Reshad Jones: I Put In The Work
Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep When current Miami Dolphins GM Chris Grier visited Georgia safety Reshad Jones prior to the 2010 NFL Draft, he saw great potential. It’s hard to imagine, however, that anyone in Miami predicted the player they would take in the fifth round that year would go on to play 10 seasons and become one of the most prolific defensive playmakers in team history, but that is exactly what the Atlanta native did. In this episode, Jones reflects upon his decade of dominance, his drive to outperform his draft position, and advice from the late Tony Sparano that may have saved his career before it even began. Contributors to this episode include Sean “DJ Prec” Todd and Dolphins Productions. Theme song created and performed by The Honorable SoLo D. The Fish Tank is Presented by iHeart Radio. Alec Ingold: One Extra Blade of Grass
Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep Despite being the only fullback invited to the 2019 NFL Combine, Alec Ingold went undrafted and actually accepted a job offer from a tech company before finally receiving a call from the Oakland Raiders. Ingold went on to become a key contributor to the Raiders offense and was named a team captain in his third year, however a torn ACL ended his season and eventually his tenure in silver and black. Ingold did not skip a beat, however, signing with the Miami Dolphins this offseason and has been making an impact on and off the field ever since. In The Tank, Alec raves about being a part of the Dolphins explosive offense (3:34) and relishes this opportunity to “reinvent” the fullback position (6:24). He goes on to explain how being passed over in the draft forced him to develop a drive that still fuels him to this day (10:59). Alec also opens up about being adopted and the internal struggle associated with that experience (14:49), and proudly discusses his Ingold Foundation, its programs, and his passion for impacting young people (19:14), while explaining his goals for community work in South Florida (23:24). Sage Rosenfels: Coaching Matters
Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep A fourth-round draft choice by Washington in 2001, Sage Rosenfels was traded to Miami prior to the 2002 season and spent four years with the Dolphins, sharing a quarterback room with the likes of Jay Fiedler, Ray Lucas, Brian Griese, A.J. Feeley, and Gus Frerotte during that stretch. Rosenfels’ career would span 11 NFL seasons, but it was his stunning performance in leading the Fins back from a 21-point fourth quarter deficit against the Buffalo Bills in 2005 that Miami fans remember him most for.  In The Tank, Sage reflects upon his Miami Dolphins tenure (7:01) and takes us back to that epic fourth quarter comeback over the Bills in ’05 (12:01). In the wake of Tua Tagovailoa’s six TD performance at Baltimore this year, Sage also recalls his own four TD fourth quarter (21:19), explains how impactful it was to be surrounded by the likes of Kyle Shanahan and Mike McDaniel after signing with the Houston Texans in 2006 (30:26), and provides phenomenal insight on their offensive philosophies (43:44). Sage goes on to detail the life of a back-up quarterback in the NFL (52:12), and attacks our Fish Tank Two-Minute Drill like he was back in command of a huddle (1:07:30).
