The MAP: Episode 2 - Gareth Bryant
In this episode, I'm joined by Gareth Bryant, a Muslim chaplain and native New Yorker from Brooklyn. Gareth and I discuss a variety of issues, and he describes the Muslim community in NYC for me and its beautiful population mosaic, then we talk about the changes in the Muslim community that he witnessed post-9/11, and then we give some opinons on US presidential politics from a Muslim American perspective. Gareth has a popular blog https://garethbryant.wordpress.com that was nominated multiple times for the Brass Crescent award. He's been featured in Muslim Quarterly Magazine, been nominated as one of the 40 most influential Muslims Under 40, sponsored by Modest Beautiful Magazine, he's a published poet and a guest lecturer at NYU. A revert Muslim of 20 years, he's written for numerous Muslim publications and magazines and been a panel speaker at the annual ICNA national Muslim convention. He's a member of the group Muslims Giving Back and has led numerous charity projects in NYC.
