Preston of the Yukon: A Call from the Storm conclusionRadio drama will be heard on The Joe Bev Experience this week, podcast at http://www.waterlogg.com and airing on public radio stations including Wisconsin Public Radio and Pawling Public Radio. Joe Bev, who's full name is Joe Bevilacqua, produced, directed, provided all the voices and sound effects for his audio dramatization of J.C. Del La Torre's epic SCI-FI adventure novel Ancient Rising. Bevilacqua also plays all the characters in the conclusion of Sgt. Preston  of the Yukon: "A Call from the Storm" written by Jim Nixon. Plus, Streets of Staccato creators Victor Gates, W. Ralph Walters and Elie Hirschman go behind the scenes of their radio cop comedy. The weekly radio hour is an anthology series representing the depth and breath of Bev's 40-plus year career in audio storytelling, from documentary to radio drama.Challenge of the Yukon was a radio series that began on Detroit's station WXYZ (as had The Lone Ranger and The Green Hornet), and an example of a Northern genre story. The series was first heard on February 3, 1938. The title changed from Challenge of the Yukon to Sergeant Preston of the Yukon in November 1951, and remained under that name through the end of the series and into television. The program was an adventure series about Sergeant William Preston of the North-West Mounted Police and his lead sled dog, Yukon King, as they fought evildoers in the Northern wilderness during the Gold Rush of the 1890s.What the Critics Say:"The enthusiasm of the writers and their respect for the period is infectious." Louis Armstrong's New Orleans, with Wynton Marsalis: A Joe Bev Musical Sound Portrait
Louis Armstrong's New Orleans, with Wynton Marsalis: A Joe Bev Musical Sound Portrait is produced and narrated by Joe Bevilacqua, with Wynton Marsalis, Donald Newlove, Leonard Lopate, Edward R. Murrow, and Louis Armstrong.Veteran radio producer Joe Bevilacqua hosts this entertaining, informative hour, recorded in the French Quarter of New Orleans and featuring jazz great Wynton Marsalis, jazz author and historian Donald Newlove, WNYC Radio talk show host Leonard Lopate, members of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and others, on the origins of jazz, and the life and music of legendary trumpeter Louis Armstrong. Also featured is the music of Armstrong throughout his long career, and rare recordings, including audio from a 1957 CBS TV documentary with Edward R. Murrow. What the Critics Say"Informational, polished, sound-rich, Joe Bevilacqua strikes again with this superb documentary on the life and music of Louis Armstrong. The rich tapestry of music, interviews, and sound from the streets of New Orleans is expertly produced. In addition to some rare recordings, the program includes interviews with Wynton Marsalis and others that really add to what is primarily a music program, rather than detract from the focus of the program. The sound quality is excellent, and the vintage recordings have been cleaned up well. The program is both entertaining and informative, and held my interest for the entire hour. I highly recommend it." (Phil Corriveau, Wisconsin Public Radio) Carnival Podcasthttps://itunes.apple.com/us/po

Joe Bev Travels (Further) Through Time & Space
David Ossman, Fred Frees, Willoughby and the Professor and Great Northern Audio take listeners on a one hour radio theater ride as Joe Bev Travels (Further) Through Time & SpaceAbout this week's show, it was posted on Facebook by Brian K. Price of Great Northern Audio (http://www.greatnorthernaudio.com/): "Joe Bev will be playing Great Northern's "Peter Galaxy: Interstellar Envoy". One of the cool things about this spoof on old time radio adventure serials is that we were able to pair David Ossman of the Firesign Theatre with Michael Sheard, probably best known for playing the "you have failed me for the last time" Admiral Ozzel in Star Wars as well as working in a ton of Doctor Whos. Originally trained in Shakespeare, Michael said he hadn't performed on stage in 20 years and had a wonderful time. You can hear it in his voice. Also, starring Tick Wick, Windy Bowlsby, Irene Ruderman Clark, and Preston Ossman.""Can two retired, old-time radio actors find work for 300 billion illegal aliens? Michael Sheard (Star Wars, Dr. Who) and David Ossman (Firesign Theatre) join forces to show just how much fun answering that question can be."In addition, "Napoleon Brandy," part 2, will be read by Fred Frees, one of the six stories from his audiobook "Dracula Meets Jack The Ripper" (written by Michael B. Druxman), available at Amazon (LINK:http://www.amazon.com/Dracula-Meets-Ripper-Revisionist-Histories/dp/B00B3QMAK8/ref=sr_1_8?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1430334775&sr=1-8).Also, on the hour will be part 1 of The Whithering of Willoughby and the Professor, Episode 14: ''I Do Not Like the Blackness of Her Nose'' or ''The Penguins Laugh at You!” written by Joe Bevilacqua and Robert J. Cirasa, produced, directed and voiced by Bevilacqua.Brian K. Price also wrote: "Joseph Bevilacqua's website (
