A gaggle of rich people in Spain head over to the Nobile manor house for an elegant dinner party.  After having a good laugh at the servants and eating some cold cut sandwiches they party on into the night. Slowly they come to realize that none of them are able to leave the parlor!  Police and Press alike attempt to enter the house to save them, but find themselves unable to cross the threshold of the manor house.  Enjoy this final movie review of 1962, featuring Buñuel’s dark comedic Exterminating Angel!

The Fine Vintage discusses Cleo from 5 to 7, a French new wave movie about a starlet waiting for results on a cancer test.  The film shows off gorgeous photography of Paris and occurs roughly in real time, with each activity that Cleo does telling us more about her in the context of her impending news.  She meets a young man heading to war in Algeria, with whom she commiserates. Enjoy this bonus episode as we wind down our 1962 season! We will release the finale as well as our last movie this Sunday.

Annie Yamson joins the Fine Vintage for another episode covering Lolita. Stanley Kubrick brings us a movie about a man who seduces a widowed mother in order to get closer to her young daughter.  After competing for her affection with a different, wackier sex predator played by Peter Sellers, he winds up alone and angry and then gets killed in prison!  Enjoy?
