Q&A 021: Karl Williams, Co-Owner of Williams DeVera Personal Training Studios
"You’ve got to think big to achieve big" - that's how this week's fitness marketing Q&A guest, Karl Williams, looks at his business, Williams DeVera Personal Training Studios in London, England. Karl wrote a guest blog post for me almost a year ago so it was great to finally have him on the show. And I was pretty excited to have my first guest from across the Pond! Other highlights from this week's show are: Treat what you're doing like a business Insights into opening a fitness studio Provide quality and treat your clients with respect and they'll stick with you People in the fitness industry will help more people get fit by helping each other than regarding other fitness professionals as competition Side notes about the show: This show is part of a bigger goal of mine to help fitness professionals find relevant marketing and social media information they can implement in their own businesses. If you need to get a handle on what to do on your social networks or you’re tired of wasting time searching the web for good info, check out the Reesources menu link on my site AgilitySocialCues.com for lots of free resources The more ratings and reviews the show has in iTunes the eaiser it will be found by other fitness professionals looking for quality marketing information that my guests have shared. Please help others like you find the show and leave a rating and review in iTunes. Anyone who leaves a review will get a shout out in next week’s show. Thank you! With the iTunes 11 upgrade some things have changes. Here's a post on how to rate/review a show in iTunes.   About Karl Wiliams Karl is the founder of Kommitted and Co Founder of Williams DeVera Personal Training Studios. Having worked for private clients around the world and then in the commercial gym environment, he decided to make the next step and used his experience to set up a studio with his business partner in Kensington, London. It was an easy decision to make as the numbers based operation of a commercial gym didn't allow him to pay the attention he wanted to all of his clients and he believes quality always wins over quantity. A year later he started Kommitted, a health and fitness company addressing all aspects of a healthy and fulfilling life and aims to encourage people to be the best versions of themselves they can be. This came about as he noticed that people that succeed in achieving their goals all had one thing in common no matter how different they were. When

Q&A 019: Amanda Shipe, Owner of Mind Your Body Oasis
This week's guest is Amanda Shipe, owner of the soon to open Mind Your Body Oasis in Crystal City, Virginia. I met Amanda several months ago through a friend of mine (and previous guest) Patty Repko. We met for coffee and when she told me about her plans to open a health and wellness studio I knew I had to have her on the show. I loved the idea of talking with someone in the thick of opening their own place! So, even though she is extremely busy, as you can imagine, she graciously agreed. Like the show? Loooovvvee the show? Lol – yeah those are your only two options :) Please consider leaving a rating and review in iTunes - super appreciated! About Amanda Shipe Taking a risk to start her own company was the easy part, according to Mind Your Body Oasis (MYBO) Founder, Amanda Shipe.  ”When you find something you’re passionate about and the opportunity presents itself, you can’t not go for it.”  Building upon her career in the Pharmaceutical and Nutrition sales industries, nourishing her passions of health and fitness, and finally actualizing her dream of a health and wellness center, Amanda is pleased to unite her past experiences and her passions into Mind Your Body Oasis. Amanda’s love for Pilates stems from a knee injury while training for her first triathlon.   She was advised she should never run or do high impact activity again.  Rather than pursuing the suggested surgical route, Amanda started intensive acupuncture therapy and began Pilates to maintain her workout regimen.  A lot of surprising results followed: Amanda strengthened her knees, significantly decreased her waistline, avoided surgery, and felt the extremely powerful benefits of an exercise that works with (rather than against) the body.  As Amanda healed, she began practicing Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga, became certified to teach Pilates in 2007, earned an additional certification in Power Pilates in 2010, and earned her Yoga Teacher certification in 2011.  She has taught privately and at many fitness outlets in the DC area. When contemplating the best place to actualize her dream of turning her passions into a career by owning a health and wellness center, she was led no further than her own back yard: the shops at Crystal City, which are central to so many busy professionals and accessible via metro to those who are a little further out. Dream, passion, opportunity; thus MYBO was born. Recognizing how fortunate she is to be able to realize her dream and her life’s

Rog Lawson suggested I ask her to be on the show and I knew that if Rog suggested someone then I had better follow up. Am I glad that I did! Q&A 010: Trey Potter, Owner of Driven Training Systems
This week's guest on The Fitness Marketing Q&A Show™ is Trey Potter, owner of Driven Training Systems in Salina, KS. You will absolutely love it because there is an s-ton of information!! He shares his story of how his fitness business turned around within days after he made the decision to close up shop. He also has some great stuff on how speaking in the community has led to more clients. I don't want to give it all away so make sure to listen or read the transcripts below. On top of all that he mentions that he found some helpful info from my resources links - yay! :) Don't forget to download the Podcast app for your iPhone, iPod or iPad. That's the only way I listen to podcasts anymore because it's so much easier to keep up with the latest episodes. To get the latest episode each week of  The Fitness Marketing Q&A Show™ please subscribe in iTunes or via RSS. Being just 10 episodes in, the show hasn't been around long enough to be easily found on iTunes. If you like the show I would really appreciate your support by rating it and leaving a review.
