Walking the Walk and Pressing Pause
We have a confession to make.  You know how we started a podcast, started emailing you regularly, started pumping out free content on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, successfully launched The CEO Circle for the first time, all while running coaching and consulting businesses, and still tried to have some semblance of a personal life with our husbands Preston and Mark?  Yeah… we're exhausted.  So instead of just helping other successful women mitigate burnout, we've decided to take some of our own advice and not just talk the talk, but truly walk the walk.  We've decided to press pause on The NU CEO Podcast for a minute.  But that doesn’t mean we’re going to leave you hanging.   We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how we can best support you with free content and have decided that we want to funnel our time and energy into creating some exciting new workshops for you. Lead with Your Personality: Introverted and Extroverted Leadership
Are you leading with your personality? Or are you trying to conform to some previously established version of what it looks like to be a leader? There are two personality traits that are often misunderstood, introversion and extroversion. Many people believe that introverts are shy or anti-social and that extroverts are the life of the party. While that can certainly be true sometimes, the actual definition is based on how each type gets its energy. Introverts recharge their energy by spending time alone and extroverts recharge by spending time with others. So what do introversion and extroversion look like in the leadership realm? Does one type make a better leader than the other? In this week’s episode, Bindi shares four ways that you can lead with your personality and leverage your strengths to become an even better CEO, Founder, or Executive. Then continue listening as Natalie joins and they each share how they’re unique personalities (Natalie is an extrovert and Bindi is an introvert) helped shape their careers and the ways that they learned how to flex. ~~~~~~~~   We are passionate about helping people become more modern, mindful leaders and are currently enrolling a small number of womxn into our upcoming mastermind, The CEO Circle. The Other B-Word: Boundaries
As women, partners, wives, founders, and executives, we’re used to attuning ourselves to the needs and desires of others so it’s important to set boundaries. Boundaries honor our needs, define the roles we play in every area of our lives, teach others how to treat us, and prevent burnout and resentment. So how do you set boundaries at work? In this episode, Dr. Natalie Underdown is sharing three simple ideas you can use to help set your boundaries.  Plus, she walks you through five questions you need to ask yourself to gain clarity on your core values and beliefs which are critical to boundary setting: Who did you learn this core value from? Is the core value in alignment with the life/career/business you want to lead? Do the beliefs that come from that value support you or keep you stuck? Is the core value identified still true? If not, what is your new core value? What could you believe instead to support you + align with your true core value?   Then co-host, Bindi Belanger joins as they go deeper into this topic and discuss: Whether personality types affect your ability to set boundaries How to know if you’re failing at boundary setting The link between poor boundaries and narcissistic managers What to do if you’re a leader who gets a little too personal in your conversations ~~~~~~~~   We are passionate about helping people become more modern, mindful leaders and are currently enrolling a small number of womxn into our upcoming mastermind, The CEO Circle. Control + Creativity: Innovation During Uncertain Times (Ep.10)
As leaders, we feel a strong sense of responsibility for the future of our business and the wellbeing of our team, but when you’re the captain steering the ship and it feels like the wheel has been taken away from you, it’s hard not to feel helpless, powerless, frustrated or even betrayed.    As human beings and especially as leaders, autonomy is central to our sense of well being and when we feel like we’ve lost control, the most common reaction is to try to regain that control at all costs and quote, get back to normal. But what if you used this time to make some creative pivots in your business?   In this week’s episode, we're sharing how to recognize what you can control and then how to get creative around the things that you can’t. And if you've been feeling stuck creatively, listen in for a quick visualization exercise that will help you generate that spark of innovation.   ~~~~~~~~   We are passionate about helping people become more modern, mindful leaders and are currently enrolling a small number of womxn into our upcoming mastermind, The CEO Circle. Remote Leadership: What Your Team Wants You to Know But Won't Say
If your business used to be in person, but has now been remote for the past 6 months or so since Coronavirus turned life as we knew it upside down - chances are you’ve gotten into the swing of things when it comes to remote work.  But what we’re talking about today is remote LEADERSHIP.  Your employees may be feeling certain things that they’re simply not expressing because times are tough, they’re grateful to have a job, and they don’t want to ruffle any feathers. That said, it’s your job as a leader to keep them engaged and get the best out of your team - and you can’t do that if you don’t know how they’re feeling. In this episode, Dr. Natalie Underdown is sharing the top three things your employees want you to know but aren’t telling you. Banish Burnout for You and Your Team (Ep.7)
Burnout is not something that has to happen. It can be prevented, you don’t have to experience it, you can heal from it, and as a leader, you better believe you can create an environment that does not contribute to it. So that's what we’re talking about today: First, how to understand the root cause of burnout for yourself (so that you can begin to address it and start healing) Then how to protect your team from burnout by creating a psychologically safe work environment and culture Listen in as Natalie walks us through part one of the episode with a quick overview, then Bindi joins to go deeper into the discussion as they share their personal experiences, insights, and suggestions. And don't forget, we're currently accepting applications for The CEO Circle, an inspired community of womxn CEOs, Founders, and Senior Executives in a 3-month leadership development and coaching program. Plus, listen in as Natalie shares her very personal story of burnout and what happened when she let it go too far. How Empathic Leaders Can Manage Their Energy
An empathic leader deeply feels the energy of other people as well as places and things. There are empaths everywhere but sometimes it’s easy to forget that empaths exist in business too. In the first few minutes of this episode, you'll learn: The two most important things you can do to manage your energy as an Empathic Leader Bindi's favorite ways to do each of them   Then continue listening as Bindi and Natalie as they discuss: How and why some leaders subconsciously "armor up" before going into work How to quickly reset your energy before and after meetings or challenging situations How family and friends suffer when empaths come home from work drained of energy The difference between being empathetic and taking on the energy of another person Why energy management is so critical to being an effective leader Why balancing masculine and feminine energies is so important for today's leaders Why it's so important for leaders to recognize where they might be losing energy at work How to keep your "energy gas tank" full Why managing your energy can make the difference between suffering every day through a stressful job and embracing the challenge that your work presents   Need some help leading and managing your team while everyone is working from home?
