As the producer of Supergrass’ debut album `I Should Coco’, an album which became the biggest-selling debut on Parlophone since The Beatles, Sam Williams made quite an entrance with his first major label production. The son of two guitar teachers and brother of world-renowned classical guitarist John Williams, Sam was born and raised into a world of music. He has made countless records with the likes of Plan B, Kula Shaker, Noisettes, Tom Jones and more. With his move into film and TV composing he brought a lifelong love of movie scores into the electronic age. Ed asked him which are his favourite soundtracks and why. Since then he has directed ten features. During this interview Johannes receives some pretty momentous news which he relays live on air. It may prove a major turning point in his career as he moves from horror to more mainstream fare. His latest film 47 Meters Down will be out in 2016, movie mogul Bob Weinstein was a producer on it. Johannes joined Ed to discuss working with Bob, his approach to filmmaking, and the highs and lows of his career. The jazz music throughout the podcast was composed by pianist Rob Bargad.
