Jocelyn returns and has a quick update on Tears of the Kingdom before discussing her early time with Final Fantasy XVI. Ryan on the other hand has been diving deep into the depths of Dave the Diver on his Steam Deck. Over in the news, EA has announced a single player Black Panther game, Baldur's Gate 3 revealed some Druid specific romance scenes, and Square Enix is considering more remasters.

Travis guests on the show this week to discuss his time with the new PlayStation 5 exclusive: Final Fantasy XVI. Ryan joins in on the chat thanks to his time with the demo. Moving into our next game, Elden Ring returns to the show thanks to the Patron Backlog Choice. In the news Nintendo fills us in on their Fall lineup, Meta reveals their VR subscription service, and the latest from the Activision Blizzard acquisition hearings.

Ryan and Jocelyn catch up on all things video game showcases, with not one, not two... BUT FIVE video game showcases worth of news to discuss. And this doesn't even include the Nintendo Direct taking place in time for our next episode... We kick things off with a promise to wrap up our Tears of the Kingdom chat soon, then move into the Summer Game Fest showcase. Afterwards we go over the Xbox + Starfield Showcase, where we are very much looking forward to Fable. Moving into the second part of our showcase discussion, we share our highlights from the PC Gaming Show, Ubisoft Forward, and the Capcom Showcase (we love you Capcom!).

Also from Apple and WWDC is a new Proton-like tool that will allow Mac users to run Windows games. Finally, we look forward to the upcoming video game announcements with Xbox committing to no CG trailers for their first party games.

More Tears of the Kingdom talk as we continue our time in Hyrule. We keep spoilers to a minimum, but plan to have a spoiler discussion on our next episode. Also, Jocelyn checks out the latest Lord of the Rings experience with Gollum. In video game news, we go over the PlayStation Showcase, Microsoft’s appeal has been filed with the CMA, and Redfall development detailed in a new Jason Schreier report.

Jocelyn has returned to The Gamers' Inn to join Ryan in discussing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. We are still discovering a lot about this game, but it should be noted that we do discuss story, gameplay, and exploration that would be considered spoilers for those who have not progressed in the game. If you're avoiding spoilers, best come back to this conversation. That being said, after Tears of the Kingdom we skydive into the news starting off with the ASUS ROG Ally arriving in June, plus three stories for Activision Blizzard including an EU approval, Overwatch 2 PVE mode has been scrapped, and BlizzCon is back on this year. Closing out the news, Amazon is working on a new Lord of the Rings MMO and Dead by Daylight is expanding thanks to Supermassive Games.

This week we welcome Travis back to the show to talk about his adventures in Ghostwire Tokyo and his recent trip to Japan. Ryan ventures into the darkness with Darkest Dungeon II, out of Early Access now. Finally, we close what we're playing by talking about Extra Life in Spring! In the news, Discord is upgrading usernames very soon, the IOC welcomes Fortnite to the Olympics, Nintendo says no new Switch hardware this year, and Phil Spencer talks Xbox and Redfall on the latest XCast.

With Jocelyn off for a few weeks, Ryan welcomes guest co-host Ridiculous Hat to talk video games, and we have a good amount to work with! Starting things off, Hat goes over his main rotation games (Hearthstone, Marvel SNAP, Runeterra) and his investment in a Steam Deck. Next we move into Trinity Fusion, a brand new rogue-lite early access game available on Steam, then chat about Hat's time with the adventure throwback Case of the Golden Idol. Finally, we close out the show with Ryan's deep sea adventures in Dave the Diver and Hat's vacation travel Switch games (Wildfrost, Have a Nice Death, Dredge, Sports Story). Moving into the news, we see a bit of a trend with film and TV adaptations of video games featuring Vampire Survivors, Twisted Metal, and Gran Turismo. Finally, we close out the show with our thoughts on the release of Redfall.

There is new Horizon content out in the world, so of course we are covering it as soon as we can on TGI! Ryan and Jocelyn dive back into the world of Horizon Forbidden West with the new post game expansion Burning Shores. Since this takes place after the main game, there are spoilers for the ending of Forbidden West, so listener beware if you have yet to complete Aloy’s second adventure. Over in the news Guerrilla teases Aloy’s next adventure(s), the Super Mario Bros Movie is on it’s way to earning a billion at the box office, Epic Games loses their appeal, and the CMA blocks Xbox’s Activision Blizzard deal.

