids. Always remember your priorities.   Want to contact the guest? Start With I
Welcome to Episode #25 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Melissa Wiringi.   This week, our entire interview will be acquired around the video game, Mario Kart.   So put on your wheel strap (if playing on Wii), choose your player and let’s start today’s game called “Start With I”. Summary of today’s video game:   Contenders - you can play solo against the computer OR up to 8 players with friends & family How lonely and scary you feel being in an abusive relationship Getting out of an abusive relationship may take different time to different people Taking ownership of your own life and have the braveness to move over that fear once you are ready Getting professional help can definitely lead you into a way of self-improvement Sharing with the others can help you to accept your own situation   Choosing Your Character - life is all about choice… in Mario Kart there are 14 unlockable characters to choose from “Art of Happiness” by Dalai Lama – choosing what we think does impact on how we feel Happiness is about being appreciative of your life Taking small steps – how a gratitude journal, a daily affirmation routine and writing have changed Melissa’s life for the better Being open minded and trying all things that may make you possibly happy Being happy is an ongoing lifelong commitment and not an overnight process Happiness must start with yourself. How would you make people around you happy if you are not happy yourself? Self-worth is the key when you are choosing your own character. Without valuing yourself, how is anyone else going to value you?   Starting Line - We all start at the same place - but there are a few key indicators that may enhance our chances of winning... Knowing yourself and your “why” Steve Jobs and Bill Gates success Multipotentialite concept and its roots   Attitude -  we all know playing video games can bring out our true colours... Anger doesn’t serve you any positive purpose As long you don’t let it control you, it’s ok to be angry at times Fight. Forgive. Reconcile Happiness - bad things may happen, but you let it pass like a cloud in the sky If you want your kids to be happy, you have to be happy Learning not to blame yourself when you get angry/sad/frustrated Fights and arguments in front of the kids   *Final message from today’s video game: Integration and patience – we cannot control everything   Want to contact the guest? Incubate Your Passion
Welcome to Episode #24 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Jen Cochrane. This week, our entire interview will be acquired around the board game, Monopoly. So choose your game piece, let the banker divide out $1500 in game money and let’s roll the dice to see who start today’s game called “Incubate Your Passion”.   Summary of today’s board game:   The Setup - 2-8 players and 1 player to be the banker... > Branding Business Creating logo is so important. It doesn't matter if you like your logo. The point of branding a business, the point of even having a logo is to appeal to your target market to your ideal clients.  One of the most important parts of branding is really deeply understanding your target market and who you're trying to talk to,  what language they speak.   Finding things that people are ready resonate with visually to help segment yourself into the right area. Creativity- to find out what they're expecting which leaves you to look into if they're kind of going into a more luxury market or a more bargain market or kind of middle-of-the-road. Colors and Fonts- having a brand is everything look streamline no matter where you are > Parenting You can be strong but you don't have to be masculine to be strong you don't always have to run in that energy. Find some time to nurture yourself and you’ll find strengths from within. Don’t be a people-pleaser. Learn to make decisions based on what you wanted and best for you rather than just trying to please everyone.   Chance Cards - commonly move players, often with lethal consequences (especially due to the Advance To Boardwalk card) Take a chance- you don't have to control everything. Flexibility- be flexible in your planning and be quick on your feet. Satisfaction of simplicity- value the little things in life to see that you don't have to have tons and tons of stuff to be happy.   Give Yourself Time To Play -  on average its a 2 hour game however, the longest record standing is 10 weeks. Being Impatience-  Either you get yourself into a situation where you feel completely and utterly overwhelmed because you're trying to do all the things all at the same time and or you end up with this kind of scattered approach to where you're not really digging in deep and accomplishing much of anything. Figure out who you want to work with, the kind of people that you resonate with and how you can integrate your talents and what you're good at into some sort of product or service that can sell to them.     Monopoly - by owning all the properties with the same colour on the board Branding is one of the most underrated aspects of running a business because it gives you an edge, what makes you special and what makes you stand out from the crowd. Know your special unique features are so that you're instantly recognizable.     