Will the Bucks re-sign Pat Connaughton and Bobby Portis? Plus dancing on the grave of take fouls | Gyro Step
Will the Bucks re-sign both Pat Connaughton and Bobby Portis? The NBA Playoffs are still ongoing, but the Bucks are officially in offseason mode. Milwaukee’s biggest offseason priorities right now are players already on the roster, especially Pat and Bobby, so Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti previewed those two plus the rest of the Bucks heading into free agency, including Wes Matthews, Jevon Carter, and of course Thanasis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks run ends in Boston as Milwaukee falls apart in Game 7
The Milwaukee Bucks fought hard for six and a half games against the Boston Celtics without Khris Middleton, but ultimately ran out of gas (and made shots) entirely in the second half of Game 7 as the Celtics trounced them 109-81 and ended Milwaukee's playoff run. Ti Windisch, Rohan Katti, and Adam McGee analyzed what went wrong in Game 7, where fault lies for the series loss after holding a 3-2 lead, the performance of Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer, and then went through the roster and decided who they'd like brought back for the next Bucks run. Milwaukee squanders a Giannis masterclass, faces Game 7 in Boston
Giannis Antetokounmpo gave everything he had and continues to thrive against a tough Boston Celtics defense, but the rest of the Milwaukee Bucks couldn't collectively do enough to get the win at home in Game 6. Ti Windisch, Rohan Katti, and Adam McGee sat down after the disaster ended to discuss what went wrong, why Grayson Allen and George Hill simply can't play as much as they did, who else on the roster needs to step up now, why this was a terrible Mike Budenholzer game, and keys to winning what will be a tough Game 7 in Boston. Bucks rope-a-dope the Celtics in Boston to take a 3-2 lead
Despite trailing as much as 14 in the fourth quarter in Boston, where the Celtics had previously never lost after bringing a 9+ point lead into the frame, the Milwaukee Bucks found a way to steal a second game on the road and take a 3-2 series lead before Game 6 in Milwaukee. Jrue Holiday's two WOW plays in the last 10 seconds sealed the deal, but Giannis Antetokounmpo and company had an all-around excellent fourth quarter before Jrue locked it down. Ti Windisch, Rohan Katti, and Adam McGee recapped the thrilling action after the fact, focusing on how Milwaukee managed the extraordinary comeback, the gutsy performances from certain role players, and tweaks that can still be made. Bucks blow another late lead, Boston steals homecourt and Game 4
For the second time in the Milwaukee Bucks first two home games in their semifinals series against the Boston Celtics, the Bucks folded in the fourth quarter after building a solid lead earlier in the second half. Unfortunately they really lost the plot in Game 4 and fell to Boston 116-108 after holding onto a wild win the previous game. Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to wear down Celtics defenders and find his scoring burst, but Giannis himself was worn down by the end of the night and didn't get enough help from Jrue Holiday, plus a few role players who need to be more consistent offensively. Ti Windisch of the Gyro Step and Adam McGee of Win in 6 sat down after the game to evaluate what went wrong and look ahead to a pivotal Game 5 in Boston. Giannis dominates as Milwaukee takes 2-1 lead over Boston
The Milwaukee Bucks returned home and won an extremely close Game 3 against the Celtics, 103-101. Giannis Antetokounmpo posted his highest-scoring game of the series, while Wesley Matthews showed his defensive prowess and locked down Jayson Tatum. This was a physical contest the entire way, as neither team or fanbase is walking away from this one thinking they got a fair whistle. Ultimately, the Bucks won, and Rohan Katti, Ti Windisch, and Adam McGee discussed how Milwaukee pulled it off, what the starting lineup change meant, and much more. Fixing Milwaukee's offense, the importance of three-pointers, and more mailbag mayhem
With three days off between Games 2 and 3, the hosts of the Gyro Step and Win in 6 podcast opened up the mailbag to address questions from listeners in the GSPN Discord and on Twitter. Topics included obvious ones given the Bucks' 1-1 series with the Boston Celtics, including how Milwaukee can add seasoning offensively and the importance of threes for both teams, and the inane, such as Bango's chances against Lucky the Leprechaun and how much value Rohan Katti would provide to the Celtics or Bucks rotation. Come for the strategy talk, stay for Ti Windisch and Jordan Treske toasting Rohan on air. The Bucks implode in Boston but still return home with homecourt
