Erin (Living With Type 1 Diabetes)
Diabetes. What is, how does it work, who does it effect? Well, in this episode I definitely learned what it means to live with it and how it’s much deeper than just bad diet and needles. My friend Erin sits down with me today and we discuss what it meant for her to be in a military service academy seemingly healthy and “normal” and be diagnosed with Diabetes at age 19. I have to say I have a new found respect for folks born with this autoimmune disease and what it takes for them to maintain their health. This platform is for the people and it’s a honor to have folks share their life journey in hopes to bring knowledge and healthy debates to a larger stage. Stay Dangerous, The Knight Show

We ran the gauntlet on this one. Most of my friends did not grow up with both of their parents. Some due to divorce, or a parent passing away suddenly, their parents not seeing eye to eye from the beginning, or some other circumstance. That has certainly shaped us in ways that differ from what some may consider ideal or the "norm". However, it has also given us pause to look at our own relationships and take caution in finding life partners or throttle us to be fixers when we should have been looking for companionship. This conversation certainly went through many levels of life experiences and I think everyone can relate to a bit of one of our stories. My brothers Tru Heru, Jeremy, and Larry share their stories of life, love, and pain. Join us.

This one has been a few years in the making. My good friend Andre Cooper and I grew up on the same street and had very similar starts in life. He and I grew up with single mothers, participated in NJROTC throughout high school, and would eventually both join the military. We both faced challenges from tours in Afghanistan, tours conducting counter drug ,and natural disaster operations etc. Throughout it all the same thing remains the most important from duty, country, and first and foremost family.
