21 - Judgement
Ironically, I recorded this episode 2 weeks ago and held back on releasing it because I judged myself for sounding dumb. Didn't even listen to it after I recorded. Got in a flow state today and gave it a shot, and really liked what I put out, so here it is. It's crazy how judgment can destroy so many possibilities and ideas. How often do you judge yourself? I've been observing myself during this time, and it's become very apparent how hard I am on myself. In this episode, I walk you through my mental health struggles and pursuit of peace. I share my horrible and hopeful thoughts. Experts estimate that the mind thinks between 60,000 – 80,000 thoughts a day. That's an average of 2500 – 3,300 thoughts per hour. I hope my story can help you process whatever is going inside of you, too.

20 - Choices (feat. Steph Tran)
In this episode, Steph (co-founder of Powerwolf Athletics) and I talk about our outlook on COVID-19 and how we choose to use our time. We talk about how these times are testing us. How we've felt hopeless and hopeful. Despite the rollercoaster, we see this as an opportunity to continue moving towards our goals. Recognizing our privilege. Reflecting inwards. Remembering what's important. Choosing to not be stagnant. Doing something about it.

19 - Courage
I've been going to therapy and in this episode, I share with you what I've learned about my trauma. Trauma around fear of rejection, abandonment, betrayal, judgement, of them turning their backs on me. I hope it gives you the courage to face your own darkness because on the other side of that is freedom and happiness.

17 - Powerwolf Gala Speech (World Mental Health Day)
This episode is dedicated to World Mental Health Day. I spoke at the Powerwolf Gala on October 5, 2019, and the speech was about societal expectations and the masks we wear. Specifically, I talked about toxic masculinity and the journey to learn to accept all parts of myself. This is an attempt at recreating that speech. Not very clean, but hey the first step to dispelling the mental health stigma is to speak up.

16 - Personal Metrics (Work Pt 1)
Before diving into the topic of work, I talk about my life view. It's important to have a life view and work view because they'll serve as a compass to helping you make difficult decisions. It guides you to make choices that do not waste your time and answers the question - Are your sacrifices and commitments aligned with what you value most?

15 - Personal Metrics (Love & Play)
I touch on my metrics of Love and Play within the realm of Designing Your Life. When work sucks you gotta find a way to reframe it and double down in other areas.

13 - Limbo
This episode is a freestyle recording where I share with you my stream of consciousness on why I feel complacent and lost despite knocking off the things on my checklist. Hint: It has to do with lacking clarity and fearing failure.

12 - Motivation Is Dead
This episode is about sticking to my guns and pushing through when motivation dies. Because I've set up ambitious habits for myself, the bar is higher and it has been hard to adhere to. Instead of wallowing in my failure and letting life circumstances derail me - I've chosen to resist and persist. I reflect on ways to build my resilience. How I manage guilt, shame, and frustration. How I regulate myself through juggling opposing mindsets: relentless versus forgiving. How I take extreme ownership of my circumstances and lean into the support system that keeps me accountable.

11 - Powerwolf Athletics (Community & Holding Space)
This episode is about why I chose Powerwolf Athletics and how I became one of their coaches. Powerwolf is a fitness organization that has a mission to bridge mental and physical health. The program holds space for the cohorts to embrace vulnerability, take ownership of their lives, and support one another in their pursuit of improving mental and physical fitness. The values align strongly with my podcast. There's immense power in a community that chooses to be real and not sugarcoat with positivity. A community that leans into the pain and uses learnings to lift one another. A community that thinks deeply about self betterment and acts on it. What I love about it is that we're a paradox. Our founders are women entrepreneurs who are fierce. Our men are expressive. Together we're breaking boundaries and representing people as they are, rather than the roles they should be playing by societal standards. The work that we do brings depth to a fitness industry that can be very shallow.