The Milwaukee Bucks played one of their worst halves in recent memory and ultimately lost Game 2 to the Boston Celtics, 109-86. The game itself was mostly brutal, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday shooting Milwaukee out of the game in the first half and the Celtics, especially Jaylen Brown and Grant Williams, on absolute fire throughout the game. Still, Milwaukee hung around with a slim chance to win for most of the second half, and Ti Windisch, Rohan Katti, and Adam McGee were able to pick out plenty of positives despite the Bucks crashing and burning in Boston. Bucks in 6 is very much alive with the series now tied 1-1. Drafting the most important Bucks and Celtics for Game 2 feat justinsuperbuck
X-factors on either team could make the difference in Game 2 of the Milwaukee Bucks series against the Boston Celtics, so the Gyro Step Podcast Network warmly welcomed justinsuperbuck in for a draft of the most important players -- and entities -- on both sides of the match-up. From Giannis Antetokounmpo to Payton Pritchard, there were some obvious and some interesting picks to say the least. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti of the Gyro Step and Adam McGee of the Win in 6 podcast were the other drafters, and between the banter the group managed to also analyze where the series is at after the Bucks took a convincing 1-0 lead in Boston. Bucks shut down Celtics in Boston to secure homecourt and a 1-0 lead
Despite entering the series as underdogs the Milwaukee Bucks overwhelmed the Boston Celtics with size and physicality on their way to a 1-0 series lead on Sunday. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti of the Gyro Step and Adam McGee of the Win in 6 podcast sat down after the enjoyable 101-89 win to discuss why the consensus was so low on Milwaukee going in, Giannis Antetokounmpo shining despite not shooting as well as usual from the field, the Bucks role players stepping up in big ways, and how difficult of a spot the Celtics now find themselves in. Milwaukee gentleman sweeps the Bulls and we look ahead to Boston in the next round
The Milwaukee Bucks handled their business for the third straight game to end their first round series with the Chicago Bulls with a 5-game victory, and honestly the game itself was business-esque in that there wasn't too much excitement or drama. Thus, Ti Windisch, Rohan Katti, and Adam McGee chatted about it and the series before moving onto the real topic at hand: the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee's next opponent this postseason. The three GSPN hosts covered specific matchups in the series, which Bucks will be most important besides Giannis Antetokounmpo, and how they feel overall heading into Boston for what will be a much tougher series than Chicago was able to offer. Bucks dominate Bulls in back-to-back games in Chicago to take a 3-1 lead | Gyro Step
The Milwaukee Bucks are fully in control of their first round series with the Chicago Bulls after trouncing them in the United Center in Games 3 and 4. Grayson Allen continues to haunt Chicago, but this time Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday got in on the fun offensively as well. The Bulls tried to make a few runs in the second half, but Giannis and company were ready to extend Milwaukee's lead whenever it seemed like the game was seriously about to tilt. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti of the Gyro Step laughed at Chicago and recapped what's been going right for Milwaukee in these much-needed huge wins after the sadness that came with Game 2. Bobby Portis and Grayson Allen light up the Bulls in a huge Game 3 win
The Milwaukee Bucks desperately needed to get back on track heading into Chicago for Game 3 against the Bulls, and they did just that by thrashing Chicago in a blowout victory. Bobby Portis (once again a Bucks starter!) and Grayson Allen stepped up big time to fill the scoring void left by Khris Middleton's absence, and the team as a unit defended at an incredibly high level, holding the Bulls to under 60 points through the first three quarters. Ti Windisch of the Gyro Step and Adam McGee and Jordan Treske of Win in 6 sat down after the action to recap the fun and look ahead to the rest of the series. Bucks lose Game 2 to the Bulls and lose Khris Middleton to an MCL sprain
There was enough reason to be pessimistic about the Milwaukee Bucks even before losing Khris Middleton to an injury, as they couldn't string together consistent high-level basketball yet again, but injury was literally added to insult as Middleton left the game with what was revealed to be an MCL sprain after Milwaukee's 114-110 loss to Chicago in Fiserv Forum on Wednesday night. The entire GSPN crew got together after the game to discuss what went wrong (again), how to bounce back without Khris for at least the next few games, and how dire this postseason really is for Milwaukee now with Khris, Bobby Portis, and George Hill all dealing with injuries. The vibes were not great. Please get well soon Bucks folks.
