In the Renegade Light Sport Studio this week, Milford and I sat in true awe as an American… No, Make that a WORLD Hero shared his time and stories with us. Lt. Col. Richard Lewis told stories of his days in England during World War II. Lt. Col. Lewis flew B24’s and B17’s out of England throughout the war. I am unable to comprehend what it could have possibly felt like to see a B24 or B17 on the ramp and know that I am its pilot and commander. By the way, at age 20 he had to get his parent’s permission or a note from his 17 year old wife to fly!! We had a special treat too. He brought along his wife’s grandson, Jose, to talk about his flying as well. He is currently a student at Embry Riddle but started to learn to fly as a 12 year old in Porte Rico.

Charlie and Milford were in the mobile Renegade LightSport Studio at the Green Cove Springs, Florida airport. It was Armed forces day and a huge celebration was happening at the Military Museum of North Florida. This was the first year that private aircraft have been allowed to land at the government facility in decades. Homebuilt aircraft as well as factory builts arrived and all heads turned to the sky. A group of aircraft builders flew formation flights and even the missing man formation to salute all servicemen of this nation. Visit the museum throughout the year… but you will have to drive. We had guests that have written books about the failures to help our solders and other guests spoke for the Poisoned Patriots Fund of America. A non-profit organization seek medical aid for the thousands of soldiers and their families that lived in the Camp Lejeune Marine Corp base.

The FlightTime Radio Show would be recorded as video as well as the audio and produced for television by the offering station. More news to come in the near furure…..

Back in the Renegade Light Sport.com Studio, Milford and Charlie talked about their adventures during the past few weeks. Sun N’ Fun is over for 2014 as well as the annual Pig Roast at Renegade Light Sport in DeLand, Florida. The Aviation Radio Duo also talked about the intrusive way the federal government is inexplicitly restraining pilots and their aircraft. These intrusions occur with dozens of armed agents stopping and demanding to search aircraft that have never entered or exited the borders of the U. S. or even approached the borders. One pilot was told that his flight path was suspicious. He had flown from California eastward and stopped for fuel. The agent said his west to east course had tipped them off…

Milford and Charlie were at the 40th annual Sun n Fun fly-in. What a beautiful few days!!… Blue Angels and an F-22 Raptor filled the sky with incredible shows each day. Aerobatics were performed by many other pilots and Milford ate ALL of the Amish donuts. Charlie was fortunate enough to get a hop in an AH-1 Cobra Attack Helicopter. The machine had been deployed to combat in Vietnam as well as Iraq. Guests on the show talked about AKG’s new pilot headphones, iPad navigation, Flying to the Bahamas and Doc with the first “Broken Wing” wounded vet student pilot….

Charlie and Milford were in the Renegade Light Sport.com studio and had guests Ben Henderson and Jeff Skiles. Ben had been with us before. He received his Pilot License on his 16th birthday and had to have his dad drive him to the studio because he was too young to drive! Jeff Skiles was the co-pilot on the U. S. Air passenger plane that landed in the Hudson river following a disagreement with a skein of Canada geese!... No one really won that disagreement but everyone lived to tell about it.. Except the Skein… Look it up, it wasn’t a gaggle!!

Milford and Charlie in the Renegade Light Sport.com Studio had a chat with Doc Bailey of Renegade Light Sport to start the show off. Talk continued about great times flying until after the mid-show break. Sam then called and talked about the new and improved exam the FAA is administering to new job applicants. Nearly ALL applicants for Air Traffic Control positions have been through tough public and private schools to learn the trade before they even apply. Now, the new testing is only allowing a very small percentage of these already qualified prospects to even be considered!!.. Call your congressman!!
