S7 Ep24: 3rd February 2023 - Scunthorpe United & Cambridge City
Seven seasons ago he was managing in Step 6. Now he's managing in the top tier of non-league at a club that until the summer had spent over 70 years in the Football League. His first task is to stabilise the club under a new regime and Jimmy Dean is more than up for that task at Scunthorpe United. Chairman at Cambridge City. Kevin Satchell has dealt with ground eviction, nomadic existence, High Court actions and planning reviews in his time at the club, yet it still thrives and things can only get better as they near moving into their purpose-built ground some ten years since they left their last permanent home.  Executive Editor at The Non League Paper Jon Couch is on hand to round up the week’s news, and previews another bumper weekend paper as the weather looks favourable again on the football calendar

S7 Ep23: 27th January 2023 - FA Vase 4, Clevedon Town & FA Cup 4
They are still trying to play the majority of games in Round Four of the FA Vase. Hopefully it will be third time lucky for many this weekend. We speak to a Chairman of a club that survives on volunteers alone behind the scenes, we chat about the impact in the post COVID era, about postponements and why the FA Vase is so important to a club like his. Brian Rose of Clevedon Town also gives us some insight into the travel required for clubs in the Western League and the impact the end of this season restructure might have. Phil Annets is back too. This time with his @FACupFactfile hat on. There may only be one non-league club left in the competition, but as he points out that isn’t that unusual although the lack of Premier League clubs left in the competition is. Rounding up the week’s news, in a fairly quiet week without too many games, Editor at Large at The Non League Paper Matt Badcock returns to the show

S7 Ep22: 20th January 2023 - Yaxley, FA Vase 4 & Ascot Utd
We start this week with the youngest manager in the pyramid. Just 20 years old, fate has forced him out of playing- for a while at least - he’s gone into the dugout and Sammy Mould has helped new club Yaxley to their first win of the season already. A great listen and inspiration to all young managers. Inspiring other clubs in the pyramid Ascot United. Chairman Simon Negus his fellow board members and other volunteers at the club go above and beyond to create a club with over 700 registered players ,with a first team knocking on the door to Step 4. Rounding up the week’s news including once again managerial changes, clubs for sale and the impact of non league on Love Island Jon Couch of the Non League Paper.

S7 Ep21: 13th January 2023 - FA Trophy Round 4, Harrow Borough and FA Vase 4th Rd

Given us insight into the FA Vase it’s Phil Annets with his @FAVase Factfile hat on.  He also gives us a heads up on the return of the Generation Cup, celebrating those clubs who took part in the first decade of the FA Cup competition. Rounding up the week’s news including managerial changes, clubs for sale and who from Non League Paper Towers is the Love Island expert, Editor at Large at the Non League Paper Matt Badcock returns to the show

S7 Ep20: 06th January 2023 - FA Cup Third Round, Wrexham & Boreham Wood
As the FA Cup reaches the Third Round, we reach for player opinions. Ben Tozer rarely gives interviews and tries to stay out of the Wrexham spotlight but the defender has an inspiring story and an incredible work ethos we are proud he chose to speak about with us. If that doesn't prove hard work and empathy lead to success, Jamal Fyfield's story will do. Now in his fifth year at Boreham Wood, he's aiming for more FA Cup success and passing on his experience to those around him. Jon Couch is our expert from The Non League Paper as the managerial merry-go-round appears to be in top gear with much more to discuss too in a busy opening week of the year.

S7 Ep19: 30th December 2022 - End of a Year-a, Dartford & Gresley
As the year draws to a close Tim Fuell speaks with Dartford manager Alan Dowson on his first half a season in charge, winning the local, top-of-the-table derby on Boxing Day and what it takes to be a manager. If managing, is hard being a fan can be tough too as Stefan Appleby can testify. His first book is all about a decade or so in the life of being a Gresley Rovers fan... then a Gresley fan ... then a Gresley Rovers fan again... effectively one club, but definitely a wide range of emotions. It's a book that will strike a chord with any non league fan and one to keep you chuckling to yourself into the new year. It's also one that would never have come about with that hoarde of old printed matchday programmes. With another revised earlier publication date this week, Jon Couch helps round up a tough week of news in non league and previews the weekend's isues of The Non League Paper.
50 minutes | Dec 23, 2022
S7 Ep18: 23rd December 2022 - Eastbourne Borough and Trevor Knell
As Christmas races upon us we talk to the November manager of the month in the National South who sees his Eastbourne Borough side in the play-off zone after a difficult start to the season. Hoping to go better than last season's play-off defeat Danny Bloor is realistic that there is much still to be done but he's encouraged by the great spirit within the club. Trevor Knell kept many of us entertained during lockdown with his footballwriting.co.uk site of interviews and blogs. He explains he got into writing not via degree or courses but by getting out and doing stuff and why non league is the perfect playground for the very same. Matt Badcock rounds off the show with his updates on the big news stories and also the revised publication dates for The Non League Paper over the Christmas period.
62 minutes | Dec 16, 2022
S7 Ep18: 16th December 2022 - FA Trophy 3, Bath City & Peterborough Sports
As the FA Trophy reaches the Third Round, non league hope it beats the freeze. Among the games hopefully on this weekend. Bath City hosting current Trophy holders Bromley. Manager at Twerton Park Jerry Gill is pleased to be the underdog for once and looking forward to another chapter of success after the troublesome recent months, following the terrible matchday injury to player Alex Fletcher. He might not be pinching himself but Jimmy Dean manager at Peterborough Sports is proud of every step his club have come since he took over the club in 2015 back in Step 6. Now in the play-off hunt from Step 2, they travel to Premier League founders Oldham Athletic in this week's FA Trophy. Matt Badcock helps with the Non League Paper round-up and it's another full edition of the Non League Football Show.

