Ep.122: Emotional Damage
Another podcast for ye. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This episode on "Super 8" has nothing to do with Thanksgiving or cheap motels. Well, I suppose you could draw some correlation to cheap motels. This film is made to look like it has a 70's vibe, and a lot of motels were built in the 70's and 80's or whatever and haven't updated much so they still kinda carry that general aesthetic. Speaking of aesthetics, there are few aesthetics that just make me generally uncomfortable as Alf. Frickin creeps me out. I can't put a finger on it, but Alf is just an unseemly looking character. Like a rotten roll of shag carpet in your grandma's basement that nobody wants to touch because it was ripped up in like 1978 and it's been there for too long and it's kind of a fixture of the place and an eyesore....

Ep. 121: A Pacifist Says No to a BAR
Little pun for the WWII nerds out there. If you know, you know. Exciting episode for a few reasons. 1. We're back (ish) 2. I finally fixed the dang Philmosophical bumper so it's not so hard on the ears 3. we drop some thoughts on the Rings of Power (current event commentary sellouts? Not so fast.) 4. we review a fantastic yet sobering movie about the true story of Desmond Doss: "Hacksaw Ridge." Also, Halloween release day. I don't care. Halloween is for kids, adults who refuse to grow up, and emos. There, I said it. The truth hurts. Be a Christmas enjoyer like a normal person. But not too early. You know who you are.

Ep. 120: Love & Responsibility
Deal with it, John. We watched Thor 4 and kinda liked it. That aside, it's not as if we have a gap in episodes because a certain editor had a brain fart and completely forgot to try and upload the episode or anything for an entire week. That'd be crazy. Almost as crazy as the fact Thor: Love and Thunder isn't trash.

Ep. 119: Real Human Connection
The internet drives people to do crazy things. Or, rather, the desire for real human connection drives people to do crazy things. Like take an unannounced break from your podcast for several weeks, or think everyone around you is an animal and accidentally uncover several conspiracy theories in the process. You know, like you do. In this week's topic, Odd Taxi.

Ep. 118: SALTCAST WARNING
THE NATIONAL SALTCAST SERVICE HAS ISSUED A WARNING FOR INCREASED LEVELS OF SALT IN YOUR PALLADIAN PAPISTS PODCAST. THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS, IT'S THE LONG-AWAITED DEBUT OF THE SALTCAST BUMPER. YEAH THAT'S RIGHT, WE'RE GETTING SALTY ABOUT A FEW DIFFERENT THINGS AND STARTING A NEW FORMAT. AND YES, FAITH WAS OK WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT, WE CHECKED.

Ep. 117: Best Friends, Am I Right?
Indoctrination and propaganda are some serious business. You wouldn't expect heavy subject matter and comedy to mix, but yet somehow in Taika Waititi's "Jojo Rabbit" they blend in a rather thought-provoking way. See, I can write more serious descriptions.

Ep. 116: Care for Some Gopher?
If you ain't got no radio, you can still listen to this here iPod Broadcast on any of them newfangled devices you so please to make use of in this fine country, I do tell you hwat boah. Now iff'n you desire to satiate and dare I say - I do dare say, ingratiate yo self - I say here now listen to this episode of the Palladian Papists as they discuss gopher and those cinematic masterminds the Coen brothers themselves, yessah, the Coen bothers I say, and their just dandy and sophisticated motion picture - with sound mind you, a bona fide talkie, "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"

Ep. 115: Dank Sus 2: The Third Part
We're rekindling the flame of the Dark Souls [Dank Sus (Patent pending){just kidding...unless...?}] universe in this week's discussion of Dark Souls III. I had to go back and re-listen to this episode a bunch because I didn't want the title and the joke in the bit to be conflicting. That's just the level of effort I put into this pod for the 2 of you. Be grateful. Or not. Do what you want. But if you want me to like you...