Tips & Tricks- buy as many Railroad as you can as they are spread across the board and great for tying up your opponents money later in the game. Don’t buy green properties - they have the highest cost and the lowest return. Instead buy red & orange properties - as players are more likely to land on them due to the adjacent jail. Strengthening your brand- Give yourself time to think about planning and process. It gives you an edge on so many of the other people that are kind of floating through things. Railroads- Have your distribution lined up and know where you can sell stuff. Don’t get too comfortable, stay on your railroads. Know the “Green”- Don't chase the money, chase the passion. If you're just in it for the money, you're not gonna win the game. “Greens” not gonna do it for you. Know the “Red and Orange”- the most attractive to the eye colors in marketing. They instantly grab your attention. Make sure your branding and products are attractive, make sure that you know what your customers are looking for.    *Final message from today’s board game: Stop being afraid and just dive in headfirst and play the game and approach your life and your business with that spirit of play. Be more open and authentic so  people can understand your thought process and who you are as a person.Your right audience is going to be attracted to you and bond with you as a person.   Want to contact the guest? Unstoppable You
Welcome to Episode #23 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Kerry Nelson. This week, our entire interview will be crafted around the sport, Long Distance Running. In the long run it doesn’t matter how far you run or even how fast you go. What matters is that you go the distance you told yourself you could reach. Therefore, today’s run will be all about creating the ”Unstoppable You”. Summary of today’s run: Patience & Consistent– Long distance running is 80% mind and willpower. Additionally, good things come that are slow... It doesn’t matter how far or how fast you go, what matters is that you go the distance you know you can reach You can’t make the next moment come faster, and you can’t make the last moment disappear, you should be right there in the moment. Always give yourself time and attention first, before giving to others. Do the Right Kind of Training - Make sure you’re preparing your body and mind for the right activity for example marathons vs iron mans are completely two different types of training needed Have a clear mission every day, with clearly defined goals, and work only toward these goals. Keep training, the longer you do it, the longer you can go. Time is probably your most precious resource. Joining a Group - a runners group is extremely powerful because your surrounded by likeminded people, learn mindset tricks, share equipment/natural remedies to help eliminate or heal the pain and so much more. Try not to do it all by yourself, people can help. Know when to say yes, and when to say no; we are defined but what we say no to. It might be a long distance, but you can always take it one mile at a time. Find your stride, Find your tempo - we are all on our own journey - focus on you and your pace - no one else. Always pace yourself, and don’t be full of busy-ness without doing actual business. Everyone’s stride is unique to their life, goals, and mission. Be Proud of yourself every step of the way - one mile at a time Always remember to celebrate your wins, big or small. Reward yourself, pause your day and give yourself some time to recharge. *Final message from today’s run: Keep your passion alive, remember it, and keep going. Learn to document every step, and when it’s best to delegate work to other people.   Want to contact the guest? Keep Your Feet Moving
Welcome to Episode #22 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Mike McDonnell. So this week, our entire interview will be dribbled around a Basketball Game called, “Keep Your Feet Moving”. Summary of today’s game: Understanding The Game- Basketball 101 - starting with a slight understanding of the rules of the game (we don’t need to be experts before we begin, but we do need to understand a few basic rules - like dribbling, shooting & passing) It’s not all about the positive side - it’s about preventing the negative side We don’t aim for the highs, we aim to prevent the lows   Team Effort - we can’t win a game solely on our own. We need help from the other 4 people on the court with us. Be picky and intentional of who you surround yourself with Running a business can be quite lonely   Training - Basketball (or any sport for this matter) it’s not 100% about how you play the game on the court when it’s game time - it’s all of the effort, practice and choices off the court that truly prepare you to win Setting up a morning ritual   *Final message from today’s game: Find out what works best for you and your current circumstances Integrate whatever you’re doing into the lifestyle that you have Want to contact the guest?   Add Mike as a friend or send him a message on Facebook   Check out Mike’s Podcast called The Roar Show  Join Mike’s Facebook group for Entrepreneurs called The Confident & Fearless Entrepreneur                          Music in Interview is: BACK IN SUMMER by Nicolai Heidlas Music https://soundcloud.com/nicolai-heidlasCreative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported— CC BY 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b...Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/sGsC98vR4Q4

ImperfectAction on our Biz Journey
