"Unapologetically Black" with Mateen Stewart
In this episode with Mateen Stewart, we get into whole lot of history, including growing up in Detroit, "white flight" and more. "Jessica, NO" with Andre Stewart & Coco Lee
In this episode with Coco Lee and Andre Stewart, we get into a wide range of topics--Trump, Karens, Kanye for President (these all seem to come up a lot), not "talking black" enough, whether or not can I wear a hat that says "TWERK" or I should throw it in the trash, and more--in which I say cringey white girl shit several times and have to be told..."Jessica, NO." (Insert face palm). Glad to be here making these mistakes in real time so all of y'all can learn from it--you're welcome. #BlackLivesMatter  Guests: Andre Stewart, Filmmaker/Writer etc. | IG: @andredoesntknow | YouTube: Andre Doesn't KnowCoco Lee, Comedian | IG: @tncocolee Watch on YouTubeReview the Pod  Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights

"Code Switching, Religion & Kanye" with Chaz Carter & Jazmyn W
In this episode with Jazmyn W and Chaz Carter, we discuss code switching to blend into white culture, the importance of white people educating themselves, white privilege and how it has nothing to do with being rich/having an easy life, Kanye's short-lived claim to run for president (at the time of recording he hadn't dropped out yet), Religion and all the issues that can come with it, and of course MUCH MORE. Listen to it, share it, check out Jazmyn and Chaz's work, share that too, and then if you have enough energy left after that, maybe do me a solid and rate and review the podcast. #BlackLivesMatter Guests: Chaz Carter, Comedian | Instagram: @pollypocketnegro Jazmyn W, Comedian | Instagram: @jazmynjw | Podcast: Colored Couch ConversationsWatch on YouTubeReview the Pod Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights

In this episode with Chelsé Greaux & Shapel Lacey, we discuss lack of education, white allies, Black History Month (copy and pasting the same info into the shortest month of the year is not enough to do it justice, btw), the firework phenomenon, boycotting, and more. #BlackLivesMatter Guests: Chelsé Greaux, Comedian | Instagram: @chelsegcomedy | Comedy Album: Yes I Cane Shapel Lacey, Comedian | Instagram: @shapellacey | Podcast: It's ManagedWatch on YouTubeReview the Pod Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights

"Puppets, Bandaids & Copaganda" with Kazeem Rahman & Niles Abston
The Hard Way Pod is BACK in ACTION, cuz white silence is violence. The next series of episodes will focus on black creators and discuss one of the biggest lessons we're learning about the hard way right now and that is: systemic racism. We've got lots of work to do so we've got a lot to talk about and learn, so just sit back and listen cuz I can't possibly write a full description for all these. Some things we touch on: Black conservative pundits (Stacey Dash, Candace Owens, etc.), intersectionality, false symbols of change, black wall street, and copaganda. #BlackLivesMatterGuests: Niles Abston, Writer/Stand Up Comedian | Comedy Album: Girls Don't Twerk to Jokes | Instagram: @thenilesabstonshow | Venmo: @NilesAbstonKazeem Rahman, Stand Up Comedian/Podcaster | Podcast: Tough Choice | Instagram: @kazeemcomedy | Venmo: @Kazeem-RahmanWatch on YouTubeReview the Pod Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights

"Air Out Your Spiritual Farts" with Dave Neal
In this episode I chat with (recently engaged!) comic/podcaster Dave Neal from the SAP podcast about all those hard way lessons you learn in relationships but even more so once you think you've learned them, having to adapt to the new standard of quarantine. Will you get murdered over this toothpaste lid not being put back on? WHO KNOWS. Everyone's got a lot of baggage and triggers that you need to work through with your significant other, and sometimes that age old adage of "don't go to bed angry" doesn't really work out. Sometimes you need to get that space, air out your reactions, emotions and knee-jerk tendencies...or, as Dave put its: "spiritual farts."Guest: Dave Neal, Comedian/Podcaster | Instagram: @dnealz | Sex Actually Podcast (the SAP)Listen on YouTubeReview the Pod Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights

"Don't compare yourself to other people"
Honestly, I'm exhausted in this quarantine bullshit hell hole and sick of scheduling so I kinda felt like, ya know what? It may be time for a one-on-one baby! In this episode, there's no guest. But you and me will get into the topic of not comparing yourself to other people. We all do it, I've done it a bunch, but this story particularly stuck out to me because I heard about something shitty happening to someone I assumed was so perfect they shit actual diamonds and nothing bad could ever happen to, and I was very wrong. We are all humans and we all go through shit, which is kinda nice. Also, when everything goes away and you need an outlet, sometimes it's cool to try something new and if it works out, that's great. I wrote and composed my first song ever, and as a bonus I'm sharing it at the end of the pod. It's called "Strange" (music & lyrics by me, mastered by Travis Pavur) -- I hope you like it.Listen on YouTubeReview the Pod Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights

"Don't Put All Your Eggs in One Basket" with Niles Abston
In this episode with Niles Abston, we talk about how putting all your energy into one thing can backfire when it all goes away (enter: QUARANTINE). As stand up comedians and people who rely on live performance to complete fulfilling creative projects, what do you do when that is no longer an option? Ya gotta adapt.Guest: Niles Abston, Writer/Stand Up Comedian | Instagram: @thenilesabstonshow | YouTubeListen on YouTubeReview the Pod Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights

In this episode with comedian Liz Glazer, we take it a WEE BIT too far. "Fool Me Once" with Lexie Grace
In this episode with comedian Lexie Grace, we figure out that sometimes people aren't who they claim to be and/or have ulterior motives when trying to befriend you. There are probably plenty of hints dropped when this starts happening, so basically, when someone shows you who they are, you should believe them. Guest: Lexie Grace, Stand Up Comedian | Instagram: @smilelexie | YouTube Listen on YouTubeReview the Pod Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights

"Don't take it for granted" with Steve Martinez
What is this some sort of BONUS episode?? You're damn right it is! In this episode we quarantine-pod with Jess's old friend of 20+ years about not taking things for granted, a sentiment which is becoming more apparent in the era of COVID-19. All of our routines are thrown off right now and absolutely nothing is normal, which makes it a perfect time for an out-of-the-ordinary bonus episode. Guest: Steve MartinezYouTubeReview the Pod Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights

"Don't say it's okay when it's not" with Shanna Benson
We're still in quarantine mode but that doesn't mean we can't discuss our many life lessons! In this episode, I sit down with Shanna Benson to discuss one of the most painful and terribly real stories I've heard to date when it comes to marriage and relationships. When you're in a relationship or marriage, there are highs and lows and compromise is a necessity, but sometimes people are just THE WORST and you have to trust your instincts and say to yourself: you know what? This is just NOT okay. Put on a helmet because this is a lot and frankly I am traumatized. But thankfully at the end of the day, she came out on top, and we can all learn a thing (or 10) from Shanna and how she handles a shit situation.Guest: Shanna Benson, Event Producer/Baker Listen on YouTubeReview the Pod Send your hard way submissions to: thehardwaypod@gmail.com Intro Music by: The Alright Alrights
