60. Nat & Alex a MUST listen on getting motivated for Fall, setting new goals, and holding ourselves accountable!
Ok, SO, we all know Covid has sent us all kinds of unearthly changes and challenges we did not ask for! RUDE. Despite getting bogged down, shifted, pivoting, and sent for a loop the last couple of months, today we sat down to give you guys a kick in the ass...as much as we did to ourselves. Fall is coming (uncanny similarities to "Winter is coming" in Game of Thrones)...so we have to get prepared now to avoid the seasonal blues, to set the goals, get motivated, and write down the things we want to accomplish. Let's take this opportunity to thrive, instead of being in a funk... because God knows it's going to take some planning! We hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it :)

55. Recovering Addict, Author and Public Speaker Timothy McMahan King – The opioid crisis, the path to recovery, and Timothy’s story of going from rock bottom to healing and leading.
Happy Monday! Today, we start off by addressing some missed thoughts regarding last week's episode we just couldn't stop thinking about! Then, we jump in to our interview with Author and Public Speaker, Timothy McMahan King, who tragically became addicted to opioids after being diagnosed with Pancreatitis. Having been told from Doctors they didn't know if he would make it out of his complicated disease, several infections and blood clots later, Tim has now made it his life mission to tell his story, helping others understand the psychology and real-life circumstances that helped him get out of a very serious addiction. Being so close to home (Nat's lost her brother to a prescription drug overdose), we generally feel like this is a MUST listen, lending us the compassion and eye-opening life story of someone dealing with an addiction. If you, or someone you know is dealing with an addition, here are some resources we found useful:https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/substance-use/get-help/get-help-problematic-substance-use.htmlhttp://drughelpline.org/https://drugabuse.com/addiction/drug-abuse-hotlines/

54. Nat & Alex – The Sasha Exeter & Jessica Mulroney Story
Alright - the past few weeks have been intense, but in what we believe to be also productive! One of our local Black influencer, Sasha Exeter, publicly announced on her IGTV that Jessica Mulroney had attempted to silence her for speaking out against Black Lives Matter and encouraging her involvement. What spiralled into a nation-wide story, Sasha has been praised for her bravery in speaking out against such a powerful voice in the media space like Jessica while Jessica has been cut from popular network CTV and other partners. We share our thoughts and also talk about our own controversy that happened where 4 local influencers were publicly called out using inaccurate claims and false accusations. This is a must listen!