Welcome to Episode #21 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Claire Barton. This week, our entire interview will be artistically drawn around the board game, Pictionary. So let’s organise our teammates and begin “Recovering from Perfectionism” through taking “ImperfectAction on our Biz Journey” with our Team Captain Claire. Summary of today’s game: Team Members - Let’s be honest, the entrepreneur journey can be lonely and overwhelming...but it doesn’t have to be Truly has to feel aligned with you Give yourself permission to NOT hang out with those who aren’t your tribe You must pick and choose your cheerleaders Be selective of who you tell what information to Give yourself permission to NOT include every person in your life with your business decisions Sketching A New Word -  just like in the game Pictionary, you have to sketch the word on the card, but what if you can’t draw?! Swim in your own lane Work in your own zone of genius Outsource & automate Learn to let go -- delegate Start with something that’s ‘unstuff-upable’ Rules -  just like in Pictionary, artists can’t use sign language, letters, dashes, speak to teammates, numbers or ears for “sounds like” Create more space to do what you like in life Have some sort of structure to fall back on Set purposeful, boundary driven goals Deck of Cards - just like the game, there’s a deck of cards with a variety of items, the artist must draw Not a fan of going zero to hero really quickly Understanding what you want to get out of your business All about lean startup Have a strategy: where am I going to spend my time and energy & what’s the fastest way / most efficient way without worrying about all the bells and whistles to start with Start making money before you spend it Content creation is about 30% of Claire’s time Start with your core message / messages It has to serve a purpose and have a call to action *Final message from today’s board game: There’s always urgency or pressure when starting/running a business You never know everything There’s always missing pieces Comparinatis is a real thing Give yourself permission to play Have a laugh with it You don’t need to know exactly what the end product will look like to get started with something right now   Want to contact the guest?   Listen to The Recovering Perfectionist Podcast   Website  Freebies Page on Claire’s website (Grab your own 90 day content planner, a tribe tracker and a few other bits!)  Instagram  Facebook                                Music in Interview is: BACK IN SUMMER by Nicolai Heidlas Music https://soundcloud.com/nicolai-heidlasCreative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported— CC BY 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b...Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/sGsC98vR4Q4

Calm Natural Birth and Beyond with Hypnobirthing
Welcome to Episode #20 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Debra Wakefield. So this week, our entire interview will be out on the water, rowing our way to a “Calm Natural Birth and Beyond with Hypnobirthing”. Summary of today’s row: As a Coach- their number one goal is your safety - just like a midwife’s goal for you and the baby 75% of first time mothers who have an epidural will end up having an instrumental or cesarean birth Where we place our focus, is where we’re going Hypnobirthing affirmations and language is different than traditional labour (e.g Contraction vs Surge) Breathe your baby down instead of ‘pushing’ and holding your breath Having Your Lights On - one of the most important elements when rowing at dawn or dusk for everyone’s safety Your environment is VERY important - make it so it’s NOT stimulatingLights dim Covering clocks Warmth in the room Familiar things around you (i.e pillow, wearing your own clothes, photos) Affirmation board / cards Salt lamps Candles (LED candles) Your own playlist Aromatherapy Birth Preference / Birth Plan / Birth Wish The Positive Birth Movement - by Milli Hill  If you fail to plan, you plan to fail It’s not the document that’s important, it’s the process of getting to what you want Familiarize Yourself with Any Pinch Points in Your Local Area - coming around the bend… We don’t want adrenaline in our early labour because that’s our fight / flight response Accupressure helps remind the women to let go and relax Surrendering can trigger the endorphin flow (20-40x more powerful than morphine) Keep away from Ferries - The waves from the ferry can capsize the boat... The Hypnobirthing Australia Course - Melissa Spilsted  The beach analogy of birth Surrender to the wave rather than fight against it 4th trimester is really important *Final message from today’s row: Birth is the beginning of parenting Get independent birth education is paramount You don’t walk up to a bank manager and ask him how to invest your money Don’t expect to rock up to the hospital and think their education will teach you everything you need to know Want to contact the guest? Mark Your Expertise