S7 Ep17: 09th December 2022 - Sholing and Christmas is coming
As December progresses so do a number of clubs lower down the pyramid. Top of Step 4's Southern League DIvision One South Sholing have come a long way in recent years, all under the guidance of Manager Dave Diaper, who has seen over 1100 games in charge as gaffer. With a clutch of long-serving players, a gaggle of much appreciated volunteers and a constructive board, the club are ready to take the next leap on and off the field. There's sadness in the non league headlines this week as Jon Couch reports on the news thus far and what we can expect to read in this weekend's Non League Paper.

S7 Ep16: 02nd December 2022 - FA Vase 2, Anstey Nomads & Whittlesey Athletic

We then return to Anstey Nomads, catching up with joint Chairman and Manager Tony Blanchard after their FA cup spotlight and focus on their FA Vase progression and a glut of games to play. From Step 6 Whittlesey Athletic player boss Ricky Hailstone has steered his side into the Third Round proper of the FA Vase for the second year running. Last year they were comprehensively beaten by future winners Newport Pagnell Town, this year they are taking it all in their stride as just another match of a busy season. S7 Ep15: 25th November 2022 - FA Cup 2 & Boreham Wood
More sound Gremlins as we reach FA Cup Round 2. Phil Annets is on hand - although seemingly abducted by aliens in the sound department - as we discuss the 40 sides and 20 ties in this round of the greatest cup competition in the world. One man who agrees with that definition is Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard. Just one more win and it will be a remarkable three successive Third Rounds in the competition for him and his club, but there's just the small matter of Bristol Rovers in between first. Rounding up the week's news and previewing the weekend's paper is Executive Editor at The Non League Paper Jon Couch, as we provide another hour of the finest non league information around... even if the sound is a bit iffy this week.

S7 Ep14: 18th November 2022 - FA Trophy Round 2 - The Minimal Show
Gremlins got into the desk, making the two guest interviews - and the original open and closers - unlistenable. So up against time for release here's a minimal show with Tim Fuell and Matt Badcock rounding up the week's news and hopefully later on today will follow the very interesting interviews with this week's other guests! Thanks for your patience.

We hit Round 2 of the FA Vase competition. Phil Annets is on hand wearing his @FavaseFactfile hat to give some insight into the big stories set to break with his stats and facts on those taking part this weekend. We also talk to another manager of a United Counties League side, Lewis Thorogood at Pinchbeck United. They diced with relegation last season and he admits they were lucky but they are using that opportunity to spur themselves on and see an FA Vase run as a perfect chance to do so. Rounding it all up is Jon Couch from the Non League paper. The FA Cup grabs the headlines this week with the FA Vase and National League claiming plenty of column inches in this weekend’s paper too.

We talk with Coalville Town boss Adam Stevens on his love for the club, beating Notts County last round and where his club is heading, competing on multi-fronts this season. You can hear the pride already in the voice of Geoff Thompson, Chairman at South Shields as they prepare to host Forest Green Rovers on Saturday. It will be a record crowd enjoying the progress on and off the field made during his seven year involvement but there is much more to come. Matt Badcock is on hand to round up the week's big news and preview this weekend's Non League Paper in a another bumper show and massive showcase weekend for non league.

Then we speak with Tony Blanchard, who manages not only the first team, but the bar and much more besides. Jamie Vermiglio is now manager at Buxton, not having had such a great start to the league season but both he and the club with their own FA Cup glory stories to spur them on to success this weekend on their travels to a Step 3 side.
