In this episode, Meredith and Amelia discuss the insane Tobe Hooper film, EATEN ALIVE (1976). Along with The Driller Killer (1979), these two films were the first to be prosecuted and set off a chain of media frenzy surrounding the "Video Nasties". Mary Whitehouse also threw a flamethrower into the blazing fire by going on a moral crusade against Video Nasties. 

In this week's episode, we continue discussing the life of America's sweetheart, Doris Day. This time we look at two films that she made later into her career: one of her most famous films, Pillow Talk (1959, dir. Michael Gordon) and Midnight Lace (1960, dir. David Miller), a psychological thriller that gives her another chance to break out of her typical film roles.

In this week's episode, we discuss the life of America's sweetheart, Doris Day! We explore her complicated upbringing, her contract with Warner Bros., and two of her early musicals that helped propel her to reach fame in the 1950s. We focus on My Dream is Yours (1949), one of many collaborations with director Michael Curtiz and actor Jack Carson. Then, we cover On Moonlight Bay (1951), Directed by Roy Del Ruth and has a startling resemblance to Meredith's favorite film (Meet Me In St. Louis). 

The Goldwyn Girls venture into the darkness to cover the censorship phenomenon known as the "Video Nasties" period. Each month we will be discussing a different film from the infamous list of 72 films that were banned in the U.K. This episode provides a brief summary of the history of these salacious films and then a discussion on one of the films from the list, THE BURNING (1981).
