Have you ever sat down to think about just what your kids are learning in school And how they are learning it? Oftentimes in school, kids are told what to think, not how to think it. Not all the time. But a lot of the time. The truth is, our educational system isn't really designed to nurture self confidence and trust in oneself. Our educators are the true heroes of our time, no doubt. But is there a better way to educate our children such that both teacher and student can learn from each other in the process? Matt Beaudreau thinks that there is. Matt is the founder of Acton Academy Placer and Acton Academy Sacramento. As a career educator, Matt has delivered TEDx talks, consulted with Universities, written books, and created programs that have helped to push education into the 21st century for teens across America. Beaudreau is also a world-renowned keynote speaker, speaking to over 250,000 people across the globe with clients ranging from Lockheed Martin and the United States Air Force to Caterpillar and Honeywell. Unlocking Infertility, Miscarriages & Healthy Pregnancies With WeNatal: Prenatal Vitamins for Both Men & Women
If you're in your reproductive years, are currently pregnant or trying to get pregnant, or have experienced miscarriages or infertility, today's episode is going to be a ray of light. I'm joined by Ronit Menashe and Vida Delrahim, two mamas who founded a prenatal vitamin company for both men and women. It's called WeNatal, and it was born after both Ronit and Vida experienced miscarriages within a week of each other. Their doctors gave them the usual spiel (your eggs are old, it happens, try again), but Ronit and Vida wanted better answers. They dug into the research and found that men account for 50% of infertility and pregnancy health but no one was talking about it! They set out to create a prenatal vitamin company for men to increase the quality of sperm. But along the way, they realized that women's prenatals needed an overhaul. So they got to work and teamed up with key medical advisors like Dr. Mark Hyman, Chris Kresser and Kelly Leveque to formulate the cleanest, most bioavailable prenatal vitamins as affordably as they could (without compromising on quality) for both men and women. Theirs is a holistic approach to conception that involves both the body and the mind: their prenatals come with a Journal that supports couples through this crucial time frame and guides them on manifesting the family of their dreams. They are truly transforming prenatal health and we are here for it! Follow them in Instagram @We_Natal For more information or to order, visit  Prenatal Vitamins for Him + Her | WeNatal

Exploring The Spiritual Experience of Motherhood with Julie Piatt
Today on the show, we explore the spiritual side of motherhood. When a baby is born, a mother is also born. And when that child is put into the arms of that woman, that woman transforms. Our culture is very heavy on the baby registry, and supporting the needs of the baby, and sleep training and feeding schedules and all of those things. But where is the conversation around the transformation into motherhood? We talk about that today with the amazing Julie Piatt. A mother herself, Julie is a mystic, a bestselling author of 3 plant based cookbooks including This Cheese is Nuts, The Plant Powered Way, and The Plant Powered Way Italia. She is the founder of SriMu, a plant based not-cheese company, and she is married to one of the most prolific podcasters and plant-based endurance athletes of our time, Rich Roll. On the show today you can expect to walk away seeing the sacredness of your motherhood, of getting in touch with your intuition, of deepening the connection with yourself as the powerful woman and shepherd of human life that you are. Bringing Humor to Motherhood & Finding Joy in Hard Times with Caitlin Murray of Big Time Adulting
Life is admittedly heavy right now. If you're anything like me, you feel guilty enjoying your life all the while knowing how many people are suffering right now, particularly in Ukraine (though if you follow the news, you know that the hardships are unfortunately not reserved to just that country right now). Today on the show I'm joined by Caitlin Murray of Big Time Adulting. Caitlin is all about real, raw observations of motherhood, and she does so with a lot of humor. 3 years ago, Caitlin's eldest son, Callum, was diagnosed with cancer when he was just 3 years old. Happily, after 3 years of treatment, he is cancer-free. But in that process, Caitlin learned a lot about what joy means, and how to find it even in moments of great despair. The lessons she took from her experience being a mother to a child with cancer can most certainly be applied to what's happening in the world right now. Tune into this candid and uplifting conversation about finding the light in the dark, as well as some hard-hitting talking points about mom guilt, relationships and other realities of motherhood. Emotion Code: How to Release Trapped Emotions to Get Centered in Health & Motherhood with Gina Kegel