Welcome to Episode #19 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Natasa Denman. So this week, our entire interview will be running and kicking around the AFL stadium. Welcome to our first game of the season called “Mark Your Expertise”. Summary of today’s game: Field - we’ve gotta start somewhere… Go to someone who has done it before and ask for some help First time authors - must get over themselves first (mindset is a big journey on this road they embark on) THEN secondary is the strategies and processes. Writing a book, shouldn’t take over your life It’s what you do with the book is where you need to invest extra time Speaking out 5 hours of audio is approximately 40,000 words which is the average size book nowadays The reader can read spoken books twice as fast Tremendous Athletes - basketball sized, with the hands and foot speed of an NFL wide receiver and stamina greater than a soccer player. We as business owners, need to fuel ourselves exactly like a high performance athlete to give our ultimate best not only in the work world but at home as well. Consistency is key Treat that time like a paying client Reverse engineer your plans (i.e numbers, dollars, amount of words, goals, etc) and stick to a consistent schedule (e.g 7 pages a week = 2 x 2hour writing sessions/week for 90 days) What gets scheduled gets done Exercise consistently, eat well and meditate regularly - all 3 of these components require commitment (e.g tell yourself, “it’s part of the routine, just like brushing your teeth”) Do the worst thing first Multiple Skills - in AFL you need quite a few skills to make it - kicking, running, handball to name a few. If you can speak, you can write a book If you’re passionate about a topic - make sure your an expert in your topic Choose the idea that will give you the most leverage (eg. related to your business, help you be more credible, etc) Stadium -The MCG is the 10th largest Stadium in the world and THE largest stadium in Australia and actually the southern hemisphere and holds over 100,000 fans! The money isn’t in the book sales Books aren’t purely going to transform someone's life Books are information and knowledge Transformation occurs at implementation Use the book as your business card on steroids Audience - Raving Fans - The AFL is the 4th highest average attendance of any domestic sport league in the world. These are some serious fans. Help those who are invisible become visible Use the book as your launchpad Build communities on social media Go out and network (eg. own hosted events, speaking gigs, attend as a participant) Focus on building relationships and they will naturally evolve into wanting to help each other out *Final message from today’s game: “It’s not about writing your first book, it’s actually about the person you become at the other end of it.” The person you become, becomes the magnetic for opportunities. Visual Models On The Rise
Welcome to Episode #18 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Renee Hasseldine. So this week, our entire interview will be plotted in the Theatre Scene. Welcome to our play called “Visual Models On The Rise!” Summary of today’s play: The Script - a show doesn’t exist without a script... Rather than thinking work, life ‘balance’ - Renee thinks of it as a life ‘blend’ If Renee wasn’t doing work that she loves, than she feels she wouldn’t be the best mom she could be Focus on what’s important Leverage = getting more with less (e.g Achieving more in less time, making more money in less time, serving more clients in less time, etc) 3 Key Levers for leverage:1. Product (serving clients more than she can do in her 1 to 1 time, therefore not limited by number of hours in a school day - ie. workshops, group programs) 2. People (couldn’t do it without her team) *if it’s not in your zone of genius - outsource it 3. Systems (creating automation so things can happen in your sleep)   Main Character -  a play can’t go on without a main character.. Your ideal client is you before you were in transition We teach what we need to learn Misconception: to create leverage it has to be in a 1:many scenario when you CAN create leverage in a 1:1 scenario In the transition period, it’s common to have our income levels dip & that’s ok! Have check in points: eg. 15 minute chats, Facebook Lives, Group Chats, etc Each step along the program you create for your business must have touch points where the client knows they have to have specific tasks completed   The Audience - there would be no show if we don’t keep the audience entertained... Visual models - take the 10 to 20 years experience from your head and convert them into a picture/diagram or model that breaks down the process you’ll be taking your customers through People will remember it more because our brain loves pictures PLUS it gives us a road map Business Porn - what is it in your business that juices you? Zone of Genius - have the distinction between Zone of Genius, Zone of Excellence & Zone of Good Zone of Genius - SO easy for you / into your flow - time just flies doing the work. You lose track of time. Think “I can’t believe I get paid to do this” Collaborate with people who offer complimentary services so you can give referrals Show up as yourselves every day Own your brand essence (eg. Passion, Red) Brand Triad (Personal, Business & Products Brands)   Music - in theatre, there’s always great music as it sets the scenes…. There are many ups & downs and cycles in business - therefore, you have to be honest with yourself and accept the dips To get out of it: have a reality check - reflect on your situation   Want to contact the guest? Flourishing Between Games