Ep. 114: Hello There
There. That's the title. I hope you're happy Nathan. Actually, overall, I was happy to see Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan again, not gonna lie. My question is how on earth or Tatooine for that matter he cooks that giant fish meat or whatever that stuff is that's definitely not rubber, so shut up, to where it's edible. Is it an animal? A fish? Sand seal a la Breath of the Wild? 0/10, unanswered meat questions.

Ep. 113: It's a MetroidVania and I WANTS IT
Nathan's birthday has come and gone as of the uploading of this video, so he gets to talk about video games and one of his favorite things at that. Axiom Verge. Which brings up a lot of questions, like are we truly conscious people popping from reality to reality or are we just pixelated brains being stimulated in a digital jar? No joke, Reilly and I both said that absentmindedly and half-awake said it out loud at the same time while lifting weights early in the morning in college, minus the pixelated part but the original quote whatever it is if you follow me.

Ep. 112: Run
Run. We're reviewing Demon Slayer. Bada bing, bada boom, skippidy bop mmmmmdada, here we go. Can't think of much of a description this week. Deal with it.
50 minutes | Jun 20, 2022
Ep. 111: Megamand
It's our eleventy-first episode! We don't remember half as many bits as we would like, and like less than half of them half as much as they deserve. Anyway, we talk not about Lord of the Rings, but "Megamind" by Dreamworks.
78 minutes | Jun 13, 2022
Ep. 110: Subliminal Twitter
The Benedict that produces the eggs is probably from the same farm where chocolate cows produce the chocolate milk. The Cumberbatch. What doesn't involve farms whatsoever (or eggs really) is the Disney Plus series "The Mysterious Benedict Society."

Ep. 109: SHshSHShSh.
We bucked the Podcast Formula (rated E for everyone) by accident so Future James (Rated M) (TM) had to backtrack and do a little bit of cleanup. Speaking of a lot of cleanup and attempted government coverup, we review Brad Bird's animated feature "The Iron Giant" in this week's episode.

Ep. 108: Bye Bye Bertie
In the next installment of our unofficial COMM 101 we're going to talk about public speaking, particularly of the royal variety. Watch a head of state ascend to a state of leadership and overcome a speech impediment to unite a country in the face of great struggle. Successfully. Ahem. In "The King's Speech."

Ep. 107: Big Squatch & COMM 101
Good morning class. I know you're all probably hammered and hungover but it's time for your COMM 101 class. Yes, 10 out of the 100 students are actually still showing up for class, and I've barely even presented any new information since I handed out the syllabus months ago. I'll cut you guys a break. Let's just watch and discuss Arrival in our class today. That good? Good. No you don't get extra credit for being here.

Ep. 106: Which One Do You Feed?
Inside you, there are (at least) two Oscar Isaacs. Which one dominates your life depends upon which one you feed. But if you manage to get the two of them to get along then a more murderous one will manifest and silently assassinate the cheesy metaphor in the back of a limo while dead birdman watches. That's right, we're talking about Moon Knight on Disney Plus.
72 minutes | May 9, 2022
Ep. 105: Pugilist Turned Padre
We're talking about Fr. Stu. No we're not bandwagoning on a popular-in-the-Catholic-sphere-right-now movie trends and stuff, shut up. Mark Wahlberg didn't give us an advanced copy to review and interview him unlike some people, ahem. But yeah, John talks to us about Fr. Stu because he's seen it.
63 minutes | May 2, 2022
Ep. 104: Because 60s
It's the 60's. Make of that what you will. Self discovery, Russians, profligacy whatever that means and 1 like = 1 box top to educate a poor child with one whole slice of cardboard. That's right, it's "The Queen's Gambit."
68 minutes | Apr 25, 2022
Ep. 103: Just Gonna End It
Don't worry it's not what you think. Unless what you think of is an existential crisis war by humanity against an alien race forcing children to undergo training to become strategic masterminds to gain the upper hand in said war, then yeah, you got it right. Good job. We're talking about Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game."