Do you get triggered by your children? Often? Does their whining or their screaming or their tantrums set you off and cause behavior in yourself that you're not always proud of? Do you have any persisting health issues - no matter how big or small - like migraines, bloating, IBS, brain fog, joint pain, skin issues and the like? Issues that no matter what you try, nothing ever really seems to work? Did you know that both your emotions and your health issues could be being triggered by trapped emotions in your body? It may sound a little out there, but it's actually just quantum physics (no big deal). We are all made of atoms and we vibrate at different frequencies. Turns out, emotions also have frequencies, so when they get stuck, they can cause everything from angry outbursts to chronic health issues and everything in between. Thankfully there is something you can do about that, and my guest on the show today, Gina Kegel, explains it all. Gina is an Energy healing transformation coach who uses a technique called Emotion Code to release trapped emotions within the body - emotions you are not even aware are there - to bring your body and its frequencies back into balance so you can heal (and maybe not lose your s$%t the next time one of your kids has a tantrum). Today's show is all about taking care of you, mama. It's time. Tune in and find out how emotion code might be the next step in your health and parenting journey. Are you ready to heal your body, mind and spirit so you can shine and truly enjoy yourself as both a woman and a mother? Today's episode will empower you to do just that. I'm joined by moms and pilates instructors, Sue McCaroll and Caitlin Hatzenbuhler to discuss the role that both nutrition and pilates have played in their own healing and empowerment journey through motherhood. Sue shares her experience developing Bell's Palsy after the birth of her third child, and Caitlin shares her experience with an ovarian cancer diagnosis. They both also share about powerful transformations around food that transformed migraines, anxiety, joint pain and more! Feel empowered in motherhood, mama. Demystifying Infant & Toddler Sleep with Chrissy Lawler of The Peaceful Sleeper
Wouldn't it be nice if we could just wave a magic wand and have our babies sleep through the night? Many sleep training techniques purport to do such a thing (sort of), but in reality, not all sleep training is created equal. And that's because not all babies are created equal! But just because your baby or toddler or even older child doesn't respond to traditional sleep training tactics doesn't mean there is no hope. It just means you need to tailor your approach. Today's guest, Chrissy Lawler, has made it her life's mission to help families get more sleep by doing just that: tailoring the approach to match the unique needs of the child. Chrissy is a Marriage and Family Therapist who founded The Peaceful Sleeper after realizing that the biggest proportion of her clients who were thriving were the ones who were well-rested. A mother of 4 herself and a past insomnia sufferer, Chrissy is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to getting babies and kids of all ages (even us adults!) get good sleep. It's no wonder she's been featured on NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox News, and Better Homes & Gardens, to name a few. https://thepeacefulsleeper.com/ If you've got trouble sleeping - or if you've got children who do, this episode is going to be life changing. Bringing up Toddlers: Tantrums, Whining & Early Childhood Development with Parenting Coach Danielle Bettmann
Did you know that 90% of a child's lifelong neuron connections are formed in the first 6 years of their lives? That effectively means that they are basically downloading their software through the inputs around them from their primary caregivers and peers. And that's important because that software will run on autopilot for the rest of their life. Think about your own belief systems and where they came from. Many of the things you believe aren't actually your unique beliefs. They were imprinted upon you by your primary caregivers - unless you worked really hard to undo them in your adult life. Today on the show, I'm joined by early childhood education expert and positive discipline certified parenting educator, Danielle Bettmann, to talk about how to parent in order to build healthy relationships with our children such that we build positive neural connections. We talk about whining and tantrums and how to deal with them, bribes and threats and why they don't work, the inner workings of positive discipline and how to use the techniques in practice, emotional regulation for both parent and child, and more. Danielle's focus is on children up to age 6, but parents of children of any age will benefit from the strategies being shared here today. A Parent's Guide to Raising LGBTQ Children and Allies with Chris Tompkins
Do you talk about gender and sexuality with your children? Do they know what it means to be LGBTQ? Do you ever wonder at what age it is most appropriate to have these conversations with your children? As parents, we have a lot on our plate. Navigating conversations like these ones may not be at the top of our list. But almost 6% of adults in the US identify as LGBTQ - and 5-10% of LGBTQ youth attempt suicide each year (roughly 1.5-3 times more than heterosexual youth). It's clear that we have some work to do. Because as my guest on the show today, Chris Tompkins says, the messages about this subject begin on the playground. And while you may not have a child who is LGBTQ, your child will almost certainly interact with someone who is, and we need to begin to change the societal beliefs around the subject. On today's show, we talk about two very important concepts: Heteronormativity, which is the concept of being assumed straight at birth, and Benign Neglect. Both of these societal standards are leading our LGBTQ youth and later, adults, to feel shame, and to live a life where they do not feel accepted for who they are. And that is unacceptable. Chris discusses his book,https://www.amazon.com/Raising-LGBTQ-Allies-Changing-Playground/dp/1538136260/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1N3JHDNCT1SPD&dchild=1&keywords=raising+lgbtq+children&qid=1633397157&sprefix=how+to+raise+kids+who+aren%27%2Caps%2C481&sr=8-5 We discuss at what age to talk to children about the LGBTQ community, why it's important that we must, among other things. This episode is a must for every parent.
