Episode 255: 1941
Hey y’all, For our final episode of January and our Spielberg retrospective we are joined by Friend of the Show - Nick Delgadillo. And it is a fun show that we’ve got lined up.  To finalize the month, we’re reviewing 1941. The film is his first major flop, and even to this day remains a lesser known film. So, was it a misunderstood masterpiece, or did it fail fair and square? We’ll discuss the movie, what works, and what doesn’t. To round out the night, Nick shares with us what he’s been watching and we talk about seeing Porgy & Bess.  Thanks for tuning in this week, and we hope y’all enjoyed our Spielberg retrospective. Episode 246: Thanksgiving Horror
Hey film buds, Thanksgiving can be stressful. Travel, pending winter, and the pressure to “enjoy” the holidays can be a lot. Plus, not everyone loves being stuck with family for extended periods of time. But can the holiday be scary?  This week, following a brief hiatus, we’re back with a Thanksgiving Horror Double. First, we decided to get into a fowl mood with the turkey-slasher Thankskilling. Second, we decided to take advantage of Hulu’s holiday-centric horror anthology Into the Dark as we review Pilgrim. Episode 245: Addams Family Values
Hey film buds, Fall is officially upon us at last. After months of the days growing shorter and temperatures dropping, we’ve finally arrived. But what to do for Fall Film?  Well, this month we’ll be celebrating that cinematically glanced over holiday, Thanksgiving. Personally, I hate the stupid day. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t fun to be had, movies to be watched, and appreciation to be garnered.  For our first film, we’ll be discussing The Addams Family Values. The sequel to the 1990s film is arguably one of the few films to center any of its focus on the holiday, but does that mean it fits with the ideals of the day? We’ll review the film, discuss Thanksgiving on screen, and more.  If you haven’t already, be sure to check out last week’s episode.  Thanks y’all, The Buds Show Open - 00:00 Introduction Fall/Thanksgiving Movies Addams Family Values Review - 16:03 End of the Show - 49:28 Avatar: The Way of Water New Trailer Outro Total Runtime - 01:00:36 Be a Friend to the Film Buds: thefilmbuds.com The Buds on Patreon The Buds on bandcamp @filmbuds on Twitter @thefilmbudspodcast on Instagram Paul’s Letterboxd  Click this link and get some sweet movie related art while also supporting the show.