9 - Mindset - Vulnerability Is Strength (Introduction)
Mindset Series - designed to help you become a better version of yourself. These episodes will highlight the mediums I intentionally chose to partake in so that I could become a better person. Mediums that enabled me to practice living out the values I stand for. Summary: This introductory episode is about the importance of embracing vulnerability. Being brutally honest with myself, was the first step to becoming stronger. That required me to sit with insecurities, face them, and take ownership of them. I grew up avoiding a lot of problems, it was easy to keep myself distracted. However, in my adult years I've been working to be a person who faces setbacks and insecurities head on.

8 - Recognize, Realize, Reframe
Believing in myself. I’ve been working to cultivate a stronger belief in myself in my years as a young adult. It’s an everyday practice. I spend a lot of time practicing awareness and following 3 steps: Recognizing when I feel off. Realizing the lie in the story I’m telling myself. Reframing it so that I can move forward. I don’t like it when I’m weighed down for long periods of time because of my own negativity. There’s plenty in the world already. Believing in myself is especially crucial when I push myself into discomfort- when I ask more of myself because I choose to not live on auto-pilot. After you listen to this episode, try applying the 3 steps in your daily life.

7 - Discipline Is Freedom
Lately I've been tired of letting myself down. So a mindset I've been trying to practice is that, there is freedom in choosing to commit to something. Why? Because it frees you from being paralyzed. It frees you from optimizing your choices. It frees you from not doing anything, and doing something is better than doing nothing at all. If I get the things that are important to me finished, then it's easier for me to be fully present for those who matter. Because I'm not caught feeling guilty for letting myself down. When you listen to this episode - think of all the times when you were stuck in this state stagnation, not making progress. Are you relying more on discipline or motivation? P.S. I also cover the HabitShare app in this episode. I've found it to be super helpful in helping me stay committed and disciplined. Give it a try! :)

6 - Vibe
Your vibe attracts your tribe. This episode breaks down how I try to set the right vibe and energy for myself daily. I struggle with this a lot, but on the days I get it right, the rest of my day is right. At the end of the day, I want to be able to give my best to the people who matter to me. Are you giving the rest of you or the best of you to those around you?

5 - Becoming
One of the biggest challenges I have faced in adulthood, is defining who I want to become. With all the noise these days about what should be the right career, social life, lifestyle - it was really hard to dig deep and define it for myself. It's easy to get distracted. This episode covers the process of how I define what I stand for, and some of the challenges I face along the way.

4 - Permission to Start
Give yourself the permission to start doing things for you. Often times we fall off track because we get lost in the thought of how others will judge our choices. Or even worse, we let our own mind judge us and prevent us from changing things up. Family, societal, cultural pressures. Give yourself the permission to start seeing yourself in a different light. Shape yourself into who you want to become (and let go the parts of you that no longer serve you). A boss at what you do, or will be a boss at what you choose to pursue. It first starts with your mindset and giving yourself permission to cultivate thoughts of who you want to be. Anything from a career change, moving to a new city, an insightful IG post (lol), a hobby, meeting new people, how you want to dress, how you carry yourself – just start doing shit for you. When you listen to this episode, I want you to think of all the things that you’ve wanted to do, and all the possibilities of who you want to become that have not happened yet. I know you guys have thoughts about how you want to be better and to shake things up.

3 - Commitment to Relationship (Dear Mom)
Relationships can be complicated. Different communication styles, misaligned expectations, battles with pride and vulnerability. Stubbornness. Deflecting help. This episode honors my mom, and the badass that she is. She's not one to ask for help, and for the longest time she told herself that she'd always be independent, even from me. Survival mentality is fueled by fear, deficit, and stability. It also makes the person emotionally guarded, because there's no room for expressing "weakness". This is what the refugee survival narrative forged in her. It took a lot of work to create the strong relationship I have with her today. This episode is about how I reframed the resentment towards how I was raised, empathized with my mom's life story, and helped her learn to express feelings through modeling it myself. Living over surviving.