Are you ready for Tears of the Kingdom? Well Jocelyn experienced some "fun" while purchasing her new controller. After some Zelda inspired conversations, Ryan chats about his experience with Wall World on Steam. This leads into a chat about Jocelyn maybe, possibly purchasing a Steam Deck. Over in the news, Tears of the Kingdom has received it's final pre-launch trailer, Paramount+ has it's next hit with the Knuckles series, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has officially been delayed to next February, and SEGA confirms it's purchasing Rovio.

Jocelyn and Ryan share their thoughts on the Super Mario Bros. Movie. The discussion includes some spoilers, so if you’re avoiding them it's best return to this chat at a later date. Also at the movies, Joce saw the newest Dungeons and Dragons film. Plus Ryan returns to Resident Evil for the remake of RE4. In video game news, it’s adaptation central with news for Arcane season 2, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Minecraft. Microsoft has a new controller made from partially reclaimed plastic and Sony may be working on a streaming only follow up to the PS Vita.

Jocelyn and Ryan play the brand new reverse city builder, Terra Nil (PC and iOS). After bringing back the wastelands, we jump into the news for the cancellation of E3 2023, it is no joke that Sonic has been murdered, and MultiVersus is shutting down its open beta.

Both Jocelyn and Ryan have some thoughts to share about the open beta for Diablo IV, both on PC and PlayStation 5 with cross progression. Plus Ryan has gone fishing on Steam with the new fishing game with a hint of horror called Dredge. Moving into the news, a YouTuber has poured out $22,000 dollars for the closure of the Wii U and 3DS eShops, Tears of the Kingdom has more stuff for you to spend money on (plus 10 minutes of gameplay), Netflix is still keen on making games work, and the UK's CMA seems to be OK with the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

After missing last week, we return to catch up on the games we've been playing and The Last of Us on HBO. Ryan tests out his new Steam Deck Dock from iVoler with the brand new DLC for Dead Cells, Return to Castlevania. Jocelyn returns to Coral Island and checks in on Graveyard Keeper. We then jump into our The Last of Us on HBO spoiler discussion. If you haven't watched the entire season you may want to return to this segment after watching (check time codes below). Moving into the news, we've received our final Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer and Nintendo will be pricing games at $70 on a game by game basis.

We have another Souls-like game for the Inn this week with Ryan playing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty on Xbox Game Pass. Plus Jocelyn returns to Coral Island to continue her adventures of cleaning oceans, contributing to museums, and delving into mines. We also have a lot of video games news to cover, including The Olympics getting into Esports, Dead by Daylight is getting a movie, the Microsoft Activision Blizzard deal is reported to be approved in the EU, Ghostcrawler is no longer at Riot, Cities: Skylines 2 is coming this year, while The Wolf Among Us 2 and Starfield see delays.

This week, Ryan digs into Dome Keeper on Steam, while Jocelyn checks in on the so far shark-less Coral Island in Early Access (Steam or PC Game Pass). Over in the news, Elden Ring fans will be happy to hear an expansion has been confirmed, PlayStation had a State of Play with a major focus on The Suicide Squad, Pokemon presented a bunch of new stuff, Mortal Kombat 12 receives the least exciting release confirmation, and Valve confirms all Steam sales for 2023.

Jocelyn has returned to the Inn to discuss her time with The Witcher 3 during her time off. Plus Ryan returns to his early GameBoy days with the addition of GameBoy and GameBoy Advance games to Nintendo Switch Online. Moving into the news, the story of Tetris will be told on Apple TV+, Microsoft has signed a ten year deal for Call of Duty with Nintendo and Nvidia, and Blizzard staff aren't very happy with Mike Ybarra after a recent Q&A session.

Joining Ryan this week is Nevermore, and we have a bit of a theme this week with Streaming Adventures! Nevermore kicks things off with Sea of Thieves, brings a new co-op madness game to the Inn with PlateUp, and wraps up her adventures with KeyWe. Ryan, thanks to his lovely Extra Life donors, played and streamed Elden Ring with Travis and LC. Moving into the news, we have a Chris Pratt-less Super Mario Movie ad, and Nintendo raises developers pay to strengthen the workforce.

This week Ryan is joined by returning guest host Travis, who has been on a bit of a Platinum Adventure with Avengers and Strangers of Paradise. Plus Ryan finally got a chance to boot up the excellent shadow drop of Hi-Fi Rush on Xbox Game Pass. After an update on TGI Game Club and our Extra Life Elden Ring stream (be sure to tune in Friday, February 10th at 8 PM ET for that), we move into the news! We have a Nintendo focused section this week thanks to a Mario Kart skit on SNL and all the announcements from the February Nintendo Direct.
