We live in a culture that rewards productivity. We push ourselves to produce results at our jobs, at the gym, with our income, our weight, we read and podcast topics on self-improvement. We use our bodies and our time to the point of exhaustion. So, where does rest fit into productivity? Resting allows our desires and intentions to manifest, without the effort and control. At rest, we allow our bodies to restore and to heal, our natural breathing and sleep cycles to return, and we accept ourselves without needing to 'improve'. Rest is its own reward.
