In our last ever episode we look forward to what we hope the multi-schools council will become in the future and the impact we feel we are having right now. A massive thank-you to everyone who has contributed to this podcast.

A hot topic and one that our ambassador Lily was really keen to talk about. Lily, who is young with autism, talks all about autism from her perspective. We hear lot's about masking and some of the pressures put on girls. We also talk about what she hopes to achieve and the little things that can make a big difference, also in relation to children's mental health.

We are so lucky to work with some amazing young people and here Elsie tells us why she has got involved in the multi-schools. We hear about how she is moving from a mainstream primary into a special secondary school and what she has been up to over the summer. She also talks about autism and dyslexia in this shorter episode.

Harrison got in touch with a local SEND school as he wanted to challenge perceptions about people's disabilities and has now become a multi-schools ambassador. Harrison tells us about how he is seen, or even not seen by others and the frustration he feels. He also discusses cerebral palsy and his plans for the future! A very inspiring episode.

Over the last year children and music producers have been working hard on a music album designed to break down negative perceptions towards children with special educational needs and mental health difficulties. In this podcast you hear from some of those people on what it meant to them to be involved, the important messages within the music and what they hope the album will achieve. This week we hear from Nurse Charmaine who talks all about her work with children. We hear first hand about the importance of the right medical support and advice, especially for those children with additional needs. We also discuss how the way she works has changed over the last 18-months, the different families she is now able to work with and the importance of working closely with schools.

Charlie wants to raise awareness of autism and one of the things he wanted to discuss was his special interests. Charlie also explains to us the difference he wishes to achieve as an ambassador for us and his ideas for fundraising.

What is the SEND IASS service? We find out more about the service and how it operates in Essex, while also discussing our connections with the service and the work our young people have been doing. We talk about a popular good practice seekers project and how the service hopes to learn from the feedback of young people who may of had troubling experiences at school.

Mason and Harry talk all about their involvement a recent SEND Volunteers project designed to explore some of the main issues affecting children with SEND in and out of school. We also hear about their own experiences of mainstream education and the work they are now doing in addition to this to challenge negative perceptions.

Shivaun Aveston talks to us about our work together in the North East of Essex, making sure that health professionals are listening to young people. We reflect on our resilience programme and the way young people have been given the freedom to design new way's of working. We also discuss the new neurodevelopmental pathway and the plans for the future!

Julia spoke to one of our ambassadors a few months ago and was recommended to us by them. Julia speak about the work she is doing to support families who may have children with additional needs but also the campaign to address some of the challenges within mental health services. Julia talks from the heart in this very honest and personal interview.

Creative briefs are a brilliant CIC helping children to find their creativity. The podcast episode focuses on how some children learn differently and the work being done to pick up on these skills. Josh, who is now an ambassador for this organisations, talks about his own personal journey and the way he now uses this experience!

In this episode we interview Lisa who is the lead for speech, language and communication across Essex. Lisa talks about the current challenges within Essex, the postcode lottery and the work being to address that. We also talk about the importance of raising awareness on this subject and what early intervention can do to support some of these young people.

Jemal talks all about the community interest company working in the North Essex. Dream the change CIC is all about supporting families from ethnic minorities who may have children with SEND or disabilities. Jemal talks about some of the culture barriers, the ways they are trying to break these down and the importance of inclusion.
