#077 – Ronnie Brown, Host of Forgotten
I’m extremely excited to introduce you to a podcast that I’ve come to love. This week, I interview Pastor Ronnie Brown, the producer of the new podcast FORGOTTEN. Each episode recounts the acts of God’s supernatural hand in the events of man or the testimony of extraordinary sacrifice of devoted followers of Jesus Christ. The effort of this broadcast is to strengthen our faith in God and resolve our hearts to trust Him no matter what. The reason for telling these stories is that we may not forget. Let us not be accused of forgetting our God: “…yet my people have forgotten me…” Jeremiah 2:32 Each episode is written and produced by Ronnie Brown. Thanks for listening to this week’s episode! #073 – Worship Wars with Dr. Robert Bakss
Thanks for listening to this week’s episode! This week on the podcast, I share a discussion that I had with Dr. Robert Bakss about his book Worship Wars. Here is a description of the book from their website: Many grapple today with what the proper style of music for church should be, and sadly it becomes a worship war. Like the movie Star Wars, the battles rage from episode to episode, with Bible verses being used as the proverbial light sabres to attack and defend each other. This book answers the questions amongst Christians and churches today in regard to worship music and appropriate styles and genres. It provides clear, concise guidelines, Biblical principles and practical suggestions to adopting a modern, relevant and blended approach to worship music. It is a biblical guide to worship music spanning early church history to the present day, providing research to support the implementation of a balanced blend of traditional and contemporary worship music in churches. I hope that this episode is helpful to you! Listen: Subscribe in iTunes • Subscribe via Google Play • Subscribe via RSS • Subscribe in Stitcher  About this week’s guest: Dr. Robert Bakss After completing a law degree and pursuing a career in law, God called Robert Bakss to the ministry in 1988. Pastor Bakss, who accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour in 1979, often states God called him from “man’s law to God’s law”! He is currently the senior pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia and has been there since 1997. Over the past few years the Lord has established his ministry and blessed the church in a wonderful way for the glory of God. His influence throughout churches in Australia, the South Pacific and parts of Asia has increased as he has helped many pastors and missionaries through his preaching, teaching and the annual Pastors Refresher School. His vision of training preachers, missionaries and Christian workers for the 21st century was realized with the founding of Australian Baptist College in 2007. #071 – Advice for Hiring and Leading Staff with Jeremy Rands
Thanks for listening to this week’s episode! Listen: Subscribe in iTunes • Subscribe via Google Play • Subscribe via RSS • Subscribe in Stitcher  About this week’s guest:  Jeremy Rands Twitter: @JeremyRands Pastor Jeremy Rands was born in Port Huron, Michigan.  June 1982 was a turning point in Pastor Rands’ life.  As a six-year-old boy, he asked Christ to be his personal Savior. At sixteen, he began to sense the call on his life to be in full-time ministry.  He surrendered to that call at teen camp that summer. After high school graduation, Pastor Rands went to Bible college to train for the ministry.  He received a Bachelor of Theology degree and a Master’s of Theology as well. In 1999 Pastor Jeremy Rands married Michelle.  The Lord has blessed them with five wonderful children:  Jacob, Kayleigh, Mackenzie, Lily, and Khloe. The Lord allowed the Rands family to serve in the youth ministry at an active, growing church in Philadelphia, PA. In 2003 they moved to Milford, Ohio, to work on staff at a large, influential church in the Midwest.  There he received valuable experience that God would use in his life to prepare him to pastor.  Pastor Rands served as the administrative pastor there approximately ten years. Sensing the call to become a senior pastor, Jeremy Rands was led by God to Columbus, Georgia, where he accepted the call to become a senior pastor.  He served there from February 2013 to September 2015. After much prayer and the leading of the Lord, Jeremy Rands accepted the position of senior pastor of Monclova Road Baptist Church.  September 20, 2015, was his first Sunday as pastor.
