Making Of A Rock Star
EPISODE TEN - PAT BUZZARD Show TEN- double-digits!! Each show has been a learning experience and a total blast for me and my producer, Michael Barber. I am my own worst critic, but may I say, 'this is our best show to date?!' I feel like we are getting the hang of this, and I hope you enjoy listening. I couldn't wait to ask Columbus musician, Pat Buzzard to tell me about co-writing and recording "Girl Next Door," with his former band, Saving Jane. Pat shares the thrilling story of having a hit record...the band's first tour bus...the journey from cramming 5 musicians into a small practice room, to rocking out onstage before 25,000! Don't miss my all-time favorite moment in our 10-show history; involving Pat Buzzard, the Regis & Kelly Show, a cigarrette, and HALLE BERRY! Pat shares this hilarious story at the end of our chat. I thought it would be fun to make Columbus Artists the theme for Mark Dantzer's Block Party. I was correct! In fact, I learned there is an abundance of incredible recorded music from Columbus bands and individuals. We will revisit this theme on future shows. See what you think of the 5 songs I selected (with the help of my Facebook friends), and let me know who I missed!

Dispatch's Music Man Takes Center Stage
The daily battle is on: Do I totally go for it as a self-employed DJ/Writer/Entertainer, or look for a j-o-b? Makes me crazy!!! I’m still trying to figure it out and my frustration is evident in the “Dear Diary” opening segment of Mark Dantzer Show #3. More than ever, I am thankful and grateful for MUSIC! Music motivates, inspires and soothes. On today’s podcast, I hang out with Columbus Dispatch music/features writer, Kevin Joy. Kevin has one of the coolest jobs on the planet: CONCERT REVIEWER!! Listen as Kevin tells us about standing a few steps from Slash during the iconic intro to “Sweet Child O’ Mine” before 20,000 people at Crew Stadium! I put our music-journalist guest on the spot and ask him to pick the best Columbus concerts of 2013…and the show he is most looking forward to later this year. We wrap up with a trip in the Mark Dantzer Block Party “time machine” to November, '93 and play the 5 Best Songs on this date 20 years ago. I am amazed by the response to this podcast. Thank you.