Welcome to Episode #17 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Heather Roles. So this week, our entire interview will be crafted around the Stanley Cup Playoffs This round will be all about “Flourishing Between Games”.   Summary from today's game:   Season Points - depending on your total points for the season, you may or may not be qualified for the playoffs. Relationships create the sales When a sale is made, the customer is actually buying a piece of you There are cultural differences depending on where you’re starting/growing your business that you must adapt to   First Period - Getting into the Game: Game 1 begins in the playoffs and our first period clock has begun counting down... “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it & let’s just do it” Know where your strengths are Make sure to have time at the end of the day to reconnect with your other half   Second Period - Getting Knocked Down, Frustrated and Penalties are in full force this period Realise your own frustrations Break the pattern through humour and then educate Trust your instinct Be humble enough in business to realise if you’re a good fit with a potential client OR if someone else could serve them better Every child / adult learns differently   Third Period - Times running out, the game is nearly over... Read Heather’s Blog - All about: Anxiety, Depression & not having a great sense of Self Don’t lose who you are, while parenting - you still need to fill the sense of yourself and that will radiate onto your children Keep a sense of humour If you’re not having fun, why are you doing it?   Want to contact the guest? All The Good Men Are Alive
Welcome to Episode #16 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Lee Chapman. So this week, our entire interview will be in the wilderness with our leader and survival skill expert, Lee. Welcome to our adventure called “All The Good Men Are Alive!” Summary from today’s outback experience:   Finding & Purifying Water - One of the main essentials for survival. What fills a mans tanks are different than females - It’s like Sparkling water vs Mineral water Communication is the key Men and women think differently and interpret things differently Building a Wilderness Shelter from Scratch - If you ever have to spend the night in the wilderness, you want something between you and that wilderness. Your home has to be your sanctuary There has to be rules at home for you and your family Woman - Be weary of the double edge sword Gossip can be very harming - it doesn’t serve you. Roadkill vs fresh meat - which would you prefer to be brought home? Always must allow space for the X factor & it’s all about how do you handle it First couple rule: never go to bed angry If you have something to say, say it. Don’t let it fester Read the book: The 5 Love Languages Starting a Fire WITHOUT a Light - Fire is useful in all survival scenarios and can be a life-saver in many of them. We live in a society of instant gratification, but with relationships it’s not the case You gotta put in a bit effort to get some smoke - same with the relationship Keeping a fire going, is just like a marriage - you need to keep putting on the fuel to keep it going or it will die (i.e regular date days, etc) Anything that happens quickly, dies very quickly If you want a good relationship - it’s a MUST Survival Signals - Assuming you are in a survival situation where rescue is desirable, one must understand the basics of signalling. If you understand your partner's love language then you won’t allow the relationship to get to the full blown signalling stage Come up with your own code words Grab the book: Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus Check out the book: The 5 Love Languages of Children   Final words from today’s outback experience before we head back into the city: Imagine a 3 legged stool: each leg has a different role to play (skills in life, urban skills and your mentality to get around in life & relationship mastery) If you have one of those legs missing, you’ll fall over.   Want to contact the guest? Take a Chance Life is Meant To Be Fun
Welcome to Episode #15 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every single Monday. Now let's chat with this week's featured Guest, Leanne Wood. So this week, our entire interview will be jumping into an extremist lifestyle with Leanne leading the way! Welcome to our adrenaline high called “Take a Chance - Life is Meant To Be Fun” *Remember: personal development is a core component to success for anyone. Summary from today's extreme adventure:   Open Minded - extreme adventure isn’t for everyone, however it can truly teach us MANY things about life and especially ourselves. Gaining the sense of freedom that you can overcome your own fears It’s building a muscle The more we put ourselves outside the comfort zone, our comfort zone grows What holds us back from any success in business is our mindset & the lack of belief in ourselves Fear - Face Everything & Run, False Evidence Appearing Real -- all different acronyms for fear Meets fear head on Become the master to fear and don’t let it control you Over time the feeling of fear was liked, then enjoying stepping into it and feeling the sense of freedom of knowing it doesn’t control me Focusing your energy on the other side Always looking for the edge of your comfort zone and ask yourself: “how can I step beyond that?” Personal development and growth are the ways to overcome fear; training that muscle and making it stronger and stronger Decisions - booking an adventure and telling friends about it increases accountability First and foremost, be accountable to yourself How Leanne does that is by having 3 different vision boards that she looks at everyday: Personal life - who I am, my power virtues, values that are important to her, how she wants to show up, all to do with her health, relationships, her family, her connections spiritually and friendships Business - my vision, my mission, what I’m here to contribute, any charities she’s involved with, her purpose of being and what I want to add as value to this lifetime to the people that are around her Bucket list - lifestyle she is creating, all the things she wants to do, be and have in this lifetime, places she wants to visit, travel adventures, homes, cars She completes a daily ritual of priming herself (while looking at her boards she says out loud positive incantations) She even does this with Sammy (her little boy) *integrate your daily rituals with your children* Sammy and Leanne’s morning daily ritual steps they do together:Sammy has to say 10 “I AM” statements and repeat each I AM statement 10x out loud Sammy says 3 things he is grateful for Say “Please universe give me the one that’s right for me today” & pull out 2 pottery discs and that’s their focus for the day. (They leave them both out) And reflect on it that evening before they go to bed - ask did that come up in his day and have a little chat with him about it When you don’t feel like doing something; it’s all about putting yourself in a powerful state Leap of Faith - one if not all, extreme adventures have an aspect of taking a leap of faith... We have the ability to face fear and overcome it We have the ability to go beyond where we feel our limitations are Achieve things that we feel are our boundaries Self belief Gives you that personal power Going after that and helping other people do the same We really start creating fulfillment when we start operating outside of our comfort zone Everyone is running their own race at their own pace - take that on board Final messages from Leanne: When we can have a why that’s not just for us but greater than us and a why for other people to contribute something of value and really come from a heart space without getting anything for yourself - that’s when business becomes really successful The key to abundance is helping others and contribution Whatever we want to contribute energetically, we will receive back in abundance Some daily habits of Leanne’s that she couldn’t live without:Create a playlist of songs that have anchors to you of empowerment that you associate with your vision boards. Listen to it while saying positive affirmations out loud while using hand gestures with passion - it directs your focus for the rest of the day Create your own mind movie for times when you’re travelling (A mind movie has pictures of your vision board, other pictures and positive words in it) Meditate: helps to keep Leanne calm, grounded and centered Yoga / exercise by going to the gym   Want to contact the guest? Decide The Life You Deserve and If I can Yucan2
Welcome to Episode #12 of The Parenting Biz Podcast - coming to you every Monday. This week's featured guest is Tammy Richie. This week, our entire interview will be crafted around the sport, Tennis. Tennis can be played as singles or doubles and this week our match will be played in doubles. As Leander Paes, a US Open Doubles Champion says: “Life is a lot like tennis.  You need to put your goals on the sidelines and focus on how to deal with what’s at hand.” So let’s put aside any life distractions and concentrate on today’s match: “Decide The Life You Deserve & If I can...Yucan2” Here are some key points summarised in today’s match: Communication & Clarity – a struggle for many...because it involves time, patience and understanding first for ourselves and then with others First person you need to watch your communication and language with is yourself Triad - Language, Focus & Physiology Things don’t happen TO us, they happen FOR us The body can heal itself Fill yourself with gratitude It all comes from emotion Once you decide you want to heal, you absolutely can Give yourself the time to fill your own cup up Learn to follow the heart Who you surround yourself with - you become Grab yourself an accountability partner Strengths & Weaknesses -  we all have them - it’s what you do about them that matters Create a team that compliments your weaknesses Growth comes from outside your comfort zone Choices -  choosing a tennis partner and on the flip side - being chosen. Let your intuition guide you and listen to your heart along the way Don’t be ashamed if you outgrow people or possibly you were never at their level Be the change in the world that you need to see Winning & Losing  - what’s life all about? No justification of blaming others - take complete ownership Take responsibility Focus your energy on where you need to go Positioning - are you standing on the heels of your feet waiting to receive the ball or on the balls of your toes anticipating & ready to go? Opportunities are all around us Lead not follow Create not destroy Heart space is 6x bigger than our headspace Learn to accept Become aware of the law of attraction of what you take on into your own life In life we have patterns and sometimes by staying in these past patterns we’re actually getting in our own way Final key messages from Tammy: Health is one of our biggest assets we all have and sometimes we take it for granted They predict we’re going to outlive our children with today’s mass production, chemicals and unhealthy products all around us Therefore, we must educate ourselves as parents to know what is nourishing for our skin, mind and body and our kids or we will be neglecting ourselves and our kids future Take ownership of what goes in our body, on our body and around our bodies   Want to contact the guest?
