Reformation Midday Prayer
Welcome to the Liturgy of the Hours, by Luther Seminary Chapel, prayer for wherever you may be.  Change is in the air. Leaves like nature’s confetti fall to the ground, vibrant and fleeting. It is a season of the church that marks changes, re-formations, the reformation, ever passing through truth to freedom, ever expanding our sense of love for the neighbor, ever pointing to the crucified Lord who ushers us from death to life.  To mark this time, we offer prayer for the midday, let by Musician in Residence Andy Pokel and the Rev. Elise Pokel. May the one who gives you peace, Christ Jesus our Lord, abide with you this day.

Matins for the Time After Pentecost
The Liturgy of the Hours by Luther Seminary, a prayer podcast for wherever you may be.  Prayer. Our reaching out to God and God’s reaching in to us. A connection. A hope. We are not alone in this universe. God in Jesus has come in flesh. God in Spirit comes as breath.  Luther Seminary Musician in Residence Andy Pokel, along with Rev Elise Pokel, wonders who is this God, grand and glorious, the one who creates the stars and yet cares for us. What does that mean? And what does a faithful life look like? We are distracted, tired, and pushed to our limits. Even so, God is there. God is here. God is calling us into God’s life.

Matins in Ordinary Time, Lectionary 11B
The Liturgy of the Hours, by Luther Seminary Chapel. It is Ordinary Time. We dig into the story of the church, our story. It’s not always pretty--or easy. But we never do it alone. This stretch of Ordinary Time finds us in the month marked for Pride. God is love and God’s love is inclusive. Often the church has put barriers to God’s love. And so pride is marked with repentance and celebration as we affirm life and human connection. Zach Busch and Alé Suarez lead Matins, prayer for the morning time.
