This is it. Another season to improve in this game of baseball. It only happens if you put the work in, do the reps and do one more thing... GRIND!

Young kids get discouraged easily. Keep them engaged and positive and build up their confidence. That will bring individual wins as much as team wins.

Repetition In youth baseball is key to improving a player.

Episode 13: Its Worth the Wait. Patience is key in baseball. Don’t share negative body language when a team is in a rut or can’t win. Instead... lead and have patience as your team builds its legacy.

Having patience in yourself and in your teammates is the hardest thing to do when you’re struggling. But you need to have it in this game of failure. Hey Parents... you’re the worst offenders. Calm down! Let the kids play!

Every kid develops differently in this game. “Stud” talk early on is ridiculous. Ignore it and play your game t your pace. Your development is valuable to your baseball future when it counts later on. These games right now at 8, 9 and 10 mean nothing. The only thing that matters now is that you’re learning and loving the game. You will get there through patience.

Communication and motivation is key. Surround yourself with coaches who have the same mindset as you and make the practice drills interesting, fast paced and fun. It’s a game after all!

I use my time with my young players to build them up and get individual wins first. Over time, team wins will flourish. Nothing in baseball is automatic. It takes time.

Tryouts, New teams and Showcases are all part of the Spring. If you feel like you want to be part of a prestigious team or think you may have what it takes but are nervous about the upcoming tryout, stand tall, trust yourself and go for it!

If you are passionate about this game, DO NOT give up. Even when it gets hard.

There’s Rec baseball, Travel baseball and Club baseball. Travel is not the best of the best ever. It’s not elite. It’s merely more competitive than Rec and just the best kids in your community. If you venture outside the bubble, it will make better sense to you. .

Teen years of baseball is about the players responsibility and graduating from Daddy Baseball. Learn to take responsibility for your own actions. Parents need to step back.

Cherish the little moments in the game and learn to build confidence in yourself . Success is in reach, but understanding the game is hard and overcoming that failure is the right mindset. Keep grinding.

Episode 3: what to expect in Rec Baseball. There are 3 tiers in baseball. Rec, Travel and Club. Rec baseball is perfect for low level development and social excitement with you child and their friends.

Opportunity is the most important part of this game for young players. Participation Trophies don’t teach kids a thing.

This is a new thing for me but with all the questions and concerns about Young players, coaches and playing time, I felt it necessary to try explain much of it in this podcast. We will break down different topics that come up in Youth Baseball and hopefully it will all make sense for you as a parent moving forward. This is our introduction episode. Enjoy.
